  1. Awesome!!! Congrats on making life changes and seeing progress!!!
  2. Really like the hunger/satisfaction scale you've got going. It's so important to listen to our bodies and it's awesome to incorporate this to really be in touch with how your feeling as well as a helpful tool to incorporate into meal planning/prepping Happy Day One..hope yours is great!'n
  3. Wow....hella busy weekend!!! But all that cleaning and yard work was some good prep for this challenge (at least that's how I'm looking at it). I was super active and my Fitbit was jumping for effing joy with the amount of steps i accumulated!! I'm on my lunch break and checking in. I didn't get enough sleep last night and therefore did not work out this morning, but I'm only aiming for three am workouts so I'm not stressed about that part of the quest. I ate my protein bar breakfast and had a banana for my morning snack. Work was busy this morning so I was on my feet (yay) and I just finished my lunch- coconut Greek yogurt and another protein bar...because I forgot my granola. Looking forward to a busy afternoon at work, going home later and doing some yoga and getting a good night's rest so I will be up in the AM for some body weight exercises. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Day One!!!
  4. Ugh..craptastic day. Kiddo is sick and miserable and it breaks my heart :'( Spent my day cleaning cause my in laws are getting the house appraised before leasing it to us so it needs to be beyond spotless Monday morning. Not a problem when it comes to Con's room or mine and Hubbs' room..but the rest of the house is lots of work (my in laws are not the neatest people ever and on top of that..they're older so deep cleaning isn't really their game). Got into a fight with my FIL because he can kind of be a jerk and I just wanted to scream and eat cookies. But I didn't eat cookies. I went for a walk around the block and drank a bottle of water and went back to doing what had to be done. He then proceeded to pick fights with his wife and my Hubbs and I just cleaned. I'm posting this cause it's a win. I didn't let stress or emotions get the best of me. I didn't eat an Oreo or get a Pepsi from the gas station (Pepsi is my mother effing kryptonite). Gives me hope for my upcoming challenge as well as life beyond that!
  5. Posted my quest in the recruits sub of the current challenge!!! Wooooooooooooo!!
  6. Btw, I love your life quest..maybe I'll add that to my next challenge. I hate talking to strangers (I'm very shy when I'm not on the Internet) and don't generally stray from my comfort zone in any area of my life.
  7. I'll follow you back!! Let's kick our plateau's bums together!!!
  8. Form is important because of alignment and Whitewhiteandcathair is right..do some reading into what muscles you should be feeling and look into modifications as well as into using props like blocks or a strap. What I found great for progressing my down dog is after pushing into it from table (all fours) and straightening my legs as far as my hammies allowed- I would bend both knees and raise up on tip toes (it brings your thighs closer to your chest) and release a few times, also it can be done one leg at a time. Make sure your really pushing your hips up and back. Most days my heels touch the ground in Down Dog, but some days they don't and it's okay. Listening to your body is key.
  9. Pigeon and double pigeon are great hip openers!!! You might also like frog..I think it's a good one because it's simple and easily progress-able. Crescent lunges make my hips, groin, and thighs super happy as well
  10. I treated myself to some workout clothes (I hate spending money on clothes) yesterday and went shopping in the Little Boys Section- because they have better superhero shirts and scored two cute tank tops- one batman and one avengers for 10 bucks. Wore my batman one yesterday while I was cleaning the house and then for a nice power yoga sesh..already getting ready to start this challenge on Monday!!!
  11. I'm sure you'd get a giggle out of me when I'm upset..I do the foot stomp thing too and it always makes people laugh. I'm not very intimidating!! Definitely have to work on the sleep thing..I know I'd feel better getting more sleep in. But it's so tough..I've been a night owl since I was a little kid and had insomnia for years so I've learned to be up at night. Like last night..I stayed up til 230 and had to be awake at 6 for work..I felt like death when my alarm went off!!! Thanks for the warm welcome I have to figure out how to post some pics in this thread to show my starting point and progress pics
  12. Hmmm..prolly cause I was writing this at 130 in the morning, lol. I really should include (maybe in life goals) because I want to become a Certified Yoga Instructor. I don't have any specific pose goals- they come when they come. And thank you!! So looking forward to this!!
