  1. I could see that. Which one do you have?
  2. Week 2 Day 2 Log the Day Yes. learning to get more high level with this Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal Yes. ~1608. It's nice to see my apetite balanced out after two days of going over my goal. Either that or my body recognized I wasn't doing much and didn't need as much full. Especialy with a house full of easter candy. I'm Orthodox our easter was Sunday. Even though I haven't been back to church since August because I'm not ready for the pity party of revisiting people learning about my mom's passing. I even gave up Lent for Lent this year. Much needed Practice Plank each day Yes, modified side plank 65 seconds each side. Forerm plank 30s twice. Hit step goal as many days as possible. ~7457 steps. soo close. I did a 15 minute aerobic workout. Night Routine Nope. My sinuses have been acting weird. Not sure if I'm catching a cold or dealing with a rare allergy attack. Pollen doesn't usually get me. Took a sudafed last night and wow it took me out.
  3. Week 2 Day 1 Log the Day This was easy as I was at a symposium all day. But my company organized the symposium so it was physically and mentally exhausting. All my introvert points were up by 2pm. Thing is, it lasted till 5pm and we had drinks after. (you might be noticing a pattern here) Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal I logged everything and it was 2400 calories Today was a prime example of how you can eat healthy and still go over your calorie goal. At least 300 of those calories came from fruits and veggies, I ate of lots of carrots and apples. Another 500 from salmon with skin and chicken breast. ~400 from things like olive oil dressings and hummus ~400 from IPAs. Ok so the IPA wasn't healthy. What I'm trying to say is, I was way over but the majority of it was healthy so I'm not going to let it bother me. Practice Plank each day Yes, modified side plank 60 seconds each side. Forerm plank 20s twice. going backwards hopefully it's just lethargy. Hit step goal as many days as possible. ~6500 steps. Was too tired to care. Night Routine Took meds, skincare routine. 50/50
  4. Week 1 Day 7 Log the Day Yep, it was a busy day. Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal I tried to log everything. Had a business dinner and drinks. so it's estimated over 2000+ Practice Plank each day No. Hit step goal as many days as possible. ~7100 steps Another random day where I did 2 dance classes then drove to Sacramento. I had to work at night so I didn't have time to hit those last ~900 steps. I hit 49,00 steps in a week for the first time since last June! It's that daily activity, it's great. For the past few months I may have a day or to where I hit 10k, even 20k on a hike and then sedentary the rest of the time. Night Routine Yes, this is the one thing that easier when travelling. Week 1 reflections 1) Meal planning helps with nutrition goals 2) 8000 steps is not as easy I thought, I have to make the time for it 3) work on plank form. Side plank is easier for me than forearm plank.
  5. Here's a regular reminder to myself that healthy sustainable weight loss is a journey. I think sometimes when my life feels out of control I get hyperfocus on my weight.
  6. Week 1 Day 6 Log the Day Saturdays are always random but it got fairly logged. . Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal Didn't log everything. Fell off around 8pm with some snackage. If I had to overestimate I'd say around 2500 calories. I went out with my dance group for korean fried chicken Practice Plank each day Yes. 40s forearmed plank. 1:00 minute modified side plank. Is it weird that I get bored doing plank? I think this is how I fell off on plank practice in the first place. However I remember why I need to do it. Dance practice was intense and I can already tell the engagement of core is helping. Yay progress! Hit step goal as many days as possible. 8343 steps Funny thing about dance. We're doing a lot of lyricalish routines for this year's performance. That means a lot of steps with sweeping arms that the fitbit will not track. 2.5 hours of dance practice. After lunch we walked around about a half hour to hand out flyers for Day of Dance and I still hadn't hit 5000 steps by 1800. (In GOB's voice) I mean, come on! This is why some people call steps an arbitrary number. haha. But I turned a corner, at 2300 I did one of the workouts me and my mom would do together, Leslie Sansone Walk at Home. Did the 15 minute mile. and that's how I went from 6900 steps at 2250 to getting to 8343 by midnite. Night Routine Sort of. I needed to pack for my trip . I grabbed everything but didn't put it all together in my overnight bag. which I need to do now. SF Bay area dance week started Friday - May 5th and our dance group is doing day of free dance classes. Soul Line dancing, lyrical, Afro caribean, even burlesque. We do a mini dance preview of the Summer show but I'll be missing that and hte last two classes because the event is 1100-1700 but I need to be in Sac for a pre-event Dinner at 1800
  7. Week 1 Day 5 Log the Day Yep. Day was semi-productive. This event is on Monday and hopefully my stress will be gone reduced Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal ~1533 Calories. Logged. Didn't drink enough water (28oz) nor enough food . 300 of those calories came from alcohol. 400 came from cake. Which was delicious but I never had an actually Practice Plank each day No. Hit step goal as many days as possible. So close! 6700 steps. On a positive note, as of Friday I've walked more steps Mon-Friday than I did all last week. Night Routine Nope.
  8. As a minority I've often wondered the same thing about racists in power/roles of leadership.
  9. looks like you've got good options work wise. Love that wreath, it turned out great!
  10. Soundslike the first weekhas been going well. Welcome and good luck!
  11. Week 1 Day 4 Log the Day Not really. I started then fell off because I got frustrated with this project and kinda shut-down for awhile to avoid a depression spiral. Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal ~2247 Calories. Logged. I did too much comfort eating. Begrudgingly I logged it all despite really not wanting to face that I ate so much random food yesterday. Practice Plank each day Yes. 35s Forearm Plank. 60s Modified side plank on each side. Hit step goal as many days as possible. Not even close, ~3100 steps 10 hour workday at home meant i didn't make it to the do gym. Did do some bodyweight exercises other than planks. Also a few resistance band exercises. At one point, I was doing resistance band almost everytime I watched the news. Ironic side effect of watching less news. Night Routine Yep Outfit was easy. My supervisor (remote) is actually going to be in the office and we're having a check in lunch. Cue the trigonometry dress! I go through these probiotics way faster when I actually take them as my doctor suggest. Yesterday was not a good day, mentalhealth wise and it's lingered to this morning. Not even 10am and I'm stressed out. Having some career goal issues, tired of double standards. Very frustrated with the same people telling me to "Speak up more, be more confident" are the same ones interupting and overtalking me. Kinda lost my passion for this project but gotta finish it. Luckily these are mostly people that aren't at the company I work for but it's still stressful. I should end on a positive note....hmm.... Oh I made pizza croutons in the airfryer and they are amazing! Had a breakfast salad with greens, boiled egg, chicken, and those croutons with yogurt dressing. Yum!
  12. haha, thanks. Feel they are pretty round goals. Nice on your CalExit. I live in the Bay Area (lived in Oakland 2009-2017). Heading for South Carolina aiming ultimately to North Carolina.
  13. Week 1 Day 2 Log the Day Yes, I got a lot done but it was stressful. Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal I logged everything but went way over my goal 2,242 calories. Had little caesar's last night. Next time we do LC, I'll stick to the italian cheese bread and have salad. Since my bf and I can't agree on pizza at LC (and it's so cheap he's like let's just get one of each) I have a 3/4 a "deep dish" pizza and the desire for maybe 2 more slices. It's more like thick bread with topping than "deep dish" I wonder if I can make croutons out of it? Practice Plank each day Yes. 30s Forearm Plank. and Side plank modified as below 45 seconds each side. I'm knockneed and regular side plank is going to take more practice. I'm feeling it this morning Hit 8000 step goal as many days as possible. 10,000+ steps I had a ridiculously stressful day in a stresful week. That thing I had no idea what I was working on earlier? Spent 8 hours working on a presentation because the senior engineer didn't have time to do it by the deadline. 1 day after the deadline he decides to scrap my presentation and redo it. And the powers that be were totally fine with it. Ugh. Personally I still think my presentation was a better fit for the audience but we'll find out next week. So after work I went for a walk. I was leaving the house when my boyfriend drove up and he walked with me! That was nice. We walked about 1.5 miles. Night Routine 50/50. Decided to work from home today. Had a lunch plan (this is helpful even on WFH days). Gathered gym clothes. Didn't take vitamin, plan clothes, or do skin routine.
  14. welcome, how's the challenge going so far?
  15. Samesies! Water was part of my challenge last time and 8000 steps is part of this time Welcome and good luck!
  16. Week 1 Day 2 Log the Day Yes! Got to a stopping point with a task and begrudgingly handed off. Spent most of the workday working on something that I had no idea what the finished product should be. Talked to the PM in the evening and they didn't know either. lol. I switched from using my pocket notebook to my planner to log the day. <-an exciting development! Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal ~1722 Calories. Logged. Tend to eat overnight but log days 00:00-23:59. So that grain-free chocolate chip muffin and Protein bite (253 cals 15g protein) I ate before Tuesday morning really put a kink(the bad kind) in my day. Each day I look back and wonder, "what I can do better the next day?" One answer was clear, "Don't eat over 10% of your calories in the middle of the night". Ideally, I'd like to not eat in the middle of the night but with Weight Loss Surgery (WLS May 2002), I got reactive hypoglycemia. Fun fact, that's what happens when you don't have Type 2 diabetes and you have WLS. I did check my blood sugar before I ate, it was around 49mg/dL. Last night I had some jello and cheese (~108 cal/ 8g protein). The other thing I realized is those white potatoes with dinner may have caused the blood sugar crash. Yay, introspective thinking. Practice Plank each day Yes. 30s Forearm Plank. Hit step goal as many days as possible. Yes, ~8400 steps Went to the gym last night. Cycled. Elliptical. Strength, mostly free weights/ body weights. Legs and core Night Routine Yep it's actually warm in the Bay this week. 80 yesterday in Oakland, high 70s today. It was smart to plan an outfit that didn't revolve around my standard gray or navy cardigan and boots.
  17. No worries, I appreciate the thought. Being an engineer, I tend to think "Oh it's just math, I can figure this out" about anything involving numbers. That makes me feel better that it terrifies an accountant
  18. Week 1 Day 1 Log the Day Yep, I did okay productivity-wise until I got home. But all was logged. Eat between 1200-1800 cals, log everything in MyFitnessPal ~1507 Calories. Included a sizeable Jameson and Dr. Pepper. All logged Practice Plank each day 30s Forearm Plank. Hit step goal as many days as possible. Nope, ~5100 steps. I'd planned to go for a walk with my bf and the dog but my bf "waited me out" didn't come home till after dark. Reasons why I exercise solo Night Routine Yep, Clothes, lunch packed, workbag packed, finished journal and took vitamin
  19. Nice! It's glad to know somebody outside of instagram found it helpful. My boyfriend is so confused by it, lol. Thanks!
  20. lol, I've lived out here for 10 years. It's been overall a good experience but it's time to go home. Remember you asked... Planning on taking over my mom's mortgage this year and trying to figure out what to do with life insurance/death benefits. Dealing with estate issues, however small, is challenging. I knew eventually, I'd have to learn more about personal finance just assumed it would be gradual process. My family with 2 lawyers, a CPA/Math dad, and a Harvard MBA aunt have managed to be incredibly unhelpful. Some days it's like a bad episode of Dallas.
  21. That's not a bad idea, thought about doing that with a set of dumbells. One of our VPs has 2 skull kettlebells in their office. Seriously thought they were badass paperweights for a while.
  22. Week 0 has been going okay so far. I've hit my step goal 2 days (Wednesday and Thursday) and have been on target and tracking food since my cycle ended Tuesday. Working at home today to get a much needed meal planning session in while I work. I use the slowcooker/rice cooker and oven quite a bit. Went to the gym on Wednesday and beat my previous cycling record of 5.77 miles in 30 min. I did 6.02 miles in 30 min! Pretty happy about that. The reason I started logging my day is because it makes me much more aware of how I'm spending my time. It's amazing how many hours I've wasted away. And yea, it definitely helps.
  23. Yep I've tracked my weight and cycle for about a year now. Been bouncing between the same 10lbs for the past 5 months.
