  1. Hi All! My husband and I have been hoping for a positive pregnancy test since October 2016. Before we started trying, I went to my doctor and asked specifically about my weight and my choice to be (and remain) vegetarian (I'm about to turn 27, 5'4 and 175lbs). My doctor was of the opinion that I "shouldn't be trying to make any drastic lifestyle changes" if I wanted the greatest success in getting pregnant. Which, for me, meant that all care about my weight and eating habits stayed fairly unhealthy. The more I talk to other women, the more I'm hearing that the first thing their doctors told
  2. Hey! Good luck with these! I've been a veg for about a year. I had lots of vegetarian friends to cheer me on, but the best advice I got was that I had to eat the things I loved. At first, I thought that was ridiculous (all my favourite foods had meat in them!), but pretty soon I found myself turning to my favourite go-to veg meals/snacks whenever I was craving meat (for me, a cheese bagel with cream cheese.... yummmm). I started fighting off meat cravings with yummy food, and after a while, my meat cravings went away and vegetarianism became a no-brainer. I think your yoga goal, and the alt
  3. Hey! These goals look great! I'm getting married in October, and we're going to be trying for a baby shortly afterward. I'm so interested to hear how your fitness goals go through your pregnancy! Your no phones after midnight rule is fantastic! I might save that for my next challenge. I often look up from the screen and realize that it's almost 1:30 in the morning. Such a terrible habit to get into. Best of luck! (following)
  4. February 29th update I had planned to have a great evening in last night to get a head start on some of these goals, and then realized halfway home from my full time job that I was scheduled to work from 7-11pm. Yikes! I did manage to run some errands in between, and I picked up everything I needed to start the seeds for the garden. 1. Decluttering: I cleaned out my car, which was a huge relief. 2. Drink Water: I drank a TON of coffee during the day, but when I got to work I switched to water and drank about 700mL of water. 3. Yoga: Looked up the schedule for my gym to see when yoga clas
  5. Hi Everyone! My name is Ash. This is my first challenge as a Druid, and I'm hoping to set up a semi-permanent home here. I'm 25 years old, and I have a lot going on in my life. Too much actually. I work a full time job that is draining my soul away in order to pay the bills, and three (yes, you read that right, three) part time jobs to help pay down debt and save for my upcoming wedding. I volunteer with 5 community groups on a regular basis. I have a home with a partner, a dog, and three cats that needs constant attention. I'm getting married in October, and my family is making the wedding
  6. Hi Everyone, This is my first challenge as a Druid. My last challenge as a Ranger failed horribly, and I discovered that I needed to work on developing myself if I'm looking for support from the people around me. I'm focusing on decreasing clutter, drinking water, practising meditation, and getting some yoga in. Wishing everyone the best as they start their challenges!
  7. The past four days have been really tough. I'm struggling with a huge lack of support. My partner hasn't been going to the gym, and I've been feeling so down that I haven't bothered going either. I fell off the yoga train the first day I skipped. The only thing that has been moving forward is the wedding plans. I've ordered the paper for the flowers. I'm bombing this challenge hard, and I really feel like I'm doing this on my own. On the plus side, I took the dog out on the trails yesterday. The whole trail was sheer ice, so that was awful, but we did some off roading in places where it was r
  8. About to run out the door to work, but wanted to do a quick update on yesterday: I worked a 15 hours day yesterday (yikes!). By the time I got home, it was freezing rain so badly that the dog didn't even want to go out for a pee, let alone go for a full walk. So that plan got totally thrown out the window. I need to figure out a backup for when that happens! Anyways, so long as the weather holds out, we'll get out for an extra long walk today. I ended up skipping yoga, which was totally on me - but 15 hours on being on my feet was killing me. I drank 1200mL of water yesterday. It was a stru
  9. Just got back from the gym (hurray!) and figured this would be a good time to record my day one progress. My workout at the gym was almost thwarted by nerves, but I got there and got it done! 10 minutes on the treadmill (3.6 speed) 4s10r @10lbs - bicep curls 4s10r @10lbs - overhead press 3s10r, 1s8r @40lbs - seated cable row 4s10r - bodyweight squats My workout was cut short because the gyms was super busy and there was a lineup for the leg press machine I wanted to use. Now that I'm nome, I'm feeling a bit shaky, so I've got some food cooking away. I did Day 1 of the 30 day yoga challenge
  10. Congrats on wanting to try for little one #3! I think your goals sound great. I love your food goal - let me know if you have any favourite recipes you'd like to share. I'm a veg, and find easy, quick meals is often a huge challenge for me. I've used the UFYH lists to whip my house into shape. They're awesome! I now apply the 20/10 or 45/15 rule to just about everything I do in life. What a fantastic lifesaver that blog has been! Following!

  12. I love the simplicity of this! Following. Best of luck!
  13. Hey! Good for you on coming back! I'm in a similar spot. I have about 40 pounds to lose as well. Two goals sounds do-able! I'm sure you'll do great. And good on your for picking push-ups... they always seem like they would be the most daunting fr a challenge, but I think you've broken them out in a very realistic way. Wishing you well!
  14. Hey Everyone, I'm Ash (like the guy from Pokemon, but without the hat). I was part of a challenge last year, but ended up dropping out in the second week because I found out my grandmother (who I'm extremely close to) has cancer. It felt like my whole world crumbled. So I needed to drop out and regroup. But coming back this time feels even harder than it was last time. There are a few aspects of my life that I know are going to be incredibly challenging for me over the next few weeks. I want to share them with you so that I can help get a bit of perspective if things start going wrong, beca
  15. Ducky, you're rocking this!! I love your idea for drinking water when you pop into a new forum. I lurk so much, but then I get so ditracted that I forget that the water bottle is staring at me. I'm going to do the same thing!
