  1. We just finished the nursery and ended up going to Sherwin Williams for the first time. I was definitely impressed with their selection but did notice that the paint seemed to rub off easily while we were renovating the room. We'll see how it holds up to a toddler over the next year or so, haha.
  2. I've been to their location in Chicago (at least, I think it was Intimacy). I looked on their website last night and holy hell, do I want me some of that lingerie. It's not worth selling my child for, but definitely gorgeous. I have seen Freya and Panache on Zulilly once or twice but didn't buy anything because I wasn't familiar with the brands. Do they hold up well?
  3. I think it's important to remember that the people buying your work will see it very differently than you do. The average lay person doesn't have the same eye that an artist does and is more willing to accept what you would call flaws as enhancements. Also, I think your stuff is gorgeous and I can't wait to buy all of it (as soon as I have a place to hang it in my disaster of a house, oi).
  4. This is a great way to track - keep it up!
  5. This is totally, which is why I love Duolingo, although I'm doing Spanish, not French. My name on the app is annarhoswen - friend me? Then I'll have someone to compare myself too because most of Duolingo friends have vanished, haha. This whole thread just make me happy because apparently I'm a weird lurker who prefers watching people talk than trying to have a conversation. XD
  6. As a fellow member of the big chested club, I salute you. I've been getting bras at Lane Bryant but they don't hold up long enough to justify the price. I should look into Intimacy...
  7. Being social online is a good way to build yourself back up after being broken down, so long as you find the right tribe. I think you've done it.
  8. Kudos for coming back and trying again! I'm right there with you on being a Challenge 1 fail monster but we can totally do this! What holds you back from starting your thesis right after breakfast? If it's too easy to get distracted, treat it like a job - grab your laptop or notebook and head somewhere that isn't familiar, like a library or a coffee shop. This will help break your mental cycle of "dithering" after breakfast (I love that word, haha).
  9. I love your recap! Good luck on this challenge, pilot Gar.
  10. 30lbs is awesome! You're really killing it with your goal. Weight training will help too - you'll see slower weight drop but it will stay off and you'll feel amazing. Have you looked into any vegetarian cooking? I love making huge batches of veggie soup like this - it's low cal, high-fiber and tastes fantastic! It can be customized pretty easily and it reheats well because the veggies don't get mushy. My mom makes hers with broccoli, cabbage and Parmesan (instead of Romano) and it's sooooo good.
  11. Congrats on no sugar - that's amazing! I'm always inspired to see people kick their sugar habit. It gives me hope that I can do it too someday, haha.
  12. I don't have a good source for gifs but this is handsdown my favorite cat meme. I found it during a tough time and it made me laugh for days. Another way to help get over self-care anxiety is to schedule it and enforce that schedule until it feels normal. If you want time to exercise, set a time where that will happen without fail and make every other obligation work around it. If anyone says, "I can't believe you'd rather go to the gym than x" just smile and nod - this person obviously has all kinds of magical free time and willpower and just doesn't get it.
  13. Christmas cacti aren't actually that prickly and they are GORGEOUS when they bloom but so are peace lillies - to for what motivates you most. maybe this is a good time to do some deep dive research into how best to care for it - how much water, what soil acidity/mixture, should it be pruned or dead-headed, etc.
  14. Good luck! Have you tried Mint for finances? I really like it for spend tracking because you can get as granular as you want to be as well as see trends from day-to-day, week-to-week, etc.
  15. Do you live in Michigan? This is totally my morning too. I like the idea of split threads - can you link to the other thread?
  16. Walking and dance parties sound like great ideas! My tips for getting motivated to walk, because I think walking is boring (thanks, adhd) - Park at the furthest spot from the door. Take the stairs at least once floor. Find a podcast or show and then only listen to it when you're walking. Good luck!
  17. I really like their sister app for walking - I can't remember what it's called but it was a great story as well!
  18. All right, coming in at the beginning of the challenge this time, gonna do this! @Erza Scarlet is using Fairy Tail categories so I'm stealing the idea and using assorted anime characters, like you do. 1) (Sailor Jupiter) Go to gym by myself 1x a week for at least 30 minutes - I want to start weight lifting but I tend to put it off because The Husband can't go with me. There's not any particular reason but there is some anxiety with working out where other people are watching because I feel like they're judging even though I know they're actually focusing on themselves, etc. This is one of those things where I need to get over it and the best way to do that is to just start going. Depending on how my day goes, that will be today after work but not sure how this project will shape up. Definitely going Thursday if today doesn't work out (haha). 2) (Wendy Marvell) Morning stretches 2x a week - Y'know, for flexibility and pain reduction. With the offspring's bedroom done, I now have a nice, quiet space to do some light yoga and stretching in the time until I see the doctor 3) (Fox's Sin of Greed, Ban) Push ******* to pay his bills - So, TL;DR - The Husband and I have a mutual friend who is on our phone bill but hasn't actually ever paid for his part of the bill. It started out as a barter where he "sold" me a laptop and that was cool but then I forgot about following up with it and make sure he paid so he's now like a year behind. It's not that he didn't know about it but he has to be reminded constantly about stuff like this - he's just terrible at being an adult. 4) (Death the Kid) 1 hour a week in the junk room - Some people have a junk drawer, we have a junk room. It's just, y'know, where the stuff goes that doesn't go anywhere else. It's time for it to be an actual room. 5) (Yomiko "The Paper" Readman) 15 minutes of editing 2x/week - I have, uh, three editing projects that should have been done forever ago. Need to do them. Gonna work on it.
  19. I'm staying for challenge 2 and really leaning towards challenge 1 as, like, a pre-level challenge/training mode. Not worth any points but good for getting me going and giving me some indicators on things I can work on. I want to be Adventurer class-fancy but I'm definitely not there yet so I'll stick with Rebel for now. :3
  20. Crazy bananas. I'm hoping it's better from here on out? Bahaha. How's KidSith's cooking show? I keep seeing knives on sale and going, "Oh, I wonder if he'd like that one?" lol
  21. Goodwill got picked up, books got dropped off, the living room is clean, the rest of the house no-so-much. I'm planning to do another challenge but I don't know where to post? I thought maybe there'd be a challenge 2 forum?
  22. Sooo, hello! It's been crazy week+ and now the challenge is over! What the heck. Final score: 1) By 01/15, make a doctor appoint to address carpol tunnel and back pain, including making a treatment plan - did, appointment on 2/21 2) Begin grip strength exercises, work up to 3x a week - I mean, sort of? I was for awhile but fell out of practice when work got all whackadoo. 3) Implement spending penalties on non-critical item purchases - designate charity to donate penalties too Money for bringing lunches - yeah, this fell apart too. Great in theory, bad in practice. Today is the first day in, uh, two weeks? that I've brought lunch. Used my pressure cooker last night to (over)cook some chicken breast and then some rice and got it all portioned out AND THEN left it on the stove all night, which sucked, but then I still managed to bring lunch, so points for me! 4) Review expenses with spouse for 30/min, 2x a week - bahahaha, no. 5) Create one EFT per credit card per week to put money towards credit card debt every Monday after payday - also never happened but we've done some good work on making a plan for paying off stuff anyway.
  23. Awesome! Despite everything you faced this month, you did wonderful.
  24. Appointment made! The appointment isn't until 2/21 but it's all set up! At the moment, the books aren't bothering my anxiety. I cleared out roughly 20% of what I had and have some more to go through but books aren't on my radar for stuff that makes my anxiety spike. There are plenty of other things, haha. Goodwill is (in theory) picking stuff up today. I never got a confirmation, so here's hoping!
