  1. My biggest issue is meeting my protein requirements, (and ordering ice cream way to often...) I simply cannot meet those demands consistently, I mean, sure, one day I can eat 700grs chicken (1540lbs), but I should be eating 10lbs of chicken a week (I'm using chicken as an example, I also try to vary with red meat and fish). Mainly because best sources of protein come from animals, and animal meat can't be eat(eaten?) raw. I grew up in a house where portions were soooo small. My parents house was always full of junk food. When it came to dinner we usually had healthy meals, but very small portions, like 100-200grs chicken breast and handful of salad for each (we were 4 at the dinner table). Basically I grew up eating small amounts of healthy meals, and huge amouts of junky snacks to satisfy the hunger/emptyness/boredom of my small plate. Maybe that's how I ended up being skinny fat. Is it really ok to eat 10lbs of chicken/low fat meat/ fish a week? For my it sounds like a Mr Olympia diet ONLY. I'm just an average guy Edit: Oh my god... If I continue eating like an avg guy I will ALWAYS be an avg guy. I mean, why is it so against "normal people's" eating? If I told anyone that I'm eating 10lbs of chicken a week, they'll think I'm crazy.
  2. There are so many different approaches to this! It's overwhelming. I think I get the basic concepts though. I'll try to mix lifting and boxing and eating at maintenance for a few months to see if something changes. If not they'll just progressively eat more or eat less That sounds ok? Thanks 😇 Enviado desde mi XT1032 mediante Tapatalk
  3. Thats how I cook my chicken, vegito Enviado desde mi XT1032 mediante Tapatalk

  5. True true. However, keep in mind that from my total weight of 82kgs, most comes from my organs, bones and fat. I have very little muscle mass, really, my triceps for instance look like the ones on a starved child. I need to up my breakfasts then... I stopped doing those for like a year. I mean the ones where u have to cook something. I just grab a yogurt now, or a piece of fruit and head to work Enviado desde mi XT1032 mediante Tapatalk
  6. Adrianne, I read your initial post only. You need to open your mind sister. Men are atracted to all sort of shapes and sizes, it's whats inside that matters! I know you must have heard this many many times, but it is true! If someone loves you, he will love you for who you are. And believe me, you do not want to be with someone that only likes you because you are skinny. Now, regarding to "being fit" in order to "fit in"... Forget about it. If you wanna be fit, you should do it because it's fun, you release endoprhins, you will have a better and healthier ilfe and... did I mention that it's fun? Don't be so hard on yourself! You need to be your own ally, not your enemy! Life is hard enough as it is to have to keep up fighting against one self. Get to know yourself, get to love yourself! Excersicing regularly, and eating healthy is a tangible way of loving oneself. PS: I am madly in love with an overweight gal, she has been my girlfriend for over 2 years now (I am not overweight myself). She is funny and corky, she makes up funny words and noises, she can cook and knows the arts of manufacturing love.
  7. I made the best home-made burguers last night. Super spicy. Super stanky!

Wow, sorry for the dalay! I didn't know this feed had replies!

I measure everything using my eyes, but this are usually my ingredients:

1 pound of low fat meat

chopped garlic, one or 2 pieces

      white pepper

tobasco sauce or anything SPICY, just a liiiiitle bit

      salt, just a little bit

stir fried onion and bell pepper, just a little bit chopped very small.

This yields 2 normal patys and FAT one, lol.

Just remember to pre heat the cook...

...ing pan with super hot fire to "seal" the paty, once golden brown, lower that flame to medium low, so that the inside will cook propperly.

      Enjoy my friends!

  8. In many different stages of my life I got caught up in my goals and forgot about my friends and family. I thought that I didn't have time for them, that I had to stick to my plans. It took me many years to realise the secret strength of love. With the company and support of those who you love, you can achieve ANYTHING. But most important, you can share your achievements. Share your wins, share your interestets, share the delicious food you cook. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. If you are reading this, send a text to your mom, tell her I say hi. Lol, no seriously, take a moment off from your routines to stay in touch with your loved ones. Fatso out.
  9. I know you are right my friend! I just find it difficult ingesting so much protein each day. It's not like bread or pizza that you can buy everywhere... Most places around my work/house don't sell healthy foods, or if they do, the meat quantity is small. It's funny actually, I live in Argentina, where cow's meat is quality is AMAZING, and still the goverment's daily protein intake recomendation is 75grs, can you believe that? These are my goverment's daily intake recomendations: Total Kcals per day 2000 kcal – 8400 kJ Carbs 300 gramos Proteín 75 gramos Total Fat 55 gramos Saturated Fat 22 gramos Fiber 25 gramos Sodium 2400 miligramos
  10. Son of a mother duck! Just last night I made myself a couple of 1% fat burguers, with all the spicy spices and pepper nomnomnom Warrior seems like a good option! I went to a boxing class last night and I loved it! Had lots of fun and the work out killed me. What about you vegito? What do you want to be become?
  11. Wow thanks for all the wisdom! Tonight a Co worker invited me to box training, im going to try that out and next week I'll start lifting slowly and try a higher intensity lower volume. You know... My last efforts were a workout designed by myself which spined around 4x8 of all the main lifts. I got sick like twice in 2 months. Really antibiotic sick, miss work kinda sick. edit: I went to a boxing class last night and absolutely loved it! Some of the guys there move really well, it's also an inspiration to work as a group.
  12. Hey Slates, thanks for the advice! It never crossed my mind to mantain strength! I always pushed myself trying to add that one more rep and/or pounds! Do you think that doing 5x5 until hitting a plateau and then mantaining that 5x5xweight will do?
  13. Hi RisenPhoenix, thanks for your answer! I'm more interested in loosing the fat first before developing some muscle (is that possible?) If I start bulking now I'm pretty sure that even though I may perhaps build some muscle, I will gain more fat than muscle. I will end up super fat, cry and quit like I always do.
  14. Jake Kaufman releasing a new soundtrack for a new game, Adventures of pip. That made me smile today! For those who don't know, Mr Kaufman composed the MAGNIFICENT Shovel Knight Soundtrack. I am following his work since I played that game. The other OSTs are not as good. But another jewel will eventually rise from virt's dirts.
  15. Hi everybody! Well, even though I am within my healthy weight range, I have a skinny fat shape which I don't like. My stats are: 25 years old 6 feet 7â„16 inch tall / 184cms 180lbs / 82kgs weight I have tried Starting Strength and Strong Lifts programs while eating at caloric deficit and found it impossible to progress, even at the early stages of the program I stalled/plateaued. I did my research on technique and worked on it, I got pretty good at that, but never gained any REAL strength. Like "dayum that dude is strong" kinda strength. For example I could not get over 90lbs 5x5 back squat, I was exhausted on my off days and never fully recovered for my next workouts. The tiredness just built up until I started missing workouts and eventually quit. Apparently my approach was not a smart one. I was eating right, sleeping right, drinking a lot of water every day, and still felt exhausted and suuuuper weak. So my dear fellow nerds, what should I do? What should my next step be? I am currenty at a caloric deficit, ingesting 1800kcals per day and super sedentary, no excercise (except from bumping uglies with my girlfriend) Thanks in advance for your time! Have a great day
  16. Hi vegito! Thanks for your interest and kind words I don't have a rigid diet, I tracked my meals yesterday though and this is the result: Breakfast: 1 cup yogurth black coffee Lunch: 1 portion of spinach tart 1 portion of baked fish with bell peppers and onions (and glorious olive oil and tuscan seasoning of course) Tea: 4 little sandwiches, about 120kcal each, with a small diet coke Dinner: About 250grs of baked skinless chicken breast with carrots, and a tomato and lettuce salad Half a brownie dessert Aprox. total kcal: 1790 I really like healthy foods, and I love cooking! My main weaknesses are pizza and desserts such as ice cream. The problem I encountered with eating ONLY clean foods is that sooner or later I will binge eat like Homer Simpsons at the The Frying Dutchman "All you can eat" restaurant.
  17. This was a very touching introduction. Welcome aboard! U know, there is a movie with Mathey Macsomething, the guy with the soft voice where he is a fugitive in love with a Juniper. Who is also a fugitive. So my question to you is: What are you running from?
  18. Olive oil is awesome. Cut the calories from abother source like bread, sodas, beer, but keep with the olive oil. Olive oil is the tin man's heart
  19. I'm going to keep this short. Here are my goals: 1) Go to the gym at least 3 times a week. 2) Drop at least 3kgs, I'm currently at 82kgs, my goal would be 79kgs. 3) Track ALL of my meals with My Fitness Pal. I have choosen goals that seem easy just to show myself that I can achieve them. Btw, I have never tracked ALL of my meals, nor managed to excersice 3x a week. I'll be posting pics later on
  20. Hi Animae, I can only say that we do what we always did and will always do that. When suddenly you want to change an aspect of your life, your habits don't care. They just want to keep doing what they know how to do; eat whatever, train whenver, just get through the day and try to be as happy as possible. That is why trying to loose weight is so damn rough! You need to plan everything and have your guard up to prevent falling into old habits. Pick one habit, work really hard changing that one habit. The only habit I conciously managed to change is drinking water. If I could, you MOST CERTAINLY can! Stay strong.
  21. Wait, that doesn't rhyme... Anywjay, greetings to everyone here at Nerd Fitness! I've been reading the blog for quite some months now and find it really insteresting! I'm 25 years old, 184cms high, 82kgs, I live in Argentina and I'm a lifelong skinny fat dude who just had to learn how to live with a mild case of the man boobs. My history with training and physical activity. When I was in highschool I sucked at everything. I had to play rugby, but I was tall and bulky for that age, I was also in like the 5th division, so I just ran with the ball as the opposite team midgets 14 year old players just hung on to me until I eventually fell down. Fast forward 10 years, I read Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe and started going to the gym, learning the basic moves, perfecting my form. I started lifting more weight, I have woman's strength really, 42kg back squat 5x5 was my all time max. I eated whatever, somedays healthy, somedays junk. I never really made any progress... I mean yes, when I first hit the gym I struggled to bench press JUST the bar. Then I gradually got to like 45kg 5x5 (which is still weak AF). I have learned a LOT by failing. The most valuable lesson I found was the simple notion that this fatloss deal requires almost perfect consistency both training and diet wise. Well, that's has been my experience with the fitness world. I also have a job, love books, movies, play the alto sax and make love like a god (by my own standards of course) tl:dr version: Hi all I'm skinnyfat Will die skinnyfat Play the sax and like to read (sometimes) Thx for reading.
