  3. Epic Quest: Run my own Business New Year=new energy, new life, and new adventure! I’m so excited for what this year will bring! I will be starting my own business in the spring. I have a lot to learn though and a lot of things that need to get done before I register my business. So here we go! Journey to the Bottom of the Ocean I'm going to the deep unknown this month, to start the new year right and to gain experience for my budding business. This is all about freediving and breath holding. I want to improve my flexibility along with my leg (tail) strength as well. I need to be powerful enough and have a great breath hold in order to explore the dark depths. Build Tail Strength My tail is quite heavy out of water and I can’t assume there will always be a sailor willing to carry me to and fro at my leisure. Now in the water it’s almost weightless, but I have to displace a lot water while I swim in order to propel myself faster or dive. I need to gain tail strength to lift my tail on land and to dive deeper on less air. M-strength training, W-yoga, F-body weight training. Swim the Distance They don’t call it 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for nothing! I'm setting out to improve my endurance in and out of tail by swimming at least 300m a week (100m Monofin swim, 100m mermaid swim, 100m free swim). That's just the minimum, but I will be adding 25m each time I swim if I can. Training Under the Pressure Get it? The deeper you go the greater the pressure? But in all seariousness (oh yes I love terrible puns), this is only a pass or fail, unless it takes longer than expected. I will work on getting freediver certified this month. Send Word of my Journey’s End Once I return form my journey I must tell everyone what I've learned and what I've seen. At the end of the challenge once (if) I get certified, I will notify my agents along with sending my updated portfolio photos. Side QuestsWith any good Journey, there's always side quests to complete. These little add-ons will not give me any attribute stats, but will instead contribute to my XP once the EPIC QUEST page is launched. These are things I need to work often throughout the year. Quests are as follows: Linguistic Mastery Learn 280 Vocab words this monthGold KeepingSave $10 this monthKnowledge ExpansionRead 2 books this month

  5. Spezzy seriously thank you! To you and everyone who makes NF playable and enjoyable to the community. I guess we're just all really excited for the update! I'm extremely excited to share NF with my friends and my other forums. So thank you for all your hard work! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. I GOT TO SWIM IN MY TAIL FOR THE FIRST EVER TODAY!!!!! Now to be fair swimming in my tail is honestly no different than swimming in just my monofin. Maybe I get just a tad bit more drag. But I don't know seeing a mermaid shadow in the pool and looking down to see scales...I couldn't stop smiling. And I practiced my "emergency" procedure so when I finally go to the aquatics director to demonstrate my competency I'll be super confident in my skills. Man I'm so happy! 8. I would say Ranger. I think it's be a good balance of all things needed to train in weaponry. All those things mentioned, to me, seem like a subset of gymnastics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Now with the clarification I LOVE the adventures guild description! I think I'd be joining adventurers whenever I'm traveling or have another adventure coming up. And with the 4 week challenge and the few days rest time it makes it absolutely perfect! Ex. I can be an assassin in January and an adventurer in February since that's when my next adventure is. Now I'm REALLY loving this update! 2016 is going to be great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Thank you SpecialSundae and Syren (btw LOVE your forum name!), I really was stumped! Now with my dilemma resolved, I'm really looking forward to these new changes! 4-week challenges sounds great, because I also struggle with losing steam towards the end. And character creation? I mean when was that ever a not great thing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hmmmmm.....where would freediving fall in the new class system?
  14. I do, it's just so difficult at the moment with the language barrier. I will try my luck with online videos and see if I can find something I like. I may just have to wait until I move back to the US in order to take ballet classes. Bellydancing sounds like fun, I tried it out for a bit when I was younger. Isolations are fun!
  15. How did my Challenge end? Pretty well. Towards the end I lost focus and will power. But I maintained my 73kg all the way through. As for other things....I didn't do well. But I'll just tally up and show you: Get Dressed: +0.75 STR, +1.5 STA, +0.75 DEX B - 13-17 days Bring Wedding Presents: +1 WIS, +1 CHA C - 10 gifts acquired Enjoy the Banquet: +1.5 CON B - 31-41 days Dance the night away: +0 DEX, +0 STR, +0 STA, +0 CHA F - No classes Totals: STR 0.75 | DEX 1.75 | STA 2.5 | CHA 1 | CON 2.5 | WIS 2
  16. Hey Calibre, if you need my Fire Flower, it's all yours! Good luck mate!
  17. Empty a 12-ounce bag of fresh or frozen cranberries into a saucepan and transfer ½ cup to a small bowl. Add 1 cup sugar, 1 strip orange or lemon zest and 2 tablespoons water to the pan and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries are soft, about 10 minutes. Increase the heat to medium and cook until the cranberries burst, about 12 minutes. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the reserved cranberries. Add sugar, salt and pepper to taste and cool to room temperature before serving *I also added a splash of pure orange juice. My Review: Great! While it was ok with the turkey it was GREAT with ice cream. Taste Tester: "It's good" as he helped himself to heaping second and third portions during dinner.
  18. Hey everyone, I don't need my fire flower since I've done the Yoshi challenge (totally forgot the cranberry sauce I made has orange peel in it), plus I'm waaaaaay to busy for static holds. I'm afraid I won't make the deadline. First one to ask, it's yours!
  19. WOW! Thanks Trewest, thanks to the star, and my long commute to Tokyo, I can long my 6 miles yesterday as 600 on the spreadsheet!! WOOO! UPDATE: I looked back at my other days I worked and now I'm up to 1200. Craaaaaazy~
  20. I would like the star! I'm managing to complete the levels, but this week will be very busy so nI'll need all the help I can get!
  21. WEEK TWO REPORT Week two has gone ok. Unfortunatly, it was so busy I wasn't able to do yoga or swimming. But I still managed to track my calories everyday, even at Disney and still am maintaining my 73kg. As for gifts, I'll be taking the time tomorrow to make a shopping list for each box I plan to send out. I will also get said boxes so I can have them set up when I buy and wrap the gifts. As for ballet, this is actually my hardest quest. The language barrier is large when i come to setting up the class and to get dance gear is actually very expensive. It's putting me very behind on my quest. I've decided until I can buy dancing supplies and pay for the classes, I will take online classes so i can at least have a shot at completing this quest. However, I'm not going to give up on taking one-on-one classes. In other news I received my tail last week and can't wait for our trip to Okinawa in December so I can finally test it out in the water and become proficient in emergency removal so I can have permission to swim at the pool by my house. I've also been invited to try Hot Yoga this week so I'm looking forward to that. Week 3 is looking to be a good mid-challenge week.
  22. WEEK ONE REPORT Week one is done! I've managed to track my calories everyday all week. I was mostly over, but have gotten better at managing as the week went by. As for swimming, since I got sick and congested, I wasn't able to do any swimming for fear of reverse blocking. Before bed, I will do some yoga and tomorrow I'm going to the ballet studio to sign up for classes and hopefully start a first lesson. But so far, the first week has gone great!
  23. Yup! Since this challenge is at a very easy pace, I don't feel the need to post as much as I did in previous challenges. But I do try to update my progress bars whenever I can.
  24. I love hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy! I really need to read the whole series! Great goals and good luck!!!
  25. AH! The start of a new challenge. And I'm sick! I technically started yesterday by tracking my calories (which unfortunately I went 300 over, but I didn't even go for a walk so honestly it's my fault), but today I'm going to do some yoga. As much as I'd LOVE to go swimming, I'm still congested which makes clearing my ears nearly impossible. But I DID order my tail and today is my 100th day of my embarkation of mermaiding. I think I'll post a video to celebrate.....who knows. I LOVE BALLET SO MUCH! And yet haven't been to a single professional recital and haven't gotten back into dancing since I was in middle school! But that changes NOW! I wish you luck and will root for you on your challenge page! Yes he is! One day I will see the Russian Ballet perform The Nutcracker, it's a big dream of mine. Thanks! I'm hoping I'lll have a better time sticking to it! Thank you! Good luck with your's as well!
