  1. Hiiii! It's September, which means a new Delta on board magazine - this month featuring "5 ways to do Boston." Saw this and thought of you . Also, the UA gymnastics commercial - [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]. Also also, North Carolina you say? Whereabouts? [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Whaddaya know, I'm still alive! I did some lifts last weekend - 77/80/83x and 94/97/100x at 83 bodyweight. So so numbers for me - neither horrible nor great. I don't have access to the spreadsheet though - can someone punch me in?
  3. Masters weightlifting 4lyfe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Sorry about the Jayhawks, you had to know that was coming as soon as you decided to watch. Congratulations on the no-fatigue and the weight loss and the house! Glad you're here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Whoa, hey rob! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Sinclair doesn't normalize between women and men. The women's Sinclair ratio is to get to what you would theoretically lift as a 75+, where the men's Sinclair ratio is to get to what Niccolo would lift as a 105+. I think I saw a rough swag on Reddit that you would multiply a women's Sinclair by 1.44 to normalize to men's, but that's not a perfect science either since Sinclair is based on WRs and the women's world records still aren't as mature. 7. Did some lifts. They were super shitty. 74/77x/77x snatch 90/94x/94x c&j 81.5 bw https://youtu.be/7CltzvSiVL0 (Also, I can't update the sheet on mobile - can someone add my results?) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Week 2 update! Did some more workouts: Full lifts went way better than last week, so thumbs up there. Jerks continue to be the weak point. Jerked out of the rack up to a heavy single yesterday - up through 95 without much trouble. Couldn't quite stick 100 (but it was really close). Goals! 1) Less good about extra credit. I got my dip bars mounted in the garage, and have been getting a fair amount of those in, but could still stand some more band work. 2) Career stuff in motion - interviewing for that new position this week, but still not sure what I want to do. More conversations to be had yet. 3) I actually took some pictures this week! I still suck at this, but here's some shots anyway. This is from the Valentine's bouquet for Mrs Roo. I don't think there's anything particularly unique or creative about this shot, but flowers are pretty so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Sidenote, had these pegged for her office since she is actually working in an office for the first time in a few years, but Baby Roo got sick so she had to stay home on Friday. Oh well, I tried. I was playing Carcasonne Jr with Lil Roo, and for the first time, he really figured out the game and was super proud of it. Used that as an opportunity to try and take an interesting picture. Didn't really love any of them, but hated this one the least. And then I threw a black hat (3 double bulls) in darts for the first time ever. I'm a relatively good dart thrower, but I've never managed to pull that off before (and I don't even want to think about how many thousands of darts I've thrown over the years). I've hit 180 a number of times (3 treble 20s), which is actually worth more point wise, but there's something pretty exciting about squeezing 3 darts into that tiny bullseye. Anyway, again challenged myself to take an interesting picture of it, and came away with my favorite shot of the weekend. I was having a conversation with one of my friends afterward, and we were discussing that as novices, it's easy to get seduced by macro shots like this, since the detail and depth of field are things we aren't used to seeing. I really need to get outside and work more on composition, but all in due time I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  11. You guys can just consolidate in this thread, I'm sure Raptron won't mind . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I feel you on the paczki - it's a big deal in the Detroit area, not so much down here :/. Also, that floor routine made sportscenter, so that's cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. It's more that the cleaner comes in and cleans the counters, mops the floors, scrubs the bathrooms, etc, and they can't do that if our dishes, toys, and dirty laundry are still all over the place. As much as a pain in the ass as it is to scramble to get everything picked up (as it is every week), it at least forces us to do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Absolutely, food scales for sandwiches are the best. Weigh bread (I often buy round loaves or things with uneven slice sizes), zero scale, add (meat/cheese/peanut butter/whatever), zero scale, repeat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. None of that bothers me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yeah, that was one bummer about leaving the Midwest. There's no good pizza down here . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. You guys are in Chicago, right? (I miss Chicago) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Eating a whole crock full of cold chili? I mean, that's what I'd do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Brief week one recap: -Pretty good about extra credit...I think I only missed one day? -Interesting career stuff happened. I posted for a new position at work, and now the senior leadership in my current group is trying to talk me into staying. I'll talk more about this at some point, but tl;dr - good to have options I guess. -Didn't get the camera out once, whoops. Diet has been mostly on point for the past 3-4 weeks - been on a little mini cut to shed some holiday fluff before we go on vacation in a couple weeks. Had one outsized day on Saturday, celebrating my brother-in-law's birthday, but other than that have been dialed in, and scale and mirror are both reflecting it, so yay. Speaking of that dinner on Saturday - I had camel for the first (and last) time. We went to a really interesting butcher shop/farm-to-table restaurant, and they apparently do some more exotic meats. The waiter says "the only thing on the menu that isn't local tonight is the camel" and I'm all "...um, did you say camel?" He says it's comparable to beef and to order it like you would order a steak and that people have been liking it soooo, fuck it, I gave it a shot. I can't even describe how meh it was. Like, it wasn't bad, but it looked and tasted exactly like an Outback steak. Not exactly what I was hoping for from the farm-to-table butcher shop, ha. Oh well, live and learn. And now I can say I've tried camel. Week 2 underway! Squats are still feeling heavier than I think they should, but no troubles this time at least. Been a while since I've done any block lifts, and I forgot how much I like them. I feel so fast! They weren't all great, but more happy with them than not. Ran out of mental focus juice by the end (tried to get this sesh in while also watching the kiddos, so was distracted a fair amount), so snatch balances weren't awesome, but that's life. 20. Woohoo, congrats PH! Thanks for the update WR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I had heard that, but didn't give it that long. I actually almost turned it off when Scully was like "did you see that thing on the net?" Don't get me wrong, I ride for 90s x-files, but in the age of shows like Mr Robot, you've gotta be better than that, ha. Lol, was already feeling weak today. You're not helping. (But srsly, hey there!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. There's a Y in my office building where I usually train during the week. Lifting in lbs is a pain in the ass, and the bars all suck, but it sure is convenient. And he's not covering his face, he's dabbing, ha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. 5 sets of 3. But it was actually 3 sets because awful. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Ok, gym today. In which Roo tries to weightlifting but oh no! Seriously, just terrible today. I feel like the Monstars stole my talent. Weights I shouldn't have any problem with, but was really struggling. Had trouble just supporting C&Js overhead, and missed half of my snatches. The ones I did make were super sketch, and with terrible footwork. Squats started to shed some light on the problem - I couldn't keep good posture and kept getting pitched forward. I think my back was still tired from deads on Wednesday. They weren't that many or that heavy, but apparently my back disagrees. Either that or I'm just old. Equally likely. Presses were fine, but yeah, awful session. Need a mulligan on this one. Anyway, enough bitching, happy weekend everyone! Go Panthers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
