  1. I'm sure someone on NF has a decent protein flapjack recipe they could share
  2. That'd be handy, I think the nearest one to me is about 100 miles away :/
  3. That's what my own research has told me, so good to get confirmation. As soon as my redundancy payout comes through, I'll be booking myself onto the first stage Foundation workshop to get myself moving in the right direction.
  4. It depends on your goals really, but you're about my age and height, with a bit of extra weight, and your lifts are about where mine were when I came off StrongLifts, so I don't imagine you'd have that much more to be gained from going back to SS now. Personally, I'd say keep going with 531, but make sure that you've got it programmed for what you really need. The right assistance work, the right daily split, etc.
  5. My goal is sports-fitness training, things like getting on the staff at a cricket or rugby club. Not sure I'll get there, but definitely won't if I don't try. I'm not in Scotland though, I'm an adopted Yorkshireman.
  6. Another one on my list to play. Got it free on the Xbox a few months back when it was in their Games with Gold deal
  7. Always good to hear of another entry into the world of competition. Sounds like some good results too.
  8. Oh, I plan to. I'm something of a completionist, so I'll be exploring everything
  9. I've got both of those, yet to play either of them though. Will probably blitz them both over the summer.
  10. Good stuff! Bet it feels good to have that hard work paying off. I'm still looking into options for where to get started on my own coaching journey, hoping to use this down time after finishing work on Friday to get that moving. Any suggestions you can give me on where to start?
  11. Protein shakes? Homemade Chocolate protein cookies/flapjacks? As for the deadlifts, it may be a good idea to invest in some deadlift straps to allow you to continue working the larger muscles after the hands/grip have started to struggle.
  12. You're progressing well. The jokers and back off sets make it a much more complete program, giving both volume and intensity every session
  13. Not directly, but I know where my weaknesses are, and the lats rank as one of my worst, so I try to fit in some extra lat work when I can. In theory I have Pendlays in my schedule twice a week, but in practice I haven't been doing much of my assistance work. One upside of being out of work is that I'll not be able to use time as an excuse for not getting them done, which means there should be more assistance done every session. I also tend to lift fasted, just due to timing and see little difference in just a day. Consistent aggressive deficit I notice.
  14. Thanks. If nothing else, it's a decent pay off. Also means I get to spend less of the summer chained to a desk
  15. Session Log Tuesday 30th June 2015 Bench 5x50kg 5x57.5kg 10x65kg 1x80kg OHP 5x10x25kg 10 reps on my 5+ set is my best ever. Fueled no doubt by anger over getting made redundant.
  16. There is for me. There was on squats when I started out too, but then I got to 100kg for 5x5 without any trouble at all and 100kg squats stopped feeling like a big deal. Bench though, yeah, feels like a bloody mountain.
  17. I'm the opposite. Jaymul has about the same maxes as me, but I'm about 6kg heavier.
  18. Shaving pits? What foolery is this? I barely shave my face.
  19. Was going to get more sleep last night, but the heat & humidity coupled with news of impending redundancy kept we awake well past midnight.
  20. Session Log Monday 29th June 2015 Squat 5x107.5kg 5x125kg 7x142.5kg 1x160kg Too hot & humid for anything magic, but 7 reps is the most I've got at that weight and the heaviest I've ever done for more than 5 reps by quite a margin. The 160kg was paused too, which can't hurt
  21. Session Log Friday 26th June 2015 OHP 5x35kg 3x40kg 5x45kg 1x50kg Bench Press 5x10x40kg OHP went well, 1+ set yielding 5 reps, almost at my 5RM, good stuff.
  22. Session Log Tuesday 25th June 2015 Deadlift 5x112.5kg 3x127.5kg 1x142.5kg Did the minimum and got out.
  23. Been a bit quiet in here. Squatting last night felt like training in Satan's butt crack thanks to the heat & humidity. Wish I had A/C in my cave.
  24. Week 2 didn't go so well, mostly on the sleep front. 4/4 training sessions. No excessively late or short nights, but was down around the 45-46 hours mark, only just acceptable. Cooked twice. Week 3 is going ok so far. 2nd training session due tonight 14 hours sleep over 2 nights Haven't cooked yet, may do so tonight.
