  1. I've been following the start bodyweight basic routine and I found this to be really helpful. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks for the advice .... I was just equating my knowledge from lifting weights to this but I guess it's pretty different ... I'll give this a shot Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  3. Well I am trying to hit every body part while allocating enough rest. I was finding that I was hitting chest so hard with those pushups that I felt the every other day was too much. Last time I tested myself about a month ago or so I was at 60 good form pushups max. So I've already got the beginner gains on that. The chinups I'm still doing every other day because I don't feel like I'm overdoing it. To be honest the legs and shoulders were an after thought that I worked in. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  4. Hi Everyone I'm new to this forum and have been looking for a good place to talk about using bodyweight exercises to build strength and muscle so I hope I'm in the right place. I was a former heavy weight lifter for many years, turn lethargic. I've been doing martial arts for years, but I stopped lifting several years ago. Recently I've gotten into body weight exercises, starting with 6 week 100 pushups challenge which I started in Jan . I've now incorporated several other exercises into my workout and developed a split and want to know if you all feel like I'm over training. Day 1 -Pushups 5 sets basically to failure (to stimulate pecs, lateral triceps head, and core stabilizer muscles) -Inclined Triangle pushup or skull crushers using my bodyweight on gymnast rings (to stimulate long and medial triceps head) -chins/pullups 5 sets -isometric hold at top position on gymnast rings (triceps and core) Day 2 -bodyweight squats to parallel 5 sets -bodyweight good morning - variety of calf raises -reverse curl up 5 sets (abs) Day 3 -chin ups/pull ups 5 sets -handstand pushup (still working on these) -rows on gymnast rings along with holds 2 sets -biceps curl on gymnast rings - 2 sets Day 4 Rest I've also been doing a 30 day plank challenge to build up to 300 seconds which will be incorporated into my leg day. Thoughts? Should I spread out the split to 5 days? Thx Nick Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
