New Aikido belt is wayyy too long but its the smallest size the school has. Anyone have tips on how to shorten it? I use the 'superlock' method (learnt it off the rener gracie YT video)

update: went to 4 tailors in my neighbourhood, they said it was too thick to alter and their needles would break or something like that.
