  1. Damn it Willy, I'll never catch you on squats... I did a bunch of triples with 100kg today and it felt like death. You are getting really strong my friend!
  2. T-bar rows are AWESOME. You can feel your back muscles crying for mercy after each set. The downside is that, once you are over 70kg or so worth of plates, the unloaded end of the barbell may lift and the whole thing could slide forward. I found putting something heavy over the free end of the BB solves this
  3. And make you feel bad when your bench isn't getting better and your gym buddy is benching like Bruce Willis in "Unbreakable" BOOM
  4. This makes me want to try running. Buy I know I'll probably go NOPE after 5 blocks if that
  5. Heck yeah! Glad your CBT sessions are going well. CBT does not have much street cred around these parts, mostly due to the University of Buenos Aires being overtly psychonalitic.
  6. True. Especially considering what Netflix charges for their service. Loving the zombie theme, following!
  7. Yay, musical numbers! Pretty much my every challenge wrap-up of this year Following!
  8. Great progress, brother! And this is why you are indisputably the best.
  9. This last few days went fine. My strength is not where I want it to be and it's taking more than I had anticipated, but it just feels incredible to be back under the bar. That week without lifting seemed to last forever and I don't wanna spend that much time out of the gym unless is totally unavoidable. I had an appointment with a nutritionist today, which was really meh. After asking me about my eating habits, food preferences, etc. I was especting some sort of customized (to a minimum extent) meal plan. Instead she printed a pre-made plan and handed it to me like it was the Dragon Scroll. Said plan contained some foods that are a bit of a head ache to pack for lunch and some that I had explicitly told her upset my degestive system such as pasta or bread. While l don't plan on following the diet plan to the letter, I recon the weekly weigh-in and BF% meassurement will be of much help for keeping me on track. Let's face it, if I didn't stuff my face with bad food and beer on the weekends I'd be much leaner today.
  10. I bet that's a rather interesting story. Hope it gets returned to you asap!
  11. It has been kicking my butt so far. The worst part was the cough. But I'm feeling better now. Thanks! I'd say black plague Thanks! 10/09/2017 - Monday First day back at the gym. I still have random cough attacks that make me buckle but it seems that during exercise they are less frecuent. I'm taking the prescribed medication and it shouldn't last more than a few more days. Deadlifts went alright. Final working set was a 120kgx5 that felt like 200. This week I won't be hitting PRs, instead I'll get my body used to working out again. By next week I should be back on track
  12. Been in full plague protocol since Friday. I had planned to go lift today but it's just not happening. The cough is so harsh my whole body aches from it and my head is beating like a drum. Working at a call center isn't helpful either...
  13. HIT A SQUAT PR! 100.5kg (221lbs) for 5 reps. I might have caught a mild cold today. I'll go in full evasive meassures (hot tea and rest) because tomorrow I can't skip work or I"ll get in trouble - besides, I don't feel like skipping the gym either. Damn rain...
  14. Yeah. That's pretty much it but without the horned helmet. -------------------- OHP Tuesday went as prescribed. Being only 5 reps per set, the chin ups were performed without any assistance. I'll end up trying weighted chin ups at some point, if not on the last week of 5x5 most definetly at the 10x3 phase. Yesterday was conditioning day or as my gym partner and I JOKINGLY call it, butt-sighting 'n treadmill day. In reality, we do 10' AMRAP or EMOM workouts to add some conditioning to the routine. Today is squats. My knee does not feel like it's gonna act up, but I'll be careful not to overlook any signs of pain.
  15. Here's a little prayer by P. Waggener. I'm trying to memorize it for times when willpower is not at it's strongest. "If I am to be drunk let it be on blood and conquest. If I am to be stimulated let it be through trial and ordeal. Let me find intoxication in glory and honor. Let my ecstasy come from rituals of strength and communion with nature. My body is a chariot for the smokeless fire. When I fuel it, let it be to achieve my destiny, to become stronger, to be pure and free of poisons. Let me crucify my past self on the altar of Iron and Blood, so that I may obtain the hidden flame."
  16. Luckly for me, the knee seems to be fine. It is still a bit sensitive and bruised on the outside, but I can walk normally. Squats have me a little worried though. My knee feels a bit stiff prefoming bodyweight squats. I'll procede with caution on Thursday untill I make sure it is safe to go heavy. 09/25/2017 - Monday Week 2 Phase II: Enter 5x5 Deadlifts went fine. Reached the prescribed weight of 260# without issues. My grip is still the weakest point in my DLs as proven by the rack pulls which couldn't be finished because the bar just ripped off of my hand. My nutrition has not been stellar this weekend, but it wasn't terrible either.
  17. Hell yeah, man. Just hell yeah Also congrats on the lifting progress
  18. 09/21/2017 - Thursday Week 1 Skwaaat day. Reached the prescribed weight of 92.5kg, which is an all time PR. I banged my knee pretty bad doing box jumps so I couldn't complete the fourth set of front squats. That also ment I had to skip KM because I could not walk without pain. Rest, antiinflamatory pills and heat-cold cycles took care of the pain good enough to allow further training. 09/22/2017 - Friday Week 1 Bench was good. Weight goals were reached and my knee didn't get in the way too much. Had pork and avocado for lunch. Dinner was beef and tortilla
  19. I don't. But it certainly saddens me that it has to be like this these days You heard the song. Boys don't cry (well, maybe a little when they run out of bacon) sadly/luckly tasers are not legal to carry around these parts, or I might had Pepper spray on the other hand is perfectly legal... 09/20/2017 - Wednesday Week 1 For my conditioning I did a 10' workout AMRAP -15 KB swings to overhead - ~20m KB farmer carries - 9 burpees Used 21kg kettlebells for both the swings and the farmer carries. Did not make time for breakfast today. Big no no. Without the eggwhites and bacon I'll be pressed to reach my protein goal.
  20. Cold brewed coffee makes it even worse. I'll try instant coffee tomorrow and if that does not work I'll just keep on drinking it plain. 09/19/2017 - Tuesday Week 1 OHP went good. Had a rough time on chinups though, but to bee fair my back was already sore from yesterdays Deadlifts. Met the goals I had set for this workout and after that I switched to lighter weights(especially on DB press) because as my muscles fatigued my left shoulder felt a little wobbly. Lunch was as keto as it gets: Stake and eggs, because I had nothing else to pack for lunch at work . It was good for a change, but I missed the vegetables. I just relized I forgot to eat the hardboiled egg I pack for snacktime. Thank goodness I left it in the fridge at the office and not on my desk or something like that. My sister bought an ukelele some time ago and, like many of her impulsive purchases, she used 3 times at the most. She asked me to sell it on the internet and I got a buyer, who was supposed to be an exchange student. Everybody told me that it was too dangerous to meet a stranger on a subway station and that, for all I knew, the "student" could be a 240lbs dude with a knife and on and on... Needless to say I got a little weary but showed up anyway. By the time I arrived at the meeting point my head was on a swivel, looking for the provervial "bad guy" but there she was; this small, shy, super polite girl from North Carolina, wanting to buy an ukelele as her own birthday present because(local friends aside) she was all alone in a foreign country. She even tried to pay me more than agreed for making me go there instead of picking it up by my workplace or something, FFS! Then I went home thinking to myself This goes to show how sometimes we city dwellers are so acustomed to assholes, thieves and scammers that we assume everybody is out there to get us.
  21. 09/18/2017 - Monday Week 1 Deadlifts were fine. Didn't get to do my rack pulls because I had to go back to the office but the main lift went as prescribed. I purchased an all-natural whey protein a few weeks ago. It has verifiable purity certifications from the national food regulation agency which is nice, but is flavorless and by that I mean watery milk flavor. Adding some coffee might make it more palatable.
  22. I'm antisocial AF and didn't had any actual CF friends. That said, we'd suffer and struggle side by side on the WODs, yell at the top of our lungs for a partner to get that PR and compete with each other. That I do miss. When I stopped attending I let my coach know and that was it. Nobody else had my mobile number and is no secret that my FB profile get less use than a pair of pants on a bachelor's flat. When you gotta fart, yo gotta fart. Holding a fart while lifting can cause you to pop a disk. That's a medical fact (?)
