  1. So, I’ve been a member of these forums for almost a decade. Not active entire time obviously. I’ve had alot of battles with my weight and I’m definitely on the losing side at the moment. I have got up my absolute heaviest at the moment which is just shy of 240. It honestly upsets me to even type that number out. I find myself dealing with back pain and shortness of breath so bad that I feel winded after climbing a set of stairs. I need to do something or I’m on my way to being a diabetic and possibly worse. This place has always been great and supportive and I look forward to sharing with everyone. This time around it’s not just about looking better , it’s about my life.
  2. Also did 10 burpees today. I really can't wait for these to get easier. And then just add more and make it hard all over again [emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
  3. Did 45 minutes of weight training today. I really need to start working on cleaning up my diet again but for now moving around seems to helping me feel better. That spicy ramen just keeps calling my name and I can't resist it's siren song.
  4. if you're feeling burned out the thing I used to like to do (I'm just now getting back into my routine) was to switch things up. Try some new exercises, try some new equipment, do anything to make it interesting!
  5. Today I did 45 minutes of weight training and 10 burpess per my new goals listed in my re introduction. I'll be more specific with the weight training logs in the future but for now I'm really just concerned about getting up and moving.
  6. welcome! wishing you luck on all your goals and hope that you get to feeling better soon!
  7. I've been away from the site, and fitness, for many years. I was in pretty good shape after first discovering the site not long after it was formed and was very active in the forums. However, In the past 7 years I've slowly drifted away from exercise and now to the point where I don't do it at all. I've gained a bunch of weight, especially over the past two years, and have come to weigh in at 240lbs. This is more than I have ever weighed and it is starting to take a toll on my physical health and mental health. I find myself out of breath from simple activities such as walking up stairs and playing with my kids. I'm ready to get back on it and I figure that this place helped so much the first time, that coming back just makes sense. I look forward to meeting new people and getting back in shape. Goals that I've set for myself : Run another 5k in the spring with a goal of under 30 minutes. walk/run at least 2 times per week for 45 minutes each session. Weight train at home 3 times per week for 45 minutes each session. 10 burpees per day Lose 10lbs by the end of the year.
  8. If you do enter a race you'll be amazed how much faster your time will be due to just being around others. It's really awesome.
  9. Ok, that's pretty much what I was looking at. This area seems to be between $100 and $150
  10. Another quick question for you guys and gals. What are the prices of membership in your area? I'm looking at different gyms here and there are some big price gaps. I don't want to pay too little because i'm afraid there is a reason for that, I've had bad experiences with cheap gyms, and also don't want to overpay.
  11. I've recently made my way back to the forums as well. Your situation seems eerily like my own. Good luck!
  12. Your sir are catching the running bug! This is how it started for me, just out of nowhere and then before I knew it I was out running my first 5k...then 8k. I started about where you are at now weight wise and mentally. You are going to be floored just how much depression will lift by exercising on a normal basis. Welcome!
