  1. Nice work on the workouts dude. I know what you mean about the eating temptations. I am a comfort eater (drinker). My wife and I have been killing it diet wise but last night I got home after a crappy day at work. I had 3 glasses of wine and a quarter cup of chocolate chips. I need to NOT do that. You are a machine though!
  2. Awesome workouts bro! Keep it up!
  3. I use the Square Foot Gardening method. Actually, my wife does. I do the building and I made the irrigation system. She does everything else. We also start everything from seed. You are supposed to be able to put one tomato plant per foot but they get so big it becomes a mess. So last year we did tomato then basil every other. Then peppers one per foot. Carrots can be I think 12 per foot. Same with onion and lettuce. You wouldn't believe how much salad you can get from 4 sq ft. Plus you can replant throughout the year. SO we start two ft, then a few weeks later plant more lettuce. That way we always have some ready. Those tomato picture don't even touch everything we got. Marigolds in the corners. Basil near the tomatoes keeps away tomato parasites. We are just starting our seedlings now. Rocks work for the garden but I like them raised up for two big reasons. One, weeds. It keeps them to a minimum but it does take a lot more dirt. Two, you don't have to bend down as far and you can sit on the edge if you want.
  4. Awesome! Nice work. I am very lax when it comes to filling in my journal.
  5. We have been growing our own vegetables for the last two years in summer. I haven't bought a can of tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, or jams since then. Not to mention the unheard of quantities of caprese salad and tossed salads I eat over the summer. I'm still using up our shallots and onions. We have two 4X8 raised beds and I am putting in two more this year. For anyone not sure how to make a raised bed it's simple. Mine are 18" high. The only tools you need are a hammer and nails. I use pressure treated. This is safe as they no longer use arsenic. Get these from your local big box store. Almost every store will cut lumber for you. For each raised bed you need: 1 4"X4"'X8' 9 2"X6"X8' Have them cut them cut the 4X4 into 4 pieces 2 feet. Then cut 3 of the 2X6X8 in half. Lay down two of the 4X4 and nail 3 of the short 2X6 to them. Repeat one more time. You know have two ends. Then nail the 8' 2X6 boards to the sides 3 per side. Boom! Done in about 15 minutes. Fill garden soil. Boom garden ready to grow. Two beds will cost you less than $100.
  6. This mornings 5am workout: Jump rope for a couple minutes warm up Ring Straight Arm Hold 3X 2 seconds Ring Horizontal Pullup 1X10, 1X6, 1X8 Ring Dips 2X7, 1X2 Ring Pushups 1X15, 2X12 Piston Squat 3X2 - Tried holding a DB in front of me per BigM and Waldo's suggestions. This definitely helped me do it. I have a week point in the lower middle section. I can get initially moving then there is a point before me legs are 90 degrees where I run out of power and have to really grind it out. Then I am find the rest of the way up. I would say today was more like skill building on these and less like a workout. Overall this was not me best workout. I felt like I was just going through the motions and not really into it. I even forgot my leg raises. I will do those tonight when I get home. I may also do some more squats. I had some wine last night. I need to lay off of that for the rest of the weekend. I feel like i am doing pretty well on this challenge. I measured my stomach and it is going down for sure. I wish I had taken measurements on my legs in more than one place. I usually just measure the largest part of my thigh but I have lost some fat around my lower thigh area around my knee. I can see a visible difference. My weight has been staying around 195-192 depending on the day so I must be putting on muscle somewhere. All the measurements seem the same except my stomach. Strange. I will do some good measurements tonight.
  7. Nice work BigM. Tried the holding the DB during the pistol squat. You and Waldo were right . It definitely helped.
  8. Epic workout as usual Waldo. Pretty amazing stuff. Tried the holding the DB during the pistol squat. You and BigM were right . It definitely helped.
  9. Hey Vector, Welcome aboard! Good luck on the challenge!!
  10. Friday's workout: Run intervals on the treadmill. 3 minutes warm up. 7 sprints as fast as I can run on the treadmill with 1 minute light jog in between. Then 3 minute cool down. Saturdays's workout: I didn't get to do a whole workout. I had to go to my Mom's for her birthday and I had some how maintenance work to do before that. So while waiting for the shower to warm up I did: push ups: 2X30 (one set with ym fat cat sitting on my back!) body weight squats: 2X35 My diet has been going pretty well. I was off-paleo for my mothers birthday but I am back at it. My weight went right up from that non-paleo meal. I am hoping that goes back down in a couple days.
  11. Wow dude you are killing it!
  12. Awesome! I am pretty certain I will probably pick it up.
  13. I am exhausted just reading that workout!
  14. Thanks Waldo. I will give it a shot tomorrow when I do my workout. Todays workout: Run some intervals on treadmill 20 minutes. Wall Handstand practice Crowstand practice
  15. Awesome! I am also very weak in the pulling exercises. I have been doing my quasi ring workout for about 3 weeks. I am only doing the rows though not the pull ups. So how many rows and pull ups do you do? This plan give you the whole routine? or just here is a bunch of exercises and now go do some? That is strange that your triceps are so sore but then again I am not sure what exercises you've been doing. No worries on the updates.
  16. I did 5 Clap push ups in a row today. First time I've ever done them. I have been able to push up into the air for a little while but I hadn't tried them in a bit. They weren't pretty but I did them,
  17. Awesome workout. The video wouldn't work for me though. Boo!
  18. Nice workout wolverine. Very impressive.
  19. Thanks Wolverine. I will give that a shot and see how it goes.
  20. I have. I am still having trouble with my balance and the very bottom. My long ass legs seem to be my limiter that and holding my no working leg way out there. I am working on it. Regular body weight squats have ceased to be a challenge so I started doing these. I am finding it difficult to bridge the gap between full pistol and assisted.
  21. Just read through your thread! Good luck on the six pack. I am still trying. I would love to think I am close but I know that at 6'1" and 192 I am a long way off.I still have a lot of old 270lb fat me hanging off.
  22. Great! I think I will get it for the next challenge. Up at 5:15 today. I wanted to get it out of the way and have time to really put in some awesome effort. Todays workout: Jump rope for a couple minutes warm up Ring Straight Arm Hold 3X3 seconds Ring Horizontal Pullup 1X10, 1X10, 1X8 Ring Dips 1X7, 1X4, 1X4 Ring Leg Raises 3X10 Ring Pushups 3X12 Assisted Piston Squat 3X15 Those squats were a killer. I do the first 4 items as a circuit then the push ups and squats as a circuit. By the time I am done with three sets of that I am beat.
