  1. Wednesday workout 100 Push Up Challenge workout. 18, 18 , 20, 20, 17, 17, 15, 14 with only 45 seconds rest between sets. I did 139 total. Three more than last time, a slight improvement. Push up total for this challenge:2277! Three sets of assisted pistol squats. 3X15 each leg. Leg Lifts 3X25
  2. Tuesday workout: 20 Pull up challenge workout 3, 2, 2, 2, 2. 180 seconds rest between sets. The meager pull up grand total is... 215! I am not sure what's going on with my pull up. I don't know if I am not eating enough. If I am over doing it because I have upped my push ups so much. My downward spiral on pulls does seem to coincide with my increase in push up reps. Crow stand - I ranged in time hold of 30 seconds to a minute. I am not sure how many I did but it was a lot yesterday. Bridge work 3X15 I know some people say I can just do this as a hold but I also enjoy doing them for reps. I also went for a walk in the evening.
  3. I know how that is. Mrs Empeg and I have been running together lately and it seems just like that. Of course I have only one set of running gear so I have to constantly wash it.
  4. Monday's workout. I almost didn't workout today. I slept in this morning. Then when I got out of work I didn't want to workout. I had a rough work day. These are the reasons I normally try to workout in the am. Then around 8pm as we were watching TV I decided I had no excuse NOT to workout. 100 Push Up Challenge workout. 18, 18 , 20, 20, 17, 17, 13, 13 with only 45 seconds rest between sets. I did 136 total. Six more than last time. A little improvement but I am on 3 days rest. Push up total for this challenge:2138! Three sets of close squats with ass to the grass. 3X30 Close squats. Leg Lifts 2X20, 1X25.

  6. Friday's workout 100 Push Up Challenge workout. I had a big bump up in sets today. 18, 18 , 20, 20, 17, 14, 10, 13 with only 45 seconds rest between sets. I did 130 total. One less than last time. Grrrrr!!! Push up total for this challenge:2002! Sweet! I've passed 2000 since I started this challenge on October 9th. Three sets of close squats with ass to the grass. 3X30 Close squats. Leg Lifts 3X20.
  7. Thanksgiving Day Workout! (I drank two glasses of eggnog with bourbon last night AND ate a cinnamon bun last night! Need the workout!) The wife and I went for a two mile run this morning around the lake near our house. 20 Pull up challenge workout 4, 4, 4, 4, 4. 120 seconds rest between sets. The meager pull up grand total is... 184! Crow stand - 3 sets of practice. I ranged in time hold of 30 seconds to a minute. Bridge work Time to eat up.

Push up total for this challenge:1872. I should be close to passing 2000 since I started this challenge on October 9th. Three sets of close squats with ass to the grass. 3X30 Close squats. Leg Lifts 3X20. I haven't done that many of these in a while. I'm feeling pretty good lately. My weight is where I want to be, holding steady at 189. I feel like I am slowly but surely getting stronger. I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving. Lots to be thankful for.
  9. Tuesdays workout. It was a quick one, just pull ups. 20 Pull up challenge workout 5,4, 4, 3, 4. 120 seconds rest between sets. 20 is the most I have down in the 5 sets. So that's a slight improvement. The meager pull up grand total is... 164!
  10. 100 push up challenge workout. I am not going to enter what day or week it is anymore. It doesn't real jive with the plan because i've jumped around here and there and I started at week 3. When I finish, I finish. Just trying to get to 100. 28,22,20,22,20, 60 seconds rest between sets. I did 112 total. That is five less than last time but with half the rest. Push up total for this challenge:1741. There will be a big ramp up in sets the next time out. Almost twice as many sets and the rest time will go down to 45 seconds. This is going to be tough. I started out doing pistol squats but my legs were still pretty tired. So I did one set pistol, then two sets of close squats with ass to the grass. 1X15 each leg. 2X20 Close squats. Leg Lifts 3X15 *** Supplemental work a little while later*** Ring Dips - 3X10! Hell yeah! that's the most I've done. The dip part isn't hard, it's the stabilizing myself that's hard.

  12. Awesome! I am still trying to work towards even being able to do one. I get frustrated and stop working on it. I should really start putting in the time.
  13. Good luck. It will feel really slow in the beginning but you will pick up speed quickly if you stay dedicated. I lost 80lbs this year. If I can do it, so can you!
  14. Thursday 20 Pull up challenge workout Week 3, Day 3 - This was a redo Today was supposed to be: 6,5,4,3,Max. I had a terrible workout. I was feeling really sore and my back was killing me. 4, 3, 3, 3, 2. 120 seconds rest between sets. I was disappointed to not be able to bang out 6 again. Next up is my 3 week test. I will do that on Sunday. The meager grand total is... 144! 1 mile walk. Friday I took a day off to rest since I have to take a mid-point test on my 100 push up challenge. I did however get a walk in again for the NF Morning Walk Challenge. Saturday: Mid Point Test on the 100 Push Up Challenge: I did 40. That is a far cry from 100 but it's the most I've ever done. My previous best was 35. I also did single leg pistol squats. (Assisted, I need to keep my hand on a desk for balance. I try to touch it as little as possible.) 3X15 each leg. Leg Lifts 3X12.
  15. Got up at 5:15 this am to go out for the NF Morning Walk Challenge. It felt great to get up and moving. I was already going when we got back so I decided to go ahead and get the workout out of the way. 00 push up challenge workout. Week 6, day 3, level 2 (I must have missed entering a day or I put the wrong day down last time) 23,28,23,20,23, 120 seconds rest between sets. I did 117 total. Push up total for this challenge:1589 My knees are feeling better so I decided to go back to pistol squats. (Assisted, I need to keep my hand on a desk for balance. I try to touch it as little as possible.) 3X15 each leg. I could really feel that today. That is the most I have done. I was doing 3X10 each leg so that's a PR. My arse is sore! Leg Lifts 3X12. I am hoping to do some ring dips tonight when I get home.
  16. Thanks guys! I don't love the ring dips either but I do like that I can do them now! I will keep at it. I had not awesome workout today. All I got done was pull ups which is my main focus for the day. I also got a walk in tonight with Mrs Empeg. 20 Pull up challenge workout Week 3, Day 3 Today was supposed to be: 6,5,4,3,Max. However after shoveling mulch I didn't have the strength. What I actually did was: 5, 5, 4, 3, 2. 120 seconds rest between sets. I was disappointed to not be able to bang out 6. Oh well I will get it next time. The meager grand total is... 129!
  17. 100 push up challenge workout. Week 6, day 1, level 2 20,25,20,20,25, 90 seconds rest between sets. Push up total for this challenge:1472 Close feet body weight squats. 3X20 for a total of 60. Leg Lifts 3X12. Ring Dips 1x5,1X10,1X5. I finally just started banging these out. Boy are they hard!!

Saturday's workout: 20 Pull up challenge workout Week 3, Day 2 5, 3, 4, 3, 5. 120 seconds rest between sets. 5 pull ups is a new PR and the 18 is the most I've done in one workout without coming back later in the day. Definite progress. The meager grand total is... 110! Crow stand practice. I did not get any walking in this weekend. I missed Friday because I didn't want to get out of bed and just like the article says things came up later that night and I didn't have time to work it in. Saturday we had some family issues and we had to visit a sick Aunt in the hospital and then were out of the house until late. Yesterday I just didn't make it a priority. I wanted to do yard work, I hung Christmas lights, too my motorcycle out for what may be the last ride of the year, and then I did some insulating in my basement. The wife and I indulged a little bit this weekend on some non-paleo foods but I am back at it today. I hope everyone had a good weekend.
  19. It was not your best week. That's how it goes. This is now your most important day and week. Get back at it, hit is hard and you will back in the swing of it. If walking isn't your thing, then bag it. I missed the last 3 days of walking myself. We had some family issues. I could have done it yesterday but yard work and a motorcycle ride won out on the priority list. I will be back on the walking tonight.

Leg Lifts 3X12. Dips 3X10 Side note: I hit 189 today!!! Woot! That was my final goal. I am not sure what's up next. I will just keep rocking paleo and working out trying to get stronger and see where it goes. I still have lots of loose skin on my stomach that I am trying to lose so I guess that is my focus now. ** Supplemental work*** I had been trying to do ring dips for a while but having a hard time. I have been doing 3X10 regular dips for a bit so I decided to give it a go again. I watched some videos on BeastSkills.com. So tonight I got home, just jumped up on the rings and started lowering. I managed to bang out 5 of them. Woot!!!
