  1. Not a terrible week for your goals all things considered. Just concentrate on getting better. One week break then onto the next challenge.
  2. We are doing very well thanks! Mrs Empeg is working on Epic Garden 2013. 4 raised beds this year plus some squash and such along the fence. Next challenge I will start doing some parallette training. I am looking forward to that. That sounds pretty awesome! Target shooting is always fun.
  3. Monday morning 5am workout: Ring Dips 1X10, 1X7, 1X6, 1X4 Ring Horizontal Pullup 1X10, 1X8, 1X6, 1X4 Ring Knee Tuck 3X30s, 1X20s Ring Pushups 3X12 Piston Squat 3X3 - each leg. I was feeling a little off on these today.
  4. Forgot to put in yesterday's workout: I was pressed for time. I had to get to work early so I did my workout in my office so no rings. Push Ups - 4X30 Pistol Squats 3X3 Bulgarian Split Squats - 3X30 Today was general chores around the house, some work in my woodshop, and cleaning up the yard from winter.
  5. KENOBI!! WHat's up Bro! I see you are still rockin the pulls! Nice work! Hope all is well with you.
  6. ETF Dog!!! Sup Bro! How you doin?!!! Still running hard I see. Hope you doing well bro. Sorry you are not feeling well.
  7. Thanks Wolverine. Today I went for a walk. I also did shoulder ROM and mobility work.
  8. Sorry to hear you are sick dude! Make sure you get your rest. You are killing your challenge though overall I have to say. You and Waldo have inspired me to track some things a bit more next challenge and see how it goes.
  9. That's what worries me. As someone who used to be fat, I am scared to death of slipping off the bandwagon. I think if I were going to try it, it would have to be with cottage cheese and whole milk to start and see how I do with that.
  10. I will have to consider this at some point. I made good strides this challenge but making sure I go good amounts of protein and eating pretty clean. I've kept my weight about the same but lost around my waist. I know I got stronger even though the tape measure doesn't show it. Do you think it works for every body type? I would certainly give it a shot with full fat cottage cheese. Even though I have been pretty strict paleo this challenge I generally fall into the primal category because I like dairy, have not problem with it, and you can't beat the protein and good fats you get as you said. I am not sure if I have found my sweet spot yet. This is the first challenge where I really focuses on making sure I got a good amount of protein and calories pretty much every day. I have liked the results so far. Bruce was amazing! I agree with you about the boxers too.
  11. I am not even sure I could eat that much or find that much to eat. I can barely get in 2000 calories. I would feel sick for sure. When I went to Niagara and did a few big meals in a row at restaurants, paleo or not, I was feeling pretty full and gross. Same here. I've not tried a bulk yet and frankly I am kind of scared to try. I put the bad kind of weight of ridiculously fast.
  12. Thanks man! When I first started the ring dips I did 1X5, 2X2 so only a total of 9. I am pretty geeked up this morning.
  13. Thanks Wolverine! I am feeling better about it. I got right back on it yesterday with healthy eating and a good workout this morning. Todays workout: Jump rope a few minutes for warm up. Ring Dips 1X10, 1X7, 2X6 - WOOT!!! The first time I have been able to bang out 10 ring dips. That was also the most total dips I've ever done. Ring Horizontal Pullup (I think these might be called sit backs also) 1X10, 1X8, 1X7, 1X6 Ring Knee Tuck 4X30s - I felt a little better still today at these. I didn't really struggle until the last set. Ring Pushups 2X12, 2X14 - Piston Squat 3X3, 1X4 - each leg. I actually did slightly more but my form was terrible and I fell back on a couple so I didn't count those. I did reduce the counter weight I am using from a 12 to an 8lb weight. I felt really good today. I did rest 2 minutes between sets instead of my usual 1:30. My weight is still holding steady at 191. This pleases me especially since I am not really trying to lose weight. A number of people commented on Friday that I look very slim and fit. That's always nice to hear. Measurement Stats Update: Neck 14.75" +.25 I find this doubtful.. Bicep 14" +0 Forearm 11.25" -.25 Chest 38.25" +.25 Waist 37" -2 -This I believe. It's pretty noticeable. Hips 40.5" -.5 Thigh 24" +0 Calf 15.75 +0 ***EDIT*** Met Mrs Empeg near her job at lunch time and we went on a nice 3 mile walk. It was a beautiful day for it.
  14. I had a really bad day yesterday at work. Worked very long. I unfortunately fell back to a habit of comfort eating even though I had eaten very well all day. I went to the ice cream shop and got a twist. I wake up this am and I weigh 191 which I haven't weighed that low in a while go figure. Today is did Ido Portal ROM shoulder mobility work. Its a nice routine that doesn't take long. I went for a nice 45 minute walk.
  15. Wow nice workout Waldo. Awesome v-sit photo.
  16. This is true and I have been seeing some pretty good results so fat this challenge. This mornings workout: Jump rope a few minutes for warm up. Ring Dips 1X8, 1X7, 2X4 Ring Horizontal Pullup 1X10, 2X8, 1X7 Ring Knee Tuck 4X30s getting a little better at these. Sometimes by the time I get to them it's my arm strength that gives out. Ring Pushups 3X12 - I could have pushed a few more reps out here but I didn't want too. Piston Squat 3X4 - each leg. I tried to do one on each leg without holding the weight for a counter balance. I am not there yet. Just not quite enough core strength and my left ankle is not quite flexible enough. I was able to do one with the right let however. Barely!
  17. Good job on the workouts and just general life stuff Vector. Balance is always good.
  18. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling 100%. I think we all get that way at times. I know I do. I'm glad to hear that GMB is working out for you. I think I decided I am going to get the Level 1 pack and do P1 next challenge. I've still be doing the free version of the rings workout but i've been enjoying it. I also struggle with balance in life. If I concentrate on my landscaping in my yard, or woodworking then something else like working out or diet seems to suffer. I've i really workout and eat well other phases of my life suffer. I guess it's true you only have a finite about of will power in any given day. Keep plugging BigM.
  19. Oh yeah I meant to ask you about them. How high and how long are they? I want to make a pair but I am going to make them out of wood.
  20. Huh. That's interesting. As usual a wealth of information. I have been enjoying my rings workout overall and I am enjoying the new challenges. I am surprised at how much I have improved already during the challenge.
  21. Way to go!!! I lost a similar about of weight over the last 15 months although I was never up in the 290s. Low 280 is the highest I ever was. Congrats on getting healthier over all and getting a new lease on life! Now go out and live it!!
