  1. Day 2: Weight: 163.8 Logged all my food, and finished at 1450 calories! Success! I do need to up my protein, though, as I fell victim to Girl Scout cookies this afternoon and cut my dinner down a little to make up for it. Did 45 minutes on the treadmill (walking 15 min/mile), and did most of my PT core/hip strengthening exercises while watching TV. And wow, can I feel the difference those exercises have made - two months ago, a stint on the treadmill would have left my hip and ankle aching like no tomorrow, but now I don't feel any pain at all. One of my tasks for this week - browse online for some more good exercises that are easily done while watching TV and/or talking to someone. Specifically, I need to find some more intense core strengthening exercises, and some upper body exercises. I know we have some dumbbells tucked away in a closet somewhere, I just have to figure out where! I'd like to add a few new exercises at a time in with my PT exercises, so I can start attacking more areas than just my hips and glutes.
  2. Day 1: I did well on food - staying under 1550 calories - until I got to the coffee shop to meet with my writing group, when a small hot chocolate called my name. Oh, well. Tomorrow is another day! Writing group took up the whole evening, so no working out. I did get out and walk around the campus buildings for 20 minutes at lunch time, though!

I'm just getting back on the weight loss/fitness train after the holiday/TRB merry-go-round, followed by fun times with my right hip, hamstring and ankle that had me going to PT for the last month or so. My ultimate goal is to be at my goal weight (approximately 135 lbs) by July 1st - which is the start date of the local sci-fi convention. (I have costumes to look good in, dammit! ) For this challenge, however, my goals are: - lose 7-8 pounds - log my food on Sparkpeople every day - work out at least 3x a week I need to locate my camera's USB cord before I can post photos, but my weight and measurements as of today: Weight: 163.8 lbs. Waist: 38 inches Hips: 43 inches Thigh: 24 inches Upper arm: 13 inches
