Nice! Do you know what weekend the Chicago Challenge is in September?
-
Hey cline, you talking the Beached Expedition event or a GRC that was mostly on the beach?
-
Hey all you nerds! I haven't been on here in a while (RL work and personal stuff getting in the way), but I just finished a Light this past weekend and wondering if GORUCK is still a thing here hahaha. (https://www.facebook.com/events/1454056731497370/).

An Open Apology to All of My Weight Loss Clients (Huffpost)
Burizado replied to Anivair's topic in Rebel Army Base Camp
"Just eat food. Eat real food, be active, and live your life. Forget all the diet and weight loss nonsense. It's really just that. Nonsense." The second to last line is what I really liked. I think it really is that simple. -
Actually we only did 450 MMs throughout the night, but our Cadre said he is going to find out if a class can do them.
-
Yup, still alive, and made it through the "Suck". WOW, what an experience. There were some "veterans" to GRCs, and they said this was one of the toughest they had done. We started off the night with the Cadre announcing that we were going to be doing 1000 man makers tonight. Then it involved items that every GRC is made of, logs, sand bags, water, LOTS of miles, PT, etc. I will post some photos, but I need to figure out how to upload them on the NF site.

Well to be honest I used it in HS for sports. Then it didn't get much use until about 2 years ago, when I got my fitness/healthy life back on track. I'm not sure what brand of bag it is. Just a basic duffle bag with shoulder strap and handles.

I LOL'ed picturing literally 10,000 food containers

Thanks for the info Bigm. Yes, I agree on the gym bag. Very sleek and sexy. It might just replace my high school gym bag that has lasted me 18+ years.

I am in GR as well. Never been to a meet-up, but willing to anytime I am not busy. I go to Lansing area about every other month for family functions as well, so anywhere works for me too.
-
Thanks for the info Cline. I think I will add some potatoes, rice, or pasta to my dinner on Friday.
-
OK, my first GRC is this week Friday night at 9pm, and I am VERY excited! I just had a last minute question on nutrition that I did not see a discussion on in this forum yet. What do people eat the day of the Challenge? I was thinking a normal breakfast (omelette with veggies and meat), possibly a normal lunch (grilled chicken and veggies), but I was not sure on dinner if I should even eat at all. I did not want to eat too much and make myself sick, but I didn't want to not eat and feel hungry during the whole GRC, making myself more uncomfortable than I am already going to be. So, what do you eat the day of a GRC, and more importantly right before for "dinner"?

I thought I remember Steve writing a blog about this topic last October. http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/10/15/unhealthy-spouse/ and Thrillho, you are the king of animated gifs, I think that is about the 10th I've seen from you today. HAHAHAHA

Found this song and video today. Goes well to get me motivated to go that extra mile. Plus it is a cool video too. "GET UP AND MOVE!"
