    Snacking

I do Jerky and Trail mix at my desk instead of Potato Chips now. We have a store called "Bulk Nation" and I get to basically build my own trail mix with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, craisins, walnuts , pecans and almonds.
  2. Ran this morning, barely, have recently re-hooked myself on Skyrim, so was a bit distracted by that to say the least. But I made it out despite the nast muggy 80 some degree weather. 6 min run 1 min walk 4 times 28 minutes, 2.27 miles
  3. So we have 2 dogs, a 8 year old Great Dane(Delia) and a 2 year old bulldog mix(Morgan). Before we got the mix the Great Dane had full rein of the house while we were gone. When we got the new dog, she went into the crate and Delia went into what we call the dog room, because Morgan freaked out when she couldn't see Delia, and Delia likes to hang out on the couch, which is out of the site line of the crate. Once she had been 100% accident free for about 3 months Morgan got short test runs of being loose in the house. Like super short, like we're just out in the yard mowing, or in the garage working out. We're at home but not in the house giving constant super vision, that built into staying out when running to the grocery. Then when going out to dinner, going to visit the inlaws. We just slowly kept building more and more unsupervised time. There were of course lapses, not with accidents in the house but with destroying things, loofahs are a favorite for sure, hair brushes, pens, sunglasses. Never shoes fortunately. After we had a mishap, they both would lose privileges and it was back to the crate/dog room respectively. They still don't have full rein while we're at work. I'll sometimes leave Delia loose, because all she does is sleeps on the couch. But Morgan gets board and causes chaos still. we try giving her toys but they all end up under the couch, and then she has to find other things to occupy her which is when things go bad. Sorry that was so long, but basically, you have to decide how much you trust them and make a judgment call, come home and find out if you trusted them too much or not and adjust accordingly.
  4. Got it. I always wanted to do the BARF diet, just not feasible for us financially. I highly recommend crate training. We had two crates one in the bedroom and another in the "dog room" since we've always overlapped dogs, older dog gets full run of the room, younger dog gets the crate. We just took the second crate out of the bedroom since the younger dog is now 2 and has graduated during the night to not wander about an cause chaos.
  5. I'm not a nutritionist, so I'll skip to what I do have experience with, and that's the caffeine addiction. Quitting caffeine cold turkey, especially when you have to go to work is insane. You have to ween yourself off it, at least that is what worked for me. From Espresso, the dark roast coffee, to light roast, to black tea, to green tea, to nada. You body becomes so dependent on the stuff it's crazy. Find something to replace the enrgy drinks that have less caffeine and keep going down until you don't need it.
  6. Thanks, has been a real challenge getting back into things. Today was my day off and my only plans were to work out & cook dinner. I was in work out clothes by 8:30 but couldn't convince myself to actually start my workout until 2. I didn't even find good reasons to put it off. But I made it out to the garagym, so i guess it stil counts as a win. Going to try a starting strength variation this time around, so today involved finding my starting weights. Warm-Up ----------- 10 min walk w/ Dogs Workout ---------- Squats 5x45lbs 5x55lbs 5x65lbs 5x75lbs 5x75lbs 5x75lbs Was expecting this to be where I landed after a month of pretty much no exercise what so ever. Bench Press 5x45lbs 5x55lbs 5x65lbs 5x65lbs 5x65lbs This I was not expecting, I'm not sure if I should be impressed with my bench or disappointed with my squat with only a 10lb difference. Chin Ups 6 w/ medium resistance band on my foot 5 w/ medium resistance band on my foot 5 w/ medium resistance band on my foot So chin ups are 3 set until failure, once I can get 15 on all 3 sets I'm either going to get a light resistance band or just put my knee in the band instead, same will go for pull ups. Stretching -------------- Yes I actually stretched after my workout today!!! I downloaded what I think is an awesome app, that takes you through 9 stretches. Was quick and easy to follow so Hoping it's something I can continue to incorporate at least 2-3x a week.

  9. I'd probably have a hard time wearing it to sleep too. I know my Garmin apparently has a sleep mode.... no clue how they expect you to wear a big bulky watch to sleep in. Or all day to work to count steps... :-/ Fit bit seems like a much sleeker design for every day wear....

  15. I think there is an assumption that blood pressure issues are typically high blood pressure issues. I have low blood pressure, typically when I go from sitting to standing too quickly, or am dehydrated, or you just whenever is decides to randomnly drop, i get dizzy vision gets fuzzy and have been known on occasion to pass out. Have never had an issue when I'm running though so who knows, Anything else ever trigger it before?
  16. Goal 1 -Continue Stronglifts 3x a week 3/3 Goal 2 - Continue running 2x a week 2/2 Goal 3 -Keep Carbs below 30% of calories on workdays & below 50% on days off 0/7 days Life Goal: -Organise ALL the things, take care of 1 Project/task per week My house got cleaned, then my parents showed up with a literal truck load of stuff that they cleaned out of their attic for me, it has already been sorted into throw away, keep, keep until a garage sale. THe two keeps are back in bines ready to head into my attic, and i need some garbage backs for a bunch of the old toys I plan to try and donate. 1/1 ---------------------- I think it's pretty safe to say I have a food issue. I love food, and like to eat it, I'm not good at saying "NO you probably shouldn't eat that" I think my food goal for this challenge was a bit too ambitious. I'm thinking of revising it, not sure how yet
  17. Day 5-did nothing, honestly have no clue what i ate Day 6-Stronglifts, ate stuff....???? Day 7-Ran ate like crap
  18. Week 2 ---- Day 1-Stronglifts ate like crap Day 2-Ran Ate like crap Day 3- did nothing Ate like crap Day 4- Stronglifts Have all my meals planned today so shouldn't eat like crap I clearly have a problem with food, I love all the food and believe it belongs in my belly. I had pizza for lunch and dinner yesterday, and 3 blueberry muffins for breakfast, it was bad. Today I had my standard breakfast burrito, I have a Caprese salad Grilled Chicken and Asparagus packed for lunch, and some left over pot roast for dinner. I think the key is planning all my meals, I'm terrible at self control when easy options are presented
  19. I see what your saying, honestly until you pointed it out didn't realize i had a tendency to pop my but out like that. Actively tried to keep it under me this morning, and definitely felt a difference
  20. If your a regular coffee drinker the diuretic affect is minimal if any at all. I wouldn't be worried about it.
