  1. Well I, frankly, would cave for any sort of pie with whipped cream. Thankfully I work at home. haha! The only saboteur here is MOI! Have a great night!
  2. Day 10 update: activity ring complete all the veggies eaten yesterday (and already eaten for today as well) BBWW complete. One full set and second set of everything but lunges. The ole legs were having none of those lunges today. Second set went relatively well otherwise. Now to get all the other things done. Still pondering about a reward for my completion of the 6wc. If I can get the workout done with my poor night of sleep and my general Oscar-the-Grouch impression today, I should be able to knock it out any day. Off to slay the laundry beast. PS. Enjoying Habitica quite a lot as well.
  3. Eureka, this sounds so cool! I'm going to spend some time checking it out tonight!
  4. Yay on the pushup. I'm hoping to do a "real" pushup by the end of my challenge. 45 degree ones for now.
  5. I'm definitely going to need to check it out. Any resources you recommend for learning about how? where? Yesterday went well. An emotionally exhausting night with teen daughter drama last night and consequently not a good nights sleep. Today is going to be a challenge because of that and it's already a full calendar of appointments/errands. I will probably not post progress until this afternoon as my walk and workout is going to get pushed to the afternoon. I do much better with getting it all done in the mornings, but I've got to roll with the punches.
  6. Awesome about the FitBit. I really loved mine. I have an AppleWatch now and while it's good, I sort of miss the ease of counting steps. Glad the new job is going well!
  7. I managed to score quite a few samples at Whole Foods over the weekend. So far I've tried the Jay Robb vanilla and it was actually surprisingly good. I've got about 5 more here to try too. Thanks everyone!
  8. I live in a VERY walkable city. I have all sorts of options on that front, thank heavens. Usually a chance to listen to my podcasts is enough to get the walk in... cleaning is a whole other story though. I've never done geocaching. Maybe I should check it out!
  9. Day 9 update: activity ring, check veggies... did well yesterday. My husband cooks dinner and I'm averse to veggies for breakfast, so Im planning on getting these in at lunch and snacks. So far so good. Planning is key. BBWW... rest day today and I can even do stairs without a rail! Tomorrow I try to conquer set 2 and will probably be back to using the rail. haha. Feeling very tired this week and hoping my energy level picks up. Right now the walks and household chores are feeling like, well... chores. Not my usual attitude. Must conquer.
  10. Vacuumadancing sounds much nicer than what I've been doing... makes mental note... Way to knock out Monday. I got everything done yesterday, but definitely struggled with my attitude. It was a busy day and I prefer pajama pants by 5:30.
  11. I so agree Eureka about the consistency part. I, too, will be thrilled to just complete this 6wc. It will be a huge step up for me in the long-term battle. Last night I found myself talking to my husband about possible goals for the next 6wc! Wow! Who am I? haha. Usually by now I'd be desperately searching for a way to drop out and save face. I'm a new woman! Hear me roar! haha. I also completely agree about Jen's writing... I have no talent in that area so I'm awed!
  12. Im relieved to hear you've really thought it out and feel like it's do-able. Maybe I should move to an old farmhouse. Haha! Keep up the good work Dandelion!
  13. Glad you were able to jump in on this challenge Dandelion. 28 pounds seems pretty aggressive for 6 weeks so please be careful. Good luck with the BBWW, it's kicking my butt right now (in a good way though). Can't wait to hear how you're doing next time you make it to the library!
  14. Glad your first day went well! Enjoy your walk!
  15. Protein can be so hard. I've been trying some protein powders and I'm just meh about them. Cottage cheese will do, but holy cow will I be sick of that quick. Good job on week 1! Onward!!!

Week 2 mini challenge is conquered... 1. Signature done. 2. I've joined the Future Rangers R Us in Accountabilibuddies. Done and posted in my challenge thread. Thanks Blaidd!
  17. Week 2 mini challenge (recruits) 1. Signature done. 2. I've joined the Future Rangers R Us in Accountabilibuddies. *If you complete both parts of this challenge (either 1+2 or 1+3) then you will get an additional +1 CHA to allocate at the end of the 6 week challenge.
  18. I completely agree ellis_e. I've been doing the same thing, although I will say I'm much less likely to partake of the after-dinner ice cream sandwiches when I know it will undo my workout. haha! That workout is hard and better count for something!!
  19. Day 8 update: filled the ring with my 30min walk this morning ate my veggies yesterday did my workout this morning, a complete set of BBWW, next objective, 2nd set.
  20. Nice work last week. The preplanning food is key for me. Maybe meditation should be in my next challenge. I'm feeling Monday frazzled...
  21. Week 1 Recap: so far so good. The baby steps method is SO much more manageable for me. Definitely beats my previous overachiever fly, crash, burn loop.filling the activity ring is relatively easy for now. I really enjoy the walk. This is going to be harder once the weather gets bad (probably not for this challenge though)eating the veggies is totally do-able, but the key is preparation. Pre-cooking and having lunches ready to grab and go is the way to succeed for me.1.7 pounds lost is good. I was hoping for the newbie bonus pound or two, but if this is sustainable, I'm just fine with it. already noticing more energyhave decided to join the Rangers after this challengeenjoying using Habitica to track my progress with this and the rest of life. Who knew leveling up was so motivating?mostly just really hoping this all sticks...still haven't decided on a reward for my completion of the 6wc... hmmm...
  22. Recruit Mini Challenge response: 1. Is your overall quest achievable (over a short or long period of time)? Is it reasonable? Aggressive for me, but achievable 2. Do your 3 quests all build towards your main quest in little ways, or are you taking on too much? Do your quests have sub-quests or is it just one thing to focus on? No subquests, and my quests build toward my main quest. Definitely not taking on too much. 3. Are your main goals realistic? Can you scale them to smaller steps to fit your life better, even if it will make it take a little longer to achieve them? Yes, they are realistic. 4. Are your goals able to be measured and tracked? What will you use to track them? Goals are easily measured. Apple watch tracks activity rings, I count servings of veggies, and I either do or do not do my workout. 5. How are you grading your goals? Are they pass/fail (“every dayâ€, “not even once over the six weeksâ€)? Is there a reward for the effort, or are you only grading yourself on whether or not you “lose the weight†or “run the distanceâ€? Grading is included above and is based on days of success. Rewards are attribute points. 6. What is your plan for continuing/altering/grading those goals if you become ill or injured? I don't think injury or illness will be a factor for walking or vegetables, but I will like just count those as missed days if it happens. Workout injuries would require modification of the workout. 7. Did you take into consideration any special occasions (Labour Day, Independence Day, birthdays, anniversaries, etc) that may occur during the challenge? What modifications do you need to build into your goals for those? I have not special occasions pending. They would count as missed days. 8. Do any of your main goals conflict with each other? Will one goal make it hard to do another? Nope. 9. Do you already have the time in your schedule to actually complete the goals you’ve set? If not, what are you planning to do to make time for them? Yes! 10. Are you trying to build multiple habits, or is all your energy focused on your main quest? I am building a vegetable and workout habit. Walking is already a fairly consistent habit. These all work towards my main quest. For completing this mini quest you will receive an additional +1WIS at the end of the 6 weeks.
