  1. Well I'm not studying for my masters yet, but I'd certainly love to! I don't have the means at the moment to go back to school and the school I wanted to go to (and the one that's closest to me) doesn't have a masters in archaeology. If I had an abundance of money I'd study at the University of Chester, in the Uk where they have a degree in the Archaeology of Death and Memory. Otherwise I'm interested in Experimental Archaeology, Domestic Archaeology, and Folklore. Besides not have the money for it right now, I also didn't study archaeology for my first degree and I'm not sure if I would be accepted into a graduate degree program. And wow that's what you're writing for! I didn't recognize the term "monachsim" but it came up as a time in Buddhist history? Or is it Catholic history (which is coming up as "Catholic Monasticism")? How long have you been studying this?
  2. I want to be able to do an unassisted pull up one day as well! But that's probably next challenge! For your soda goal, what part of soda is "addictive" or what part of soda don't you want? If it's the sugar, maybe you could combine something like crystal light and club soda? Also, I know you want to go cold turkey, but maybe put it in your head, that if you do drink some soda it's not the end of the world. You just need to look at why you had to drink some soda and figure out how to avoid that reason in the future. Good luck!
  3. Feelin' tired, but motivated!

  4. This sounds like a great plan. Very realistic. I'm confident you'll be able to meet your goals!
  5. Congrats on already losing 13 kg! It sounds like you have good motivation and a good plan. Keep up the good work!
  6. Wow! Good luck with your challenge! You already sound like a determined individual so I'm sure you'll be able to accomplish your goals!
  7. Good luck on your quest! Make sure to eat some sugars though! Just not added sugars or sweets. I hope you finish your recording studio in time!
  8. Good luck on your challenge! I like the grading system you applied to your goals! Also if you have the chance to be Batman, always be Batman!
  9. Good luck on your challenge! What kind of workouts are you going to do? For your first goal, have you found what keeps you from eating out less?
  10. Hello! I've been with nerd fitness awhile and although it's helped me in certain ways up until now, my own issues have been getting in the way. I started reading a book about eating disorders and it's helped me calm down a bit and get re-motivated, so here I am starting my first challenge! This challenge fits perfectly time wise because on October 25th, I'll be going to Disneyland! I don't want to put it in my head that I'll lose any weight by then, but feeling better inside will make me look better outside! So, my main goal is to feel stronger physically and mentally! To do this I will: 1) Follow my workout plan. I made up a simple workout plan to get started. 15 minute walks 6 days a week and three Lvl 2 Dumbbell Division workouts from the academy for the first three weeks with a Star Wars Workout Challenge to round it out. The next three weeks I'll be starting lvl 3 of the Dumbbell Division as well as start slowly jogging again. I'm going to be using the Couch Potato to 5k app. In addition, I signed up for the Moon Joggers "October 5k Halloween Bootcamp" that starts on Oct 1. Not sure exactly what this will entail, but it sounds fun! And if it's too much altogether I will chose which one to follow so that I don't put too much on my plate. 2) Eat healthily. Now this might be a bit vague but I think it needs to be at this point. As I mentioned, I've been reading about eating disorders and I'm thinking I might have one. At least a little. If I think it's a serious problem I'll get professional help, but for the mean time, I'm going to try fixing things myself. My big problem comes from a cycle of dieting (usually restrictive diets) and then bingeing. So for this challenge I'm going to eat healthily, but more importantly eat mentally healthily (that doesn't sound silly at all). I don't want to hide what I'm eating or feel shame and guilt if I eat something unhealthy. I don't want to feel like I can't eat anything so now I must eat everything. I also need to remind myself that a relapse into bingeing/really unhealthy eating will probably occur. But if it does, I will work through it and reassess things. As the book says: "A relapse is simply a sign that you need to make adjustments in your recovery plan, not a signal that it (or you) isn't working." 3) Support myself and allow others to support me. I'm going to keep reading through the book and work on my mental health and stop beating myself up over everything. I will see professional help if I think it will help me more. I will let my loved ones in on my issue so they can support me and I will maintain updating this challenge so you lovely nerds can support me! I can't do it alone and I definitely need an awesome party to get me to journey's end! Side quest) I've almost completed my 30 day habit challenge by making my bed every day. I want to keep doing that, and then also keep my room clean for six weeks! Whenever it's messy, it certainly doesn't help my mental state so I need to keep it clean!! So for six weeks I want to maintain it being clean by: putting dirty laundry in the basket or clean laundry away; vacuuming the floor and dusting; and putting stuff away when I'm done with it and not letting things pile up. So that's it! Thank you for reading and for your support! I look forward to tackling the challenge and supporting others in theirs!
