  1. Thanks Ellis_e. The character in mind definitely helps. Challenge is coming along pretty well. I've been hitting above my goal so far, so I'm happy with that!
  2. Thanks Tina! he's pretty awesome. That pic is a couple of years old actually. He's a little man now with a beautiful little sister
  3. Haha. Thank you Melissa. I'm actually putting together a series of blog posts on time management at the moment. This is part 1 if you're interested. Meditation is definitely on my list of things to learn. And thanks again for the kind words!
  4. Thanks for the reply wanderingcavegirl. Is there a central or pinned place to find the mini quests for the Recruits? How do I know if I've missed them being posted somewhere?
  5. Hello everyone. This is my first challenge here. I'm still not quite sure what the actual challenge is. Is it the sub quests I've designed myself? Is that always the case? Or does your guild (once you choose one) provide future 6 week challenges? Here is my initial info, and the quests I've set myself, which I think is my 6 week challenge. Intro: My name is Adam. I’m a games and application programmer. I work full time for a serious games company that specialises in construction, mining and civil engineering simulation and interactive visualisation. I have a small indie games company called Sly Budgie that are working on a fitness application, all of us work outside of work hours. I’m the programmer for a bit pop band called 7Bit Hero that incorporate multiplayer gaming into their live music performances (worked on in spare spare time). I’m the programmer in a duo working on a coop competitive game based on an imagined game of “pirate ships in the back yard†that kids might play, where plays pilot pirate ships that sail across hills of grass and sand (spare spare spare time) and I am the father of two awesome kids aged 1 and 4 (Family time is priority above all those spare time ones). When I’m not doing that, I’m a co organiser for two monthly meet ups in Brisbane, Australia. Game Technology Brisbane and Game Development Brisbane, helping to encourage the growth of the Game Development community. I have a passion for fitness, health and understanding the capacity of the human body as much as I have a passion for knowledge. I’ve joined the rebellion to find ways to keep myself motivated towards building myself into the man I want to be (both physically and mentally) and to hopefully find a mentor to help me with all that. Main Quest Get BF% down to 14 by the end of the year. I’m currently at 18. Quest 1 Perform the 300 workout at least twice a week Quest 2 Abstain from processed sugar for the whole challenge Quest 3 Run 5km at least twice a week Side Quest 30 minutes learning Spanish at least 3 times a week.Learn and practice meditation Life Quest Learn multiple languages to a conversational level (Spanish first), learn about survival techniques (live of the land type stuff) and gaining the type of functional fitness needed for events like Tough Mudder. I guess in my head, I'm aiming at something like the William Wallace that was portrayed in Braveheart. The warrior that surprises the aristocracy with his knowledge and languages. Motivation: As a programmer (and generally pretty busy guy), I’m particularly interested in efficient ways of working the body towards a peak form. I want to do this both for myself and my family. I mean to be an inspiration to them. To show them that with hard work, you can be all you want to be. I want to show them that the stereotypes are rubbish. That you can be fit, healthy and athletic while still being a “nerdâ€.
