  1. So I suppose it begins again. My story is long and complicated. The short version being that I finally took it upon myself to get healthy a few years ago. I lost about twenty pounds in the span of a few months. Not sure how impressive that is. I went to the gym every morning after work with a friend for at least an hour a day. I stopped drinking soda almost completely. I worked third shift so I needed the caffeine. The end result being that I ended up pregnant and gained it all back. Go figure. So it's been two years almost since my son was born and I've decided to get healthy. I'm not here to just drop weight, I want to become healthier for my son. I don't want him to end up like me and I don't want to end up with a major health issue that might eventually kill me. I have almost no will power when it comes to soda. It is my biggest hurdle. One I plan to conquer slowly. I'm currently sitting at 182.4 lbs. I'm 5'2" tall. My main goal is to lose at least 45 lbs. by my birthday next year (09-23-2016). I also want to finally give up my addiction to caffeine and start drinking more water. I also would like to become a bit more flexible and agile instead of feeling like I'm 80 and falling apart. So far, I've started walking every night after work for at least ten minutes and for every soda I drink, I have to drink a full glass of water. I have yet to falter. I'm the type of person who needs someone (or many someones) to encourage me to keep going. That I can do this. That it's ok to mess up as long as I get back to it. I suppose that's why I'm here. I'm not one for doing things alone. 2. For anonymity sake, let's just call me Nyx. Until I'm more comfortable at least. I'm a single mother of an adorable and quite rambunctious 22 month old. I know, sounds odd but there's really no other way to say it lol. I have been overweight and unhappy for most of my life. I did actually start becoming healthier about two years ago. Even dropped around 20 pounds. Which apparently made me fertile. And we all know where that leads. Anyways, suffice to say I gained all the weight back. I am at 187.4 lbs now according to my lovely bathroom scale (which I spent a fortune on a few months back thinking it would help me. Instead, I avoided it like the plague.) and I'm around 5'2". I am in desperate need of an exercise plan as well as any pointers on eating healthier on a budget. A very tight budget. I also work in a deli 40+ hours a week so most of my spare time is either very early or very late in the day. Feel free to ask any questions. All opinions welcome.
