  1. RILEY I HELD MY PLANK FOR A MINUTE TODAY. It wasn't done as part of my work out, but just randomly to see if I could do it. So stoked!
  2. Yeah, I only got 450. Sorry guys.
  3. Woo! I'm still doing the planks as part of my work out, but I seem to have stalled out at 40 seconds.. it's been a week and a half since I last increased my time. I think I'll try to go for 45 tomorrow. I know, I've been trying to think of something. I keep thinking the winner should get a prize worth 20-ish dollars, but aside from a NF t-shirt, I don't know what I would want that falls into that price range. And I remember you saying you already have a million work out shirts, so that prize wouldn't really work for you.
  4. Ahh, I know, I get so annoyed when I have to miss my workout/push it back a day. Rmas, it seems we've evolved! =P I decided to go full paleo starting this past Monday. I have a month before I leave for camp, gotta look awesome! Also, jumping rope is hard, I'm so sorry I ever complained about planks...
  5. Go team! I agree that we shouldn't leave anyone's numbers out, this is all about us improving our lives and getting stronger so let's not worry if you think your times weren't that great. (Also, I think it would probably count as cheating...) My total time was 17 minutes (or 1020 seconds). I am so very tired of planks. =P
  6. No worries! Basically, everyone participating in the March 5th-April 16th challenge was put into a squad. Your squad members are here to support you and offer encouragement. There are also squad challenges that will be posted, where everyone in the squad works together to achieve a goal. The challenge we're doing right now (which is also the first one posted) is planks, and it runs from Tuesday March 20th-Monday March 26th. The goal is to plank every day, as much as you can, and at the end of the challenge we add up everyone's times and then divide it by the number of active people in our squad.
  7. Wait a minute... with the exception of Sven, who never showed up, is everyone on this squad a girl? Mind = blown.
  8. supercanuck - That's okay, you can look forward to doing it when you get back! It's kind of a grueling experience, I'm not really sure why I like it so much. I remember them having a shirt for sale up there that says "Wanna Grind?" on the front which I thought was so hilarious. Maybe I'll buy one this year. Also, FALAFELS. I want one now. They're so good. :< And yeah April, my elbows are starting to get really sore from all the planking too... Bleh.
  9. Oops, my bad, I totally forgot about this in all the excitement of squads and challenges and blah blah blah.. Kind of fell off the wagon with regards to my eating on Monday/last night. Pretty disappointed in myself. I'm going to make a point of going to the grocery store today though and making some extra meals that can be frozen. I don't want being too lazy/tired to cook to throw me off this badly again. My fitness stuff is going really well though! Still slowly improving, and for the first time I really feel like I have a good chance of meeting all three of my goals.
  10. I was just thinking, we should all friend each other. Then we can talk about our planking times and other challenge-related stuff we don't want 'overheard.' It's okay, I'm not super great at planks either. We can look forward to how much we improve by the end of the week. =)
  11. I like the idea of putting our planking times in our signatures, it would make it a lot easier for all of us to keep track of it. The only problem I can see with that is that it makes it easy for people from other squads to keep track of it too. I kind of like the idea of being sneaky like ninjas and then showing up out of nowhere and kicking everyone's butt. =P As for my summer plans? I'm taking my driving test in a month, so I'm really looking forward to doing a lot of stuff that is made easier with a car. My friend and I are planning on going through second-hand places and the like looking for beautiful antique bookshelves (we just starting planning this today so I'm crazy excited). I'm also really looking forward to doing the Grouse Grind a lot. For people who don't live in Vancouver, basically someone decided to build a staircase into a mountain and then you walk up. I also have made it a goal to wear a bikini to the beach this summer. I've avoided the beach for years, and only recently realized that I don't actually hate the beach, what I hated was not feeling comfortable wearing a bathing suit around other people. So I'm really looking forward to getting over that.
  12. Welcome! I wish I had an office to plank in, looks like I'll have to hide out in our stock room at work. =P By the way, I was just thinking, we've all been chatting and stuff but none of us have really introduced ourselves properly. So I figured I'd go ahead and do so, and invite y'all to do the same. My name's Brittany, I'm 21 and I live just outside Vancouver. I work at a retro one-screen movie theatre and love my job. I have two cats, a rabbit and a fish and hope one day to grow old and become a crazy cat lady. I love to read, play video games and cook. I am not currently attending school, but am planning on going in September. I hope to study language and learn either French or Spanish.
  13. Hey everyone! Just wanted to draw your attention to the fact that the first squad challenge has been posted and starts tomorrow! http://nerdfitness.com/community/showthread.php?9326-Squad-Challenge-Number-One
  14. supercanuck: Oh, that's so cool! Where in England do you live? I visited there a few years ago and thought it was fabulous. =) CalvinHobbes: Huh, that's so weird. Anyways, I'm glad that you had a safe flight and wish you the same coming back home! As for my work out, I'm doing the Beginner Body Weight work out. I'm completely new to fitness, I've never really spent any time exercising before this challenge. A couple of years ago I did yoga regularly, but other than that nothing. I'm finding I really enjoy this work out though, especially since it's so easy to track my progress. Also, I thought everyone should know I sent a message to Spezzy tonight officially submitting our name change request. Stoked! PS. Since so many of us are book nerds, do any of you use Goodreads?
  15. Okay, well, I haven't heard back from anyone else yet, so I'm thinking we can/should just go ahead and choose our name. CalvinHobbes, did you wanna go ahead and message Spezzy? (PS. It says you're online right now. Why are you up so early!? It's Saturday!)
