  1. It's already time for a new challenge....ack. I'm not sure I even finished the last one. I need a time machine.

  2. It's called Tent Rocks and it's just south of Santa Fe, New Mexico. It's super cool. So this last week I finished with 16.9 miles. Yay. I sucked at food tracking. I think I need to find another way to make it work better. I like to eat a lot of variety, and figuring out what all those things equal in MFP is a ton of work and makes me not do it. Hmmm. Maybe I'll just go to paper and try to make sure I don't eat ridiculous things. Dunno. I was terrible at water again. Sigh. Back to filling the water bottles and just making myself do it. I got awesome at being more regular at meditation, which is saving my sanity currently. I did manage to got to another new trail so I totally did 4 new trails this challenge, so yay for more adventure. This challenge was not too bad not too great....kind of in the middle. Almost ready for next round!
  3. Waaay better mileage this week, thanks to a couple really great hikes and one crazy adventure through an amazing art exhibition/time warp. https://meowwolf.com/ 21 miles this week. YAY. Food tracking. Um. I didn't. Bad. But I did eat better thanks to some food prep of some great salads. Pre made salads are one of my new favorite things. I did eat chicken flautas again. So yummy. 5 more days of this challenge and I think I'm getting my groove back. Better late than never.

  5. Harumph. So last week. Um. Started out good. Fell off fast in a whirlwind weekend of beer and pizza rolls (homemade and super delish) none of which I logged. Crap. I'm back on track so far this week. Pre made some salads on Sunday and ate one for lunch today....so yummy. Mileage last week 10 miles. Also crap. New adventures....nope. Ok time to dust myself off and get going again. Time to remind myself why I'm doing this. Ack.
  6. Big hugs from New Mexico! Best of luck to you all in finding a new, more amazing than ever home and a fresh new start. <abazillion
  7. I want to see you in the outfit for Joy. It would make me really happy, and maybe slightly disturbed.
  8. Deep fried chicken tubes of joy. (hmm wonder if that will summon Buff?)
  9. Just got back from an adventure that got a little more adventurey than I expected. Hike ended up in river bottom with lots of willows to fight my way through and now I have super wet feet. My love of not following the trail gets me in trouble sometimes. Hah. I'm going to count it as a new trail, even though there wasn't much of a trail. Ended up with 2.8 miles on Wed, 1.8 on Thurs, 1.6 on Friday, but that may have been more...did a walk without the phone on accident. Oops. THen I got 4.5 on Sat and 3.5 today YAY. Oh and a bike ride on Saturday that included another trail I'd never been on that was 6.38 miles. So my total for Mordor is 19.4. And I still have another walk I have to do today for my dogs PT. That's almost an average of 3 a day. Closer to the end goal for sure. I tracked the food. At least I did that. All was good food wise except Friday that involved beers (yum), nachos (yum) and chicken flautas....I went over the recommended amount a couple of days, but not a huge amount. I will get the hang of this. Grrr. Meditation, check. Water, need improvement but not terrible. Reading, on it! Pilates, twice this week...and my abs were killing me on Saturday. So not a bad first week, the warming weather is totally helping. Next week's challenge, more of the same and find a new pillow. Mine is trying to kill me.
  10. The baby elephant is killing me. So I one time thought it would be a great idea to wear a crappy prom dress in a Warrior Dash. Do you have any idea how heavy a pink satin dress is when soaked in mud. I looked exactly like that baby elephant. Exactly. So happy there isn't video of that. Ack.
  11. Glad to hear family is on the mend!
  12. Ok so totally not fitness related adventure last night, but nerd related for sure. Went to go see Tony DiTerlizzi do a talk with George RR about art and creating and writing and it was awesome. http://diterlizzi.com/home/(in case you don't know who Tony is, he's awesome). Mile are ramping up. Got 2.5 on Monday, 3.2 on Tuesday and so far today 1.7. Yay. I'm tracking the food. Sigh. I still hates it. Went over calories yesterday...hello beer. Did good on day one of the anti camel campaign...yesterday...not so good unless you count beers. Meditation on track. Did Pilates on Monday, almost not sore today. And I'm rocking the reading. So far, so good.
  13. I'd totally join that Doodlie club. Oh wait, I'd join all the Doodlie clubs...how do I find such a thing? I use the MFP...I use a different acronym in my head.
  14. Ack. So it's Monday and I'm finally getting my booty in gear to make my new challenge. Ooops. I will do a theme next challenge. (hopefully) But this challenge is just freestyle. So first up. I have to face the fork. Sigh. I must start tracking food, even though I hates it. It works. It makes me drink less beer, or at least skip some chocolate for more beer later. Track all the days. Then more miles! I kind of peetered out last challenge on miles and was only doing about 2 a day. So this time, let's hit 3 a day (I can average, in case of epic hikes, more on that later). Then more water. Somehow because it wasn't on the challenge....I decided that I was a camel and needed not to hydrate. Bad. Bad for me and bad for eating. So 64oz a day, more for bonus points. Go on new adventures. I picked adventurer for a reason dammit. So hike at least 4 new trails or places during the challenge. Bonus points for extras! These are just the things that usually happen, but I'm putting them here to remind me. Meditate...this one should be easier, since I now like it and it's a habit. Yay. Strength...two pilates classes a week. ( I may add the third strength in as a challenge later...I've sucked at getting in so far) Read 15 a day. Keep reminding myself that all this, makes me stronger, happier and will someday get me an ass to compete with Def's.
  15. Oooh, you did a great challenge. I'm just stalking this round, since my life has taken over...um my life. Der. Anyway, you are all freaking awesome!
  16. Ok what happened this week. I fell off the boards. Life got busy...but it's all good. So this challenge I managed to make meditation a habit. YAY. I think I've conquered the naughty stomach. I didn't draw as much as I'd like, but I did get a ton of creative stuff done...so I'll call that a fair trade. I walked everyday....but I think I need to up my miles or maybe my intensity or both for crying out loud. I'm 131 miles closer to Mordor, but I think it's time to challenge myself a bit more. I think it's time to battle the war of the fork for next time.
  17. I have two very silly German Shepherds. Ack it's the last week.
  18. Hey how did it get to be Friday? Wed I did 5,337 steps 2.5 miles. Meditated, check Should have done strength, but didn't. Oops. Did not draw. Bah. Thursday I did 3,811 steps 1.8 miles. Sigh. Meditated, yay. Did a killer pilates workout. Did not draw. I also did some awesome dog training, which has nothing to do with this challenge, but makes me happy anyway. Oh and got some more jobs. And tried a new recipe that was awesome and easy. Hello Orange Ginger Crockpot Chicken, I like you. Today is
  19. Do the thing everyday. Man I need this right now. Just keep swimming. You go girl! Thanks again for the inspiration!
  20. Thanks Spooky! Ok Here's a late update. Week Three. Day one: Walked 2751 1.3 miles. Ooops. Meditated, yup! Strength...pilates crazy pants style. My teacher, who I love is a bit crazy. Drew. Nope. Dang, why is this one so easy to not do? Day 2: Walked 7,141, 3 miles, that's more like it. Meditated....um nope, went to see Deadpool and have date night with husband unit. Strength. not today. Drew. See above watched awesome move and hung out and drank beer...but did not have pizza had a nice chicken burger instead. I'm back in the morning walk thing after vacation, so that's good. Meditation is doing much better than last challenge. But life got busy and drawing is totally taking a back burner. Maybe it was one too many new habits to add. Maybe I can only do one at a time. Anyway I'll try again today, slow and steady. Super Turtle Power!
  21. I'm baaaaccck! I survived my time in the wild deserts of Texas. How are you all? I'm sore but happy and I hope you all are good. I'm ready for week 3!
