  1. And breathe - today has been a recalibration day I think! So much so that I'm not going to record what I did and didn't do From tomorrow my goals shall be thusly: Switching from the Darebee Hero's Journey to a combination of stretches/controlled bodyweight stuff that won't aggravate my foot (20 minute workout before breakfast) Calories at 1600-1800 (unless my foot magically heals overnight - that's a possibility, right??) Sugar shall remain the same! (As in 10% reduction, haha) Inorite? It was so nearly healed after damaging it last week and all I had to do was not fight everyone in the dojo but my brain was like, 'nooooooo you'll be fiiiiiine - you're invincible, right?!' No, Brain, no I am not! But lesson (hopefully) learned - I'm just super bummed as I have a competition in 2 weeks that I was super looking forward to! 'Sup, nerd? I was the English girl who kept falling asleep because omg jet lag, does that rings any bells?
  2. Weeelllll when I say I'll get through this... I may have just broken my foot... Soooooooo I guess I can still stick to the sugar thing and recalculate calories for less training... Day 4 : 147g out of a goal of 146g... comfort, thy name is food! Modified workout to account for foot but I think I made it to level 2? 2,063 calories but a reasonable amount of that was cake/chocolate. Tomorrow is another day!
  3. My trouble is I'm a massive perfectionist so already I'm feeling like - I'm not gonna get straight As? May as well give up now! But I will get through this! Got pretty much murdered at judo last night so I'm trying not to feel to bad about only reaching level 1 this morning. And I swung by my gran's last night who greeted me with a massive bag of chocolate D: I've hidden them now though and actually just ate one before putting the rest away - madness! The only thing I'm really struggling with at the moment is posting a picture of my hair, haha - I've had it styled most of this week and it's been looking pretty fiiine (omg that tip about braiding when it's wet - genius! Thanks Koaladle!!) but I still feel really weird taking selfies There will be photographic evidence by sunday though!
  4. Day 3 ~ 112g of sugar. Going surprisingly well with this - will be interesting when I have to cut to below 100 :/ Workout - all arms D: much struggle, made it to level two before I had to give up! Didn't fit weapons practice in either *grump* 2,172 calories - yaaaas thank you extra meal after work!
  5. Day 2! 91g of sugar not bad considering 30g of that was a brownie... Workout - had to modify the lunges because my toe's a bit bust at the moment (pro tip - don't accidentally kick people in the shins when sparring :/) And unless I do another 200 leg raises before bed (in 30 mins...) I probably won't be getting to level 3... 1903 calories :/ I feel like maybe that's enough anyway? I have snacks of seeds/nuts/dried fruit portioned out but it's just a question of being in the right place at the right time... I guess having them as a backup in case I'm tempted to binge is good enough? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ hrm hrm
  6. First day! Well, I absolutely slew my Hero's Journey for today - seriously love that program! The only real difficulty is getting out of bed in time D: but setting my alarm 15mins early so I can pretend I'm having a lie in seems to work Sugar = 106g! Still worryingly high as I didn't go crazy on anything but still, baby steps! Calories = 1,931 - ooh so close! I've just eaten a massive bowl of yoghurt/fruit/granola but still wasn't enough to get me over (seriously small breakfast today I guess...) Shall try to plan better next week if this is still happening! Cheers and fingers crossed! Please please do send me any tips or links to tips on hair! I do have a pair of straighteners that I've used maybe twice so any advice on how to naturally manipulate my hair to make it not look like I've been lost in the woods would be awesome!   8. Heyo, So I've been following NF pretty passively for a while - I have made changes to my diet etc which I think helped? But it’s fluctuated a lot and I've recently found myself slipping back into bad habits (binge eating is the actual bane of my existence!) I went to Camp NF this year which was AWESOME and I think I levelled up a lot, especially confidence-wise and one of the things I realised was that hey, as you’re all such cool froods, maybe one of these challenges might be a good idea! Pretty much all my motivation is channelled into improving my martial arts in some way or other; I train karate 5+ hours a week plus an hour of judo and an hour of bootcamp style training (completed Tough Mudder this year! Booyah!) Before the summer I was around 19% body fat and I was pretty happy there so I’m hoping to get back down there, or at least stop emotional eating (mmm emotions) Main Quest: 18% body fat (taken from tape measure) 1) Reduce sugar 10% each week (currently at 162g (oops) per day (MFP)) (A=6 days B=5 days C=4 days)Week 1: 145.8Week 2: 129.6Week 3: 113.4Week 4: 97.2Week 5: 81 (Comfortable level)Week 6 64.8 2) Pre-breakfast workout daily (http://darebee.com/programs/hero-journey.html) (A=5 lvl 3 B=4 lvl 3 C=3 lvl 3) 3) Eat 2000 - 2220 calories daily (prepare healthy snack food in advance) (A=Plan&prep Sunday B=Plan&Prep morning C=Kitchen raid!) Life Quest: So I got my haircut super short about 3 years ago and while I really, really liked it I found myself jealous of all the awesome updo’s suddenly unavailable to me :/ It’s now just past my shoulders but I can seriously never be bothered to do anything with it so I just shove it in a ponytail and ignore it irregardless of the situation. I think this is partly because I was never into hair and makeup growing up so how people make themselves look awesome has always remained a mystery… Therefore I am going to use this challenge to learn some simple braiding techniques and up my hair game!
