  1. I have a suggestion! This worked for me as I had some of the same issues going paleo - Get a probiotic supplement. Those little gut bugs solved my problem. Give it a try if you aren't already using them.
  2. Ok--so here's my question - How much success have ya'll had improving your midsection with just heavy lifting? I've starting on the heavy lifting thing and I'd totally love it if I didn't have to do all those stomach excercises because so many of them feel like they are doing diddly squat. I've found a few that hit the mark, but if a ripped midsection could be had with squats, deadlifts and the like I'd be thrilled to keep it at that. Anyone with some good experience in this? Thanks!
  3. I'm a 43 (today!) year old mom of two, and I work full time. Hubby is a stay at home dad right now. I've always been active and most recently I've been mostly running...I've been running since I was 15. In my twenties and thirties I competed in triathlon and USCF cycling too. My last race was a 50K ultra trail run. But all the cardio ain't cuttin' it. It was leaving me feeling exhausted for the most part and I still was a little soft around the middle. Fuhgettabout the arms...yuck. I really wanted a body that was totally fit and strong all over. I started reading up on paleo and crossfit style training, esp. on Mark's Daily Apple. So here I am. I've been dialing it in hard for the last few weeks and I'm feeling strength gains and seeing some results so far. The scale hasn't budged at all, but I know that doesn't mean anything. I'm going to bop over to Amazon.com and get a fat caliper to do some real tracking. Oh--I'm about 5'7" and 145 lbs. I was totally inspired by the weightlifter gal here, Staci?--I think that's her name. She looks awesome and I'd like to attain that. I'm not afraid of lifting heavy and I WANT muscle. Lots of it. I'm still baffled that you can get such a nice midsection by just lifting and doing the power moves, but since crunches don't feel like they are doing anything for me, well then I hope I don't have to waste my time on them anymore! That's me in a nutshell. My first goal is to get my bodyfat down into the teens and get definition all over. Thanks for reading!
