Tough Mudder down in around three hours. Next challenge: Super Spartan August 24th. Who's going with me?

Decided I'm going to sign up for some of those edX classes. Only ones open right now are Intro Physics, and Circuits and Electronics. Circuits requires differential equations, so I decided to re-learn trig tonight and tomorrow, so I can teach myself differential equations. Yeah, I'm a fucktard.

You shouldn't rush into something that you don't have a foundation for, this is just setting yourself up for failure; and none of us want to see that happen. As for differential equations not only do you need Calc I, II, and III but also vector analysis. Then there is the question of which Differential equations you need for the course: partial or applied ordinary? Maybe both? Trig is a pre-req or Calc I and it is used continuously for the courses that I listed off. Maybe you should t...

Strange, it cut off the end of your reply. Also, it's an un-timed course, so if I have to learn more I will. Basically it's been several years since I've done college level math, so I'm seeing one thing and remembering that I need to know another, so I'm refreshing across the board. Still, free MIT classes? Kinda awesome.

The last bit of my comment that was cut off was me saying that I think you should take the intro to physics course. If it is just the algebra based one then you'll have plenty of opportunity to brush up on your trig. If it is the calculus based one then you'll have to know how to do derivatives and integrals. But yes, it is awesome that MIT has free classes, and it is definitely something that you should take advantage of.

So, in January I was around 215lbs and a size 37 waist. As of today I'm a 32, and i'm down to 179lbs. Hell yes.
