  7. So, I didn't have a single can of soda yesterday! That's crazy impressive for me since... well I don't remember the last time I haven't had any soda! I'm still not going cold turkey, I want to slowly stop drinking it entirely so it becomes more of a lifestyle change. But progress!!! I'm struggling a little bit with waking up each morning and doing the whole walk/run thing. =/ I think I just have to remember that it's only 5 minutes and I'll feel much better about it when I actually do it!

  11. Well, Thanksgiving made things a little challenging... lol. I had 2 pieces of pie, but I did so willingly - and kept most of my meal choices pretty healthy without overeating. Plus, we ended up playing a pretty intense game of football (~1hr.) And in the evening went for a hike (~2hrs.) which ended up including quite a bit of rock climbing! Overall, not a bad day and this is probably the first time I've every been sore after Thanksgiving because of exercise (my belly is usually sore from eating too much O.o)... Success
  12. Well, I figured I'd start a public log - I much less likely to lie to random strangers on the interwebz than in my hidden personal log! Plus, I'm much more likely to keep the log going if I'm posting it somewhere! FOOD LOG - I've just recently started the Nerd Fitness Plan, which will eventually grow into a lifestyle centered around eating Paleo. So bear with me, I just began Level 1 a week ago, which means I'm doing nothing more than logging all my food, which is keeping me pretty honest! Surprising how I won't eat a cookie now that I know it has to go into the log... Oh, and I work some random graveyard shift thing, so don't make fun of my meal order! Breakfast Chicken Leg Chicken Rice Blend Asparagus Steak Oscar Broccoli Lunch Chicken and Rice Soup Snack Mixed Nuts Protein Shake - Post Workout Dinner Green Wrap Ham and Egg Burrito Corn-beef Hash 3x Bacon Onion Hash Brown FITNESS LOG - In the Academy, recently began the Barbell Brigade, Level 1. I will be working out at every other day! Workout B Deadlift - 3x5: 135/95/95 (Super sore from yesterday's hike) Barbell Push Press - 5x5: 65/65/85/85/85 Barbell Lunge - 3x16: 45/45/65/65/65 Pullups - 3x Max: 6/4/3 Reverse Crunch - 3x10: 10/10/10 (Couldn't complete the Star Power today... super sore O.o)

  14. So yesterday I ended up having to work a 15-hour day... It was hour 13.5 and my coworker offered me a free energy drink. Out of habit I said absolutely! And then... I enacted my Iron Will feat! .. and politely said "actually, no thanks." The only thing I could think about was being able to post this accomplishment afterwards! It works! So far I've only had one can of soda a day since I began, so I'm sticking with it and I already feel so much better!!!
  15. Hiya Perpugiliam! I'm brand new as well, so welcome and good luck! But honestly, I really think you could get away with dressing up like River Song, playing the ukulele, and walking around your neighborhood all at the same time, lol! In fact, that sounds like an outstanding workout routine!
