  1. Thanks Little Turtle! 1) Stretch for 10 minutes twice a week - CHECK PLUS... 3 times 2) 5 miles per week walking outdoors. I need the Vit D! - So Failed 3 times in a row: obviously it just isn't happening right now. I am still battling a cough which isn't helping me want to be outdoors. So I am going to alter this slightly. I want to hit 5000 steps daily. 3) 8 cups water daily - Check-minus 6/7 Didn't get it Saturday. Life: L) Making sure I get all my hours in during the week to keep weekends open. - check
  2. 1) Stretch for 10 minutes twice a week - CHECK PLUS... 3 times 2) 5 miles per week walking outdoors. I need the Vit D! - NOPE... 1 mile. I think this might have been a poor goal. While in theory I want to do it, I am finding in practice I have other things I am making much more a priority (like make homemade meals ). I will see how this week goes but I am just not sure about this. 3) 8 cups water daily - Check Life: L) Making sure I get all my hours in during the week to keep weekends open. - half check. I got enough done to have a weekend free of work... but I didn't put in the number of hours I wanted to.
  3. Last week was rough but I knew it would be. I had a horrible flu that kept me on the couch to disfunctional to even handle reading fluffy romance novels for 3 days. So I went to the doctor and got the good drugs. Then I slept for 6 days. I am finally doing better but I couldn't go outdoors without getting into a coughing fit (its cold here and that seemed to trigger it). So my final for the week was... 1) Stretch for 10 minutes twice a week - CHECK 2) 5 miles per week walking outdoors. I need the Vit D! - NOPE... NOT EVEN ONE MILE 3) 8 cups water daily - I am giving myself this one. It wasn't all water but my fluid intake was very high. It was a combo of water, OJ, hot tea w/ honey, and hot cocoa. As I started feeling better I have started only counting straight water again. Life: L) Making sure I get all my hours in during the week to keep weekends open. - CHECK a weekend free of work... oh how I hate Mondays...
  4. Going old school: White board calendar on the door
  5. 3 Goals: 1) Stretch for 10 minutes twice a week 2) 5 miles per week walking outdoors. I need the Vit D! 3) 8 cups water daily Life: L) Making sure I get all my hours in durring the week to keep weekends open. FYI) I will probably only post here weekly.
  6. Hi Everyone! IMy life has been a little busy (hence the lack of updates). Thanks for all the encouragement! I really want to do the Zelda theme, but am just a little too busy right now to be involved in a challenge. So for now, I am going to back out of this challenge. Then I will pick this challenge back up for the next 6-week challenge. Again thanks for the support and Good Luck with your own goals.
  7. Cook 2 Primal Meals <-- One doneDo 4 different exercises (yoga, biking, lifting weights, etc)Track every penny spent for 2 days <--DoneGo to Church (Weekday mass is accepted for completion of this task) <--Done I fell away from the eating goal this weekend, but am ready to start back in on it again this week. I had a large group over for dinner on Friday night, and with preparing for that I did not get around to cooking my meals on Thursday. Doing great with the spending one. I am using the iSpend app and it seems to be working really well for this goal. Tap lesson went well and I got my exercise in for the week. Still working on the 4 different types of exercises for completing this dungeon on my quest to save the princess.
  8. Thanks Shoobie. Hugs are always appreciated I haven't done stir fries in a while. Maybe I will break them back out. Yeah, I think it is the carb flu. It really hasn't been bad other than the tired. I did my tap dancing lesson today. It was amazing. Thankfully it seemed to be the thing that I needed to get back on board with exercising. I really like learning new skills, and while I can acknowledge that deadlifting 15 more pounds is an accomplishment, it never gets me excited. I much prefer to be learning something completely new than perfecting what I already know. Looking forward to tomorrow's workout for a change. Hi alarep! Thanks. We have kept all our old nintendo systems for the explicit purpose of breaking them out to replay Zelda games. The Boy Without a Fairy Clean out the crap food <--CompleteGet the good stuff <---CompleteOutline my routine: include shopping for groceries, preping food, & working out <---completeSign up for lessons <---complete (tap and curling)Purchase any items that I know I will need in the coming weeks <---complete (purchased some containers for storing homemade salad dressingsSegment Complete The Journey Continues... Inside the Great Deku Tree Equipped with both a sword and shield, Link once again approaches his rival. Mido grudgingly moves aside, tossing out an insult as Link sprints passed. Aaaah! Evil Deku Babas shoot out of the ground right in front of the young lad. Slashing them down with his sword, Link stumbles out of the path to come face-to-face with the Great Deku Tree. The Great Deku Tree explains that he has been cursed by an evil descending across all of Hyrule, and that Link holds the power to break the curse. Opening his mouth, the Great Deku Tree allows link to enter. Climbing vines and leaping gaps, Link makes his way through the Deku Tree, gaining a slingshot for his efforts. Finally, falling down a pit, Link approaches the Parasitic Armored Arachnid, Queen Gohma. This first dungeon is all about mastering the basics. Can you jump from platform to platform. Do you know that when you see a shadow it means that something is about to fall on you? To complete this dungeon, I need to master some of my own basics skills. Cook 2 Primal MealsDo 4 different exercises (yoga, biking, lifting weights, etc)Track every penny spent for 2 daysGo to Church (Weekday mass is accepted for completion of this task) Side Quest (because really what is a Zelda game without some side quests): In honor of getting the first deku stick, I will learn one new trick with my . Side Note: After this I am going to try to make the tasks actual workouts themed around the game tasks...I think...
  9. Doing well so far. The challenge for me is going to start a little later when my classes get back into full swing.
  10. Hi HulmeK. Any chance of making the new fun activity something you can do with your girls?
  11. Goals look good. I am very impressed that you can pick up running that quickly. While I don't have great advice myself on the weight training starting point, you might post that questions in the chat thread. Someone there can probably give you some hints.
  12. I made a similar change from internet / tv towards reading a while ago. Now I find myself having to limit my reading time. I will say 30 minutes seems really short. I am interested to see how this works out for you.
