  2. Ahhh, the pre-thanksgiving dinner. It went pretty well. I limited myself to one piece of pumpkin pie and just a spoonful of stuffing. I still felt pretty tired (must have been the turkey) afterward. My goal right now is to "tighten up" on my workouts over the next week. This should help make Thanksgiving have less of an impact on my body. I am organizing a football game Thanksgiving morning among some peers. This should help also. I heard you burn 3-400 calories when you play football for an hour. That would be sweet. I could have a second round of turkey and not feel as bad
  3. Hey there, You are close to where I was in June. I was able to take the weight off with diet and exercise. If you have an iPhone or iPod touch, there is a great app for tracking calories called Lose It. It really helped me. I am about an inch taller (depending on the shoes I am wearing and was at 198 when I started (164 now). Injuries do suck, but I know you can do it!
  4. Put my butt on the scale today (along with the rest of me) and realized I was at 164. It was not hard to come to that realization because, well, that is what the scale said. This means I already lost a pound Today I will be fighting my cravings for M & M's and beer. It will be a little difficult as my wife is hosting a "pre" thanksgiving get together for some friends....you guessed it; pumpkin pie, apple crisp, and soda, as far as the eye can see. I may use the Men's Health napkin method to fight this. They recommend taking a cocktail napkin to the buffet instead of a plate. Only p
  5. I usually only do three sets: 1 set of 5 1 set of 2-3 Max out (usually 3-5) and I do that every two days (if I do them on Tuesday, I wont do them again until Friday)

  8. Been a long time since I posted here. Race: Human (5'8", 165lbs, Male, sounds as average as it gets to me) Goal 1 = lose ten pounds of fat (I think it is all in my stomach...yup, it is!   10. My life story I think it might be good to kind of reflect on the weight loss / fitness journey a little. See, I was a fat kid. Talkin 200 pounds as a 7th grader (at about 5 foot 3 inches). At this point, eating was not the issue, not moving was. I played baseball in ninth grade but that was it. Most of the time I played Nintendo. I was the Zelda master...   12. Saturday started out OK. As I posted above, I had a donut (seems like it is my weakness, I always thought my weakness was things made of dark chocolate...) then I got sick. I sneezed once and felt my sinuses drain. And drain. And drain some more. I was stuffed up beyond belief. Then my throat started to hurt more and more. No. This cannot be. The cough came shortly after and I felt like I was hit by a truck.   14. You would not believe how good those Arby's market fresh sandwiches are. I dont even want to check the nutritional label. I have a lot of physical labor laid out this weekend. Should be a good sweat fest. Gotta replace a ceiling in my basement, finish up some garden prep and on and on.   15. I love it when your metabolism starts rolling. Know what I mean? It seems that once you get started in your workouts, something happens around the second week and you start shedding pounds by sweating like Mike Tyson in a spelling bee. I woke up this morning at 196! That is two pounds in three days! And I did not really even try. Shoot, I had the stupid birthday donut the other day! I think all my hard work over the last week, and especially the weekend, paid off. But I want to be a little more disciplined. I am hoping to find a "poor mans" P90X out there. Anyone have any ideas?
