  1. Don't feel too bad about not exercising when you are sick, just focus on getting some rest and feeling better. The hardest part can be getting your momentum back when you are feeling better, but you can do it! Hope you feel better soon.
  2. Hey lulurider, Sounds like you are doing well! Keep up the great work!
  3. Update so far this week: NO CAFFEINE: Haven't had any since Sunday. The headaches are gone now, yay! And, since I'm not drinking soda or coffee, my water intake has increased. EATING OUT: This has also been a success. It has been difficult this week because my car is out of commission so I haven't really had a way, or the time since my commute is longer, to go get food, but so far I have managed to make do. I ate breakfast in this morning (that's been my meal out all week) so I'm looking forward to my lunch out today (no more leftovers!) WORKOUTS: On Tuesday I completed the BBWW and have been sore ever since. On my lunch the past couple days I have gone and walk/jogged on the treadmill. I'm working up to being able to run a mile again! Today I finally feel like I'm ready to do the BBWW again. I'm trying not to think about the soreness that will follow and instead focus on the end result: a stronger me! DECLUTTER: I haven't started this project yet. I think Sunday will be the day I begin. I have some prep I need to do before hand (like getting boxes/bags for donations and trash) Of course I am starting with the hardest room, my bedroom. It ends up being the dumping ground every time the rest of the house gets cleaned, so it has become quite crowded.
  4. Thanks lulurider! :-) Thanks-and feel free to steal it. I have a horrible habit of holding onto things that I don't need so my sister recommended reading "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Marie Kondo. I have found it to be an interesting read so far. It's all about changing your relationship with the stuff you own. I'm hoping this will help me get rid of more stuff and keep only the stuff that really matters to me or makes me happy.
  5. Hi! I'm technically a Rebel because I am new, but I am definitely going to be a Ranger! I'm looking for some help staying committed to not just the workouts, but to the forum as well.
  6. Hey Justice Jones! It's so easy to make excuses. I find myself doing the same thing all the time. It become an automatic response and I have to fight myself to push the excuse aside and just do it. These are solid goals, and I look forward to seeing you at the finish line for this challenge! You can do it
  7. Hi Huntress! Welcome back. I'm so excited (and a wee bit jealous) about your planned hiking trip. I've never done multi-day hiking before, but that is my goal for this summer. I hope you have a fantastic trip! One of the things I always struggle with when eating healthier is food/snacks for at work. What kinds of things did you find to put in your snack boxes for work?
  8. Oh if only reading could be a sport! I just wanted to wish you the best on you challenge! I know how hard it can be to slay the soda dragon. Small steps are a great way to succeed though. Welcome to the rebellion!
  9. I have been lurking on the forum for a while now and finally decided it is time to step out of the shadows and into the light. I ended the year on a pretty sad note and I don't want another year to pass in this same monotonous life. At the end of this year I want my body (and my life) to reflect the person I am inside. So, onward to a new me. My goals for this challenge are as follows: Diet 1: NO CAFFEINE I have done it before and felt so much better after. I swore I wouldn’t get back into that daily habit again, but somewhere along the way I got stuck back in that rut. Time to brush myself off and pull myself out. Diet 2: REDUCE EATING OUT BY 66% (= only 1 meal per day can be from a restaurant) I was going to start with cutting my eating out by half, but I figured by nixing the caffeine in the morning, there is one more meal I am likely to eat in. My first goal will help me complete this one. Fitness: COMPLETE ONE 30 MIN. WORKOUT 5 DAYS PER WEEK I don’t care what I’m doing as long as I am doing something. (Walking, biking, running, hiking, etc.) I’m going to aim for doing the beginner body weight workout twice a week and walk/jog the other days, but I don’t want to lock myself into specific workouts at this point. Level up: DE-CLUTTER/ORGANIZE ONE ROOM That’s it. Just one room. I already have a game plan, now to put it into action.
  10. "It takes time in life to realize ones ideals. Impatience makes one lose sight of his surroundings and invites failure."
