  1. Look up some recipes for fat bombs, they're especially common in Keto diets to make sure you're meeting your macros/energy needs. You can easily find some paleo friendly ones to do. As for calorie counting, if you're looking to put on pounds then I really would do it for maybe two weeks just to get an idea of what you're actually taking in. Paleo doesn't mean not calorie counting, its just you usually don't have to worry about it as much since you're eating healthier and lower calorie foods in general (if you're doing it right anyway). I'm really not sure how you're getting that number from your Fitbit, you must be doing some insane exercising if you're skinny and burning that much. Also remember the fitbit isn't as accurate as it claims to be. 3500 calories is a pound of fat. If you're burning that then you need to be taking in more than that to compensate and gain weight. My fitbit calories burned reflects my TDEE as well, so hopefully your 3600 is including that (I imagine it would have to be). Go here, enter your stats, figure out a ballpark of what your body is burning. BMR is what your body uses for vital functions, literally just enough to survive if you weren't doing any physical activity whatsoever (staying in bed all day). TDEE is what your body is expending including daily activities, and this website will give you an idea of that based off your activity level. Below that you can look at your macros (click on bulking) to figure out what you need to be taking in to gain that weight you want. https://tdeecalculator.net/
  2. Sooo I was there then, and yeah the weather was on and off It was COLD but oddly didn't snow even though it was snowing back home (Mass) The park was AMAZING and beautiful but we only hung around the Park Road Loop driving around and stopping at various spots. It was too cold to hit the trails and wound up raining half the week. However our second to last day we braved the pouring rain to check out Thunder Hole which I think the rain made much more interesting. The town is beautiful and fun but next time I go I have to go maybe like a month earlier, there were a few things we wanted to check out (restaurants and attractions) that had JUST closed for the season a few weeks before. The deals I got on the shops that were just starting to close were great though.
  3. IF seems to work for a lot of people under the condition that they usually ate in that time frame anyway. I generally never ate breakfast before, and didn't eat until lunchtime at work and then at dinner. Because it was such a habit already, I didn't notice much of a difference at all when I got stricter with the 16.8 concept. HOWEVER, the importance is understanding that because avoiding breakfast was already a habit of mine, and general healthy eating was not, I was still consuming way too many calories at my other two meals. Basically, if you're in the habit of eating whenever the time and switch it'll help by sheer factor of cutting calories from one meal. It's something that HAS to be combined with a healthy diet, unlike the nonsense I've been doing.
  4. CONGRATS! It's such a nice feeling, and now you can focus on clothing that accentuates your weight loss!
  5. Those are great milestones! Congratulations!
  6. Seems unlikely we'll get an answer at this point though haha Must still be a work in progess
  7. Oh man... I forgot that was a thing We'll just have to keep our separate universes safe!
  8. I'm able to use Goku Black in the PQs now but I can't find the vehicle, gotta figure out how to get that I agree, this is the EXACT game I wanted so desperately when I was a kid Mine is Tarrun, but I have to renew my PSN account first
  9. So I'm a 36 DD, so good sports bras are automatically important. I'm also super paranoid about nips too, it's just a pet peeve of mine. Probably stems from seeing it so often in work situations where it's not considered appropriate. I have one of the padded cupped sports bras from VS, it's nice but gotten too big on me now. Definitely a bit awkward feeling though support wise. I also have their standard thin smushy ones (though let me tell you XL is their biggest and it's still a little tight). If I'm at the gym its usually warm enough that I'm okay, but if I'm outside than I generally have on some layers so that helps as well. All else fails I suppose mole skin could work...? But I wouldn't.
  10. Anyone pick it up yet and start it out? What's your patroller looking like?
  11. I asked the same thing in the Suggestions forum and haven't gotten a response yet..... It says early 2016 in the little blurb about it being revamped I'm hoping it comes soon, I wanted to represent at events too
  12. First I'd try to add more protein and fiber to your dinners, that could help you last out the night. I know I wake up hungry if I don't have a filling enough healthy dinner. But the same applies for the midnight snack. Try having some precooked chicken lying around in the fridge and eat about 3oz of that? Or even a packet of tuna?
  13. Oh, I forgot to mention to consider your tax bracket before deciding between the 401k and the Roth, while 401k is tax deductible now the Roth will be a much better option if you think you'll be in a higher bracket by retirement age. For someone your age (sorry I snooped on your profile) that's a very likely (and ideal) possibility. (Also reach out to an accountant, very important step)
  14. IRA first and foremost, put in the max $5500 ($6500 for any 50+ individuals for anyone reading) if you're able and comfortable with that. Adversely, you could do as Maigahane said and raise your 401k contributions from your paycheck and use some of these funds to compensate for the loss in your take home from that. Take a look at your investment opportunities in the Roth vs the 401k. Sometimes you'll be able to get better portfolio options with the 401k, and it's tax deductible where a Roth wouldn't be. Be sure to check your employers contribution limit to the 401k, the official tax limit is 18k per year but some employers don't allow more than 10%, Can I ask why you're not comfortable with CDs at the moment? If you look around you can usually get close to 2%, which may not be the best historically but it is a solid reliable source of interest and probably the best around at the moment. If you search really hard for new branches, many banks or credit unions will offer good Money Market deals as well. My branch offered 2% variable when we opened, but even then it's barely gone down so far.
  15. Have any of you guys hit up Acadia in Maine? I'm taking a vacation at the end of October to Bar Harbor and I'm planning on trekking around the park as much as I can. I've heard the paths are pretty decent for newcomer hiking, so I'm feeling pretty confident about being able to handle it. But it's also a huge park so if anyone has suggestions at the best areas that'd be cool
  16. I do like to use frozen broccoli especially but I tend not to like it if I'm roasting. I use it all the time for stir fry though I haven't tried prepping them ahead of time yet, being afraid of them going bad, but I may try to do that with the things I cook tonight. Chop some extras.
  17. Oh god that freezing in the rain and then nice warm shower and blankets feeling is the absolute best thing in the world. I'm lucky in that I do like a large portion of veggies, so as long as I'm willing to chop them up and throw them in the oven when I get home I'll be fine. It's getting into the habit of that, and BREAKING the habit of going out whenever I'm not feeling up to it, that's the hardest part for me. I've built a habit on "Im tired, I don't feel good, Im having a bad day.... lets go out for dinner" (and im not the type that has the willpower to be healthy at restaurants) I think I'm gonna try your advice about the limiting comfort foods, when I get into health mode I tend to go to extremes and then crash. So far I'm trying to save the majority of comfort foods for weekends.
  18. I'll agree with the certain jobs factor, it's hard for me to find finance appropriate attire because of my large breast size. It SUCKS because it's such an unfair standard, in a lot of ways I either look lewd or frumpy and not much in between unless I want to shop at super high end retailers. Also do consider difficulty in finding proper clothing sizes if you have a large bust but a skinny waist. HOWEVER, if you still feel like it's the choice you want then go for it! But do be careful with exercising afterward. Light walking is your best option. Breast augmentation is still a surgery and you will need quite a bit of recovery time if you want it to heal properly and avoid complications. I'd stay away from any sort of strength training for quite a while after, especially any upper body or core.
  19. So I want to say that I let life get the best of me and ruin my chances at success, but the honest answer is I used life as an excuse to ALLOW myself to fail. Went clothes shopping yesterday and it was pure hell. Not only do I have that awful struggle of petit pants being JUST too high for me, if I buy regular size I'm going to have to get each pair hemmed. So there's an extra $10 to spend on that. But hey, I can't fix being awkwardly short. What I CAN fix, is trying hard enough to lose weight and gain muscle so I can fit into a smaller size and thus smaller length (generally). Same applies for shirts, I can't find anything that fits my body size because I allowed myself to build back up to where I started. SO I'M ON A MISSION TO LEARN DISCIPLINE. I always fail because I allow myself to fail, motivation falls and I let that be my excuse. It's rainy out, I don't want to eat healthy. I don't feel good, I want comfort food (even though I'm aware healthy eating would get rid of the constant malaise.) You all know the excuses. But if I can learn discipline, I can keep going this time? It's so hard to get started when you feel like garbage. It makes you want to just give up and lose hope. But it was pointed out to me just how much weight I've gained since I started dating my girlfriend, and I want to go back to looking good next to her. So I have to figure this out.
  20. I know, I know, I SHOULD invest in a good pair of shoes for hiking. BUT considering I'm only just starting, and really only going on one trip to Acadia National Park before the winter sets in (and including my low funds status), I'm looking for a pair that maxes out at maybe $60. Does anyone have good suggestions for places to look? I've checked out Kohls, DSW, and Target so far. Any brands that offer cheaper options?
  21. Are there any updates on how the Nerd Fitness merchandise store is coming along? I know a new store is in the works and the main page says early 2016. Hopefully this is still happening?
  22. You still did a great job getting out there and buying the good stuff! One pizza for dinner wont kill your progress, just keep going the rest of the time
  23. In my respawn, I was doing very well for a while and then crashed and burn. But hey, picking yourself back up is most of the battle right?
  24. I think in my experience it's a bit more of... fear of the EFFORT it requires. And fear of failing. But there's definitely a part of me that's a little afraid of what it may be like. I'm a little scared of what life is like on the other side when I don't have "being unhealthy" as an excuse to hide behind. But that's the best part! Overcoming it all.
  25. You can me onto Instinct!! Just hit lvl 21. Using the Lucky Eggs right before hatching and evolving is a great strategy I wish I had done earlier. For now it works just as good though.
