  1. Hello, all my ranger friends. I'm back once again. As I have been absent for a while, I'm going to ease my way back into things with what should be a fairly easy challenge to keep up with. I have had a few significant changes since I have been gone, which I will elaborate on later. I am going to start the Just 6 weeks app again, doing pushups, situps, plank, and squats. I am also going to continue Walking to Mordor (and am currently on pace to make it to Mordor by the end of the year). I am also going to be keeping an eye on the amount of sleep I am getting and my net calories as determined by comparing my MFP intake vs my FitBit calories burned. I am going to be making regular reports here, although anyone interested in more detail can see my spreadsheet and my MFP and FitBit accounts (all linked below). Here is the plan: MWF - Pushups, Situps THF - Plank, Squats Daily - Walking to Mordor, Tracking sleep and net calories

  5. Thanks for asking my friends. It made me realize that once again, I've been spending more time reading everyone else's threads and neglecting my own lol. Week 3 was mostly a bust for me. Did not exercise much, although I did do fair on eating and good at staying away from the nicotine. Rather than make this post a mile long listing every day, just the week's summary here. Week 3 Summary Quit smoking. No cigarettes, 2 days with 1 mint-Mon and Sun Move heavy things. Lifting 1 x,-Sun Get off my butt. 0 x for exercise, total distance for the week was 15.13 miles. Sensible Eating. Net calories: 2,501/2,505 Carbs: 40% / 38% [274g] Fats: 37% / 38% [112g] Protein: 23% / 24% [152g]

  10. Well my friends, time for a more than overdue update. Apparently, I have been reading everyone else's threads and neglecting my own. LOL Although, not much to report actually. The end of week 2 downhill, pretty quickly. It began with a sore throat that began Wednesday night and lasted through mid-day Friday when it transitioned to completely blocked up sinuses. By Saturday the crud had pretty much passed, to be replaced by ice and snow that made leaving the house safely questionable. Today (Tuesday of Week 3) is going to be the first time leaving the house since early Saturday afternoon when the nasty weather started. Detailed reports below, although as I said, not much to report on. Week 2 Thursday Quit smoking. No cigarettes, 0 mints Move heavy things. No lifting today due to illness Get off my butt. Covered 2.84 miles overall Sensible Eating. net calories: 3,185 /2,505 Carbs: 50% / 38% [454g] Fats: 34% / 38% [137g] Protein: 16% / 24% [148g] Friday Quit smoking. Ran on treadmill 1 x for exercise, total distance for the week was 23 miles. Sensible Eating. Net calories: 2,772/2,505 Carbs: 41% / 38% [292g] Fats: 38% / 38% [120g] Protein: 21% / 24% [144g] Monday Quit smoking. No cigarettes, 1 mint Move heavy things. 15. Actually a bit longer, the 11th of this month was actually the end of a 12-week plan (should stop the mints then, but haven't quite been able to do that just yet) May have to take this into consideration myself as I'm 46 these days.
  16. For mileage, I let my Fitbit convert it for me. I also see the source of the misunderstanding [Walked 2x outside Mon and Wed. Covered a total of 31.94 miles] Let me try rephrasing.... Walked outside on Monday (1.84 miles in 32:36) and Wednesday (0.96 miles in 17:38). Walked a total of 31.94 miles this week.
  17. Think you are misunderstanding my numbers a little... my total for the day is all the steps my Fitbit records from midnight to midnight. The only exercise specific walks are the ones pointed out as such. So, not quite as impressive as you are thinking it is lol... my walking pace when I'm outdoors on the walking trail is probably just about what you are making on your hikes (typically approximately 3 mph, perhaps a little more as last time I checked a 5K walk distance it was a little under an hour and a little over 3 miles)
