  3. Quick update before i head to bed: the week so far (i know we are only really 2 days in..) is going well! I am seeing progress both in the gym AND on the scale (FINALLY!). I cut all gluten out of my diet 3 days ago and have dropped 3 lbs. Hit 224 on the scale this morning. I havent broke 225 in months so that was huge! My food is going well, im either making my days meals the night before or a few days at a time. I am sticking to my tracked food all the way, even tracking the 3 mini sour keys i had today. Overall a great start to the week, hopefully i can stay consisten this time! Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

  6. Ok so the weekend hasnt gone great in relation to my food consumption. Friday night i ate pizza. A lot of pizza. I had had a bit of a rough day emotionally, and as per usual for me, i turned to food for moral support. I didnt eat well yesterday either. I had a beer (yes only one but i dont usually drink and its empty calories), and I had a smoke for the first time in 6 months. So its been a weekend so far, but today is a new day. I got the call for my surgery, I have a consultation in 6 weeks, with surgery approx. 2 months after that. I need to go into my consult weighing as little as possible. So I worked out a tentative meal plan for the next week and we will see how it goes. Im cutting ALL gluten from my diet and all, purchased and made by someone else, food. So if i didnt make it, i cant eat it. It is going to be hard; I love LOVE my gluten. BUT I know I can do this. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

  16. Sorry to hear about your step mom, sending positive thoughts your way. Subbing - because we have very similar goals, and everyone needs a little community
  17. Crushing all the goals! The last of my initial goals when I started going to the gym fell today. I wanted to be able to bench 150lbs for at least 1 rep. Today, I did 5 reps at 155lbs. Can't believe the week I have been having, I've noticed I am looking leaner, there's more definition, and I am crushing my lifting days. Cardio has been off this week, but I think I needed to step away from heavy cardio this week and just get my head back in the right place. Lifting is where my heart is at, its why I fell in love with the gym, and cardio kills that for me sometimes. It feels more like a chore when I have to do cardio, whereas lifting is always a pleasure. Not to say I won't continue my cardio, I think I just needed a break this week.
  18. Thanks! I was super stoked on that! My next goal is to deadlift my bw which right now would be 225. Its nice to see progress again, ive felt like i was stuck for the last 3 weeks or so, so progress is good 👍 lol Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
  19. And i decided to go back to MFP for ease of use. Nutritionist is great in some respects but its time consuming to use and i have a good history with MFP lol Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
  20. So for the purposes of accountability, ive decided that it will be worth it for me to screenshot MFP and post it in here, i tracked everything yesterday, including the 8 timbits i ate and i still came out under my daily calories. (I dont include my exercise calories in my calculations as im trying to lose weight) Yesterday was great day! Crushed it at the gym, hit a huge PR. Did deadlifts, my old 1RM was 185lbs and yesterday i did a 5 rep set at 195lbs! I am so so happy with my progress and am off to a good start! Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
  21. Right?! I mean it does the job and its really about the only plants i dont (hopefully) kill haha and its more than just tracking, it gives my hydration purpose haha Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
  22. Oh i have many ideas for tattoos lol i THINK the next one i am going to get is a quote from Doctor Who. It says "Great men are forged in fire; it is the privilege of lesser men to light the flame". It is one of my all time favorite quotes, reminds me to be great Ive used plant nanny before and i enjoyed it, i just didnt remain consistent and didnt bother to download the app again after i got a new phone. So hopefully this time is different! Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
  23. Alright guys, here we are again. I've done a few challenges over the last couple of months and while I stick to them IRL, I always have a hard time updating my posts. So we are going to take another crack at this and hopefully this time you all actually get to follow along with me Main Goal: Get lean. - I need to lose weight. I know that while cardio helps, muscle helps more. I've built muscle and I've crushed all of my strength goals over the last few months. I've lost 25lbs (started at 250 and am currently between 225 and 228), but I have at least 25-30 more to lose. My ultimate goal weight is to be around 165lbs. My current predicament is that I am on a wait list for a major surgery. This surgery usually has a wait list of 2 to 3 years, I've been told I have at most 9 months. Here's the problem, the surgeons require that I be at a 32 BMI or less. At my height (short as fuck [5'3"]) that is right in the neighbourhood of 180lbs. I have between 4 to 8 more months to lose this weight. So here's the plan: Goal 1: Track EVERYTHING I put into my mouth. - This is where I sorely lack in both truth and dedication. I love food. More than I should clearly or I wouldn't be on the end of needing to lose weight. - To do this I am using an app called Nutritionist - what I like about this app so far (I've only been using it a couple of days) is that it breaks down what I macros I need to eat per meal and lets me choose how many meals I eat per day (currently 5, sometimes 6). If I end up not liking this app, I will go back to MFP. - I am also using a food scale to make sure that the portions I say I am eating, I am actually eating. Rewards: If I honestly track all of my food and liquid calories for the entire challenge [save one day a week (progress not perfection)], I will get 50xp and put $50 towards a tattoo. If I miss more than 2 days a week or more than 4 meals per week, I will get 25xp. Anything less than this and I get nothing. Goal 2: Drink my weight in WATER. - I love to drink, however it usually isn't water. Instead it is coffee or tea or something with flavour. - I really enjoy my apps, I need reminders of when to drink water and how much of it I need to drink, so I am using an app called Plant Nanny, It reminds me every couple of hours that I need to drink and if I forget to drink water, my plant dies. This has worked for me in the past but again, consistently is sorely lacking in my life and my diligence ends up falling by the wayside. - I have a 700ml water bottle that I will use every day and I know that I need to drink 4200ml (approx. 6 full bottles) per day. Rewards: If I drink at least 5 bottles per day, my plant shouldn't die, and I will receive 25xp. Goal 3: Put in the work, GRIND it out. - While I have been doing this for months, have lost 25lbs and have crushed some pretty hefty (for me) goals, the last month or so has been less than ideal. I've been half assing it both in and out of the gym and have come to a grinding halt both passion wise and results wise. - I train with a personal trainer 4x a week currently and will continue to do so. This is more about being actually present during my time with my PT and not off in lala land waiting for results to drop out of the sky. - I also do 2.5 - 3 hours of cardio per week, either steady state or HIIT depending on what muscle group I am training that day (if heavy leg day, steady state and usually only 15 to 20 min). - Goal here is to keep on keeping on and getting excited about anything and everything I can. Find little things I have done better or faster and focus on those instead of finding the negative things to focus on. Rewards: At this point the biggest reward of all will be a better outlook on my health and where I am headed. Still, as a tool for motivation, I will reward myself 25xp if at the end my PT and I determine that I was actively present each and every session. Starting Stats: Weight - 228lbs BF % - 28% (as tested on the TANITA scale at my gym - no guarantees its remotely accurate) Chest - 48" Waist - 49" Hips - 43.5" Thigh (L) - 26.5" Calf (L) - 17" Bicep (L) - 14"
  24. Well this challenge has been a bit of a bust so far.. Some parts of it Im doing well on. And others not so much. I stuck with my weight training plan and have seen some good results with that. Some stuff came up and ive decided to get a personal trainer to help me drop the weight i need to in the time frame i need to do it in. Im happy with where im headed but not happy with how im doing on this challenge. My meal prepping hasnt really happened and my nutrition has gone from bad to worse. I have been doing cardio just not as much as i wanted and savings havent really happened.. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
  25. Week one was good! I hit my fitness goals bang on and then some. I managed to get in 4 30 min cardio sessions, all 4 of my strength days and I didnt eat terribly on my trip. I was exhausted and still managed to make decent food choices. I got home Sunday afternoon after 14hrs of driving and prepped all my lunches for the week. Im finding i am super full after lunch and im not binge eating as much. I was right back into the gym last night and pushed hard for my lifts. I am SO SO CLOSE to 300k lbs lifetime total which is a huge milestone for me. Tonight is back/bis/abs and i am excited! Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk
