  1. Hey, welcome! If you want to have a conversation in German, I am happy to help you Cheers Marc
  2. I've found my original introduction: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/78150-razortide-entered-the-game/
  3. I am also very inactive in the community, but that doesn't keep me from wishing you a very warm welcome :-) I don't do Tae Kwon Do but I can relate that receiving the Black tag is quite an achievement. It sounds like you are already a very active person. I think your battlefield will be the kitchen (which is mine as well), so I believe you should first start tackling your Nutrition and Mindset quests. If you have any questions I am happy to help. I can provide advise in calisthenics but I think your instructor will have them, too :-D Cheers Marc
  4. Hey all! Since my last introduction mysteriously vanished, I just reintroduce myself: I am Marc, I am in my early thirties and I am part of this community since February. I have no pressing issues I need to address right now but quite a few things I want to change. I am practicing German Ju-Jutsu since 2008 and I have earned my 2nd masters degree in it in July. I am also a certified coach in Ju-Jutsu. To further improve my art I've also started training in Kali Silat Evolution, which is also a fun martial art to practice. I am a big believer in calisthenics, though I lack the discipline to keep up a training regime. I am just in a "implement healthy habits" mood, (again) and the reset of the questing system was a pleasant coincidence. If you have any questions regarding Ju-Jutsu I am happy to help. You can also ask me regarding calisthenics and stretching - at least I am educated in those fields Apart from Martial Arts I like Bouldering and I always wanted to take a shot at Parkour. So I would deem myself a Monk-Assassin. My goals so far: I want to lose around 20 pound (or exchange it with muscle) Establish a daily workout routine Increase my flexibility (First goal: http://breakingmuscle.com/video/5-flexibility-standards-you-should-be-able-to-meet-video, Epic goal tbd, high kicks are certainly a part of it) Increase my physical strength using Calisthenics Movements (I am a fan of Ross Enamait, Al Kavadlo and Convict Conditioning), goals tbd Increase my stamina. I am huffing and puffing after a short period of strain which inhibits my ability to perform my art under stress. Goals tbd, but since Martial Arts are often anaerobic, I will work with HIIT stuff to get going. If you want to connect with me, you can reach me in Fitocracy under the same nickname as here :-)
  5. I am just curious. I am wondering what you are paying for your martial arts classes. Today, I am training German Ju-Jutsu and Kali in two different clubs and I pay roughly 250 EUR for the first and 350 EUR for the second (per year). I could additionally train other martial arts like FMA, Jeet Kune Do and BJJ at the second one. I am based in Germany. They offer 2 classes a week. What are you guys paying and what do you receive in return?
  6. Gibts eigentlich noch mehr Rebellen aus Baden-Württemberg? Würde mich über eine PN freuen (und selbstverständlich auch die Kontakte teilen). Viele Grüße Marc
  7. Thank you Tanktimus! That was exatly what I've been searching for!
  8. Maybe I am just blind, but a "Mark all read" Button would be wonderful.
  9. Hey Viking, welcome. To help you with your Meditation: Do you know Headspace? It's a great app which helped me include Meditation into my daily routine. They have kind of a Seinfeld counter, which helped me motivate myself to do it every day :-)
  10. I was refering to answering to a three month old post. I raised the dead, so to speak :-) Congratulations! That is in my opinion one of the greatest things regarding martial arts: You have a goal you can work towards which is reachable in reasonable time. You just go from graduation to graduation, until you are a master :-)
  11. Thanks for the warm welcome :-) I have my first update! After 120 hours of learning I've passed my coach exam (you know, we germans just love bureaucracy), and I am now a licenced Ju-Jutsu coach! I was drawn to Kali through this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o23EJByU-bk It is a coordinative challenge for me and the fighting is very different to Ju-Jutsu. But we can dive into that using any channel you want :-) Just write me a message with Facebook, G+ or Skype and we can start discussing.
  12. Three months is no necromancy yet So? How did your grading went? I hope you still enjoy your training. Have you visited other martial arts yet or just sticking with Aikido for now?
  13. Hey fellow Rebels, I'm Marc, 32, from Germany and really glad to be here After Steve popped up on my radar while promoting his new book, I decided to give it a go. Here is my starting point: I am practising (german) Ju-Jutsu for the better part of a decade. I've earned my black belt two years ago and will take my coach exam this saturday. Keep your fingers crossed :-) I've also started to train Kali Sikaran in the last year and hopefully I am able to take my first exam this year. At the moment I am training two times a week, but to prepare myself for the coming exams I am planning to go to practise three times a week. Apart from Martial Arts I am fascinated by Parkour since I've played Assassin's Creed. I love the way the characters move up and down the city and was really impressed by those awesome Youtube Videos. I've already visited a training group once and trained precision jumps so hard that I was barely able to walk the next day. It was fun though, and I'll definitely will continue to train when the weather becomes warmer again. My newest addition is irregular bouldering. I love using my body and I am a great fan of bodyweight exercises. Therefore, I deem myself a Monk-Assassin. I am influenced by the Convict Conditioning Program by Paul Wade and the outstanding Never Gymless by Ross Enamait. I am a bit overweight and I want to lose around 10% of Body fat (from 22% to 12%) I am currently weighing 170 pounds and would aim for 150, but I would definitely ok with the same amount of muscle :-) Gaming wise, I love to build things. Regardless if its an Assassin's Chapter in Assassin's Creed, a Dynasty in Crusader Kings II or a flourishing trade business in Port Royal II. I even love minecrafty games like Ark: Survival Evolved or Seven Days to Die. I am really looking forward to meet my fellow nerds and to discuss how we can reach our next level :-) Cheers Marc
