  1. I'm no stranger to travel (even if it's only been up and down the east coast) but I'm a total couch-surfing newbie. Does anyone else do it on here? I recently verified myself and was looking to see if there was a profile exchange thread but didn't see anything. Also, any tips or tricks people would like to share would be greatly appreciated!
  2. An update for those interested!: http://freudianweapon.tumblr.com/post/143122205496/first-figure-drawing-class-i-need-to-stop-with
  3. Figure drawing. The one aspect of my work that definitely needs improvement.
  4. I do that as well, I have a small sketchbook I carry with me to work to draw in during my lunch breaks and I have the regular sized one at home. It's funny you should mention the classes, I've actually signed up for one the other day. My first class is tomorrow!
  5. It looks great Major! I'm glad you were able to make the commitment! ---------------------------- freudianweapon.tumblr.com ----------------------------
  6. That's awesome! Keep it up! What kind of deadlines are you setting? Like one piece of artwork a week? I think I might try your 30 min. rule, seems like that could work. (Also, I 'd love to see some of your work!)
  7. Fellow NF artists, especially those with (non-art related) day jobs, how do you make time to practice your art? I've been working full-time for about 2 years now, and I feel my skills as an artist have suffered, or at least haven't improved, since I graduated. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! ---------------------------- freudianweapon.tumblr.com ----------------------------
  8. You're totally right, I can't believe I didn't realize this myself. I'm always quick to fall into that "if only I didn't work at this sh*tty job" mentality. I've had people say things like this to me before, but I guess I needed to hear it from a fellow artist. Thank you The Quest for Questliness! freudianweapon.tumblr.com
  9. That's true, thanks. I haven't had any trouble with getting to the gym lately, I usually just go straight from work regardless of when I get home. I have recently been looking into taking some classes to help hone my art and design skills and was afraid my day job would conflict with it. Because that's what I really want to do with my life, the industry I'm in now is most definitely not for me. I've been thinking of maybe going back to part-time there so that I could focus more on progressing my art, building a portfolio, etc. The Quest for Questliness! freudianweapon.tumblr.com
  10. As my day job, I'm a fire alarm tester. I work around 40 hours a week, sometimes a little more. On paper, our time at job sites is 8 am to 4 pm, sometimes we start earlier. That doesn't take into account for travel time (usually 45 minutes to an hour) and sometimes we finish early or stay later and this depends entirely on the location and how much stuff we have there to test. My question, how am I supposed to plan around my day job if I can't predict what time I'll be home in the evening? How do you do it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Hi there! I'm from New jersey too, down by the shore! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I got a PS4! I think my username on there is the same as it is here. So if anyone wants to kick my ass in Star Wars: Battlefront (Still kind of a noob) feel free to drop me a line. Also have Arkham Knight and Bloodborne as well as a few others. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. (Typed this last night, forgot to post it!) Update Numero Dos! (#2) So the remainder of the work week went rather well as far the quests go. Managed to meditate for ten minutes every morning before I got ready for work, even today! I actually surprised myself with that, despite I'm probably still not that great at it (practice makes perfect I suppose) I'm still able to keep at it even though there's a part of me that feels like I'm not doing it right. what I found to be helpful is that every night before I go to bed I set up the yoga mat right in the middle of my room. So that when I wake
  14. Challenge log Update #1! Monday (2/1/16) went pretty well met all my daily quests. Started with 10 minutes of meditation first thing in the morning when I wake up. I used to think meditation was about kind of tuning out the rest of the world, literally. Trying to tune out everything proved problematic because my ears would pick up on every little sound in the quiet morning, and the walls in my house aren't really soundproof. Luckily, I use the headspace app so it was a little easier knowing I had something to guide me through it. Off to a bit of a shakey start, but I'm sure if I keep at it I'm
  15. Thanks! I was hoping to add more goals like read a book from start to finish or practicing my drawing but I figured I don't want to overdo it the first time around. Sent using Tapatalk
