  1. Awesome to hear that you've got so much going well for you!! Keep up the good work, make sure you're easing into things that you're out of habit on, right? I wish I had *your* problem with breakfast! Man, that sounds great. I'm just trying to grab-and-go veggies smoothies... but failing at that. How much running are you doing? I'm prepping for a half marathon next month, so I'm ears about distance and times and pace! Keep up the good work, Ranger! You are really kicking butt on this! Nobody can do it but you!
  2. Ran a 4.5 in a little under an hour yesterday. It was a short run, but it was there for pace. It was my highest average pace thus far, and a new PB at the 5K. I am absolutely FAILING at Herbology this week. I have NO new veggies smoothies, nor have I started *any* kind of breakfast... Professor Sprout keeps shaking her head at me.
  3. Alright Rangers, reporting in. Distance run last night was 10.1 miles. In about 2:15. It was supposed to have been 10.5, but my SO called and said that I needed to take a shorter route to get home, so I did. It was also Mardi Gras, so some roads were closed for parades. I actually took a turn down one, well before parade time, but the barricades were already going up. I couldn't have run down the sidewalks because of the crowd, and the police officer just motioned for me to stay on the main street. It was really something, 'cause there were tons of people, all waiting for a parade, and here I come running through. Weight Training is a *bit* behind schedule, but still off to a decent start. Monitoring fluid intake has been GREAT. Definitely full marks there. One coffee in the AM, one coke at lunch, and a cocktail in the evening. Pretty much water at all other times. Did pretty good on my Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Meditating is pretty new to me, and I had an app that i was using to guide my process... but I have to admit that I *did* fall asleep once...
  4. Hey hey! How's your first week been?!
  5. Alright, so. I just did 6 miles. Average pace was about 13:59, took 1:28:09. Not a great pace, but today was more of an endurance run. Going out for a 4.5 mile speed run tomorrow morning!
  6. Alright, just putting in an update: I am behind. Only two full days in, but weather has kept me off the streets! However; I have gotten a workout in, so I'm sitting well on strength, but behind on speed. Hydration-wise, I am right on track, I'm proud to say, as well as focusing on music each day. So wow, I'm not so bad as I expected, all things considered! Rock and Roll, Rangers!
  7. RollerDerby? Hells yeah! That is awesome. I go and watch the ladies at our local rink from time to time, and it's always a GREAT time! If I was trying to cram things in before a big trip, I'd be losing my mind, good for you for setting tough goals and digging into them! I'm also digging on how you made your to-do list part of your goals, what a way to keep your progress out in the open! Rock and Roll, Ranger!
  8. These are great goals. Very strong stuff, good for you. I know what you're saying about Paleo. I love what it does, but man, it can be tough to manage. Finding what works 'for you' can often be the toughest part! You got this, and welcome to the Rangers! We're glad to have you!
  9. This looks awesome. I am jealous of your theme... great goals. Following you!
  10. This is awesome. I like the Explorer/Ranger multi-class, it seems like a great fit! And what a kicking way to get settled into a place for 1 whole month (wow) by dedicating those weeks to getting things back on track. Good for you. Great goals, I share some of them myself! It's gonna be a great month for Rangers all around. Training dolphins? Really? You might be the coolest person that I know... for the NAVY, even! What does the Navy do with dolphins?!
  11. Nice! Good plans, man! Those are some serious goals, but you got this. But yeah... we're going to need to see pics of the cat...
  12. THE CHARACTER SHEET Character Name: Witterquick Race (if not human): Human Hogwarts House or School of Origin: Gryfindor beat Ravenclaw by 3% Wand description: Teak with Dragon Heartstring Core Patronus: Ape Classes that I've signed up for: 1. Defense Against the Dark Arts: It's time for a bit of focused thought, and a quiet moment 15 minutes of mediation each day. 2.Transfiguration: Adding additional stretches into my training work. 3. Herbology: Time to start looking at better for me breakfasts, including vegetable smoothies and the like. 4. Charms: Setting and clearing trapped doors. Domestic Rangering. I have a couple of doors (and a cabinet, now that I think about it,) that simply won't stay closed. It's time to 'Repairum' those things! Not the toughest courses, but things I need to get onto!
  13. Alright Rangers, It's good to be back in action. Trying to make some good starts for the new year, I was sad to miss the first challenge of the year, glad that I saw this one in time to join the fray. I used to run 5k's from time to time, but got far too sedentary when I got a new administration job about eight months back. Jan 2nd, a friend of mine convinced me to run a half marathon with her in early April. So, no excuses. It's time to get serious. 1st Goal: Every week I will increase my distance by 1 mile. I'm at 9.5 as my longest run. 2nd Goal: I will get bodyweight work back into my week. At least three times per week. 3rd Goal: I will only drink one coke and coffee per day, and increase my water intake. 4th Goal: Each day, I will spend 30 minutes, if not more, focusing on something other than work or exercise. I'll read a book that I've never read, focus on learning a language, and/or play music. These are things that I have let slide out of my day-to-day over the past eight months, or are going to be vital for my upcoming race! Let's roll, rangers! "Act boldly, and unseen forces will come to your aid."
