  1. So, let myself down a little bit on this last week. Fitness Goal: workout at least twice a week. --I didn't workout at all this week. No real excuses. Just dropped the ball. Not the best way to end my first challenge. Diet Goals: --I did however nail my goal on snacking less. I guess to make up for the lack of movement I did this week. LUYL Goal: --I had one cigarette this week!!!! Woohoo! OVERALL CHALLENGE SCORE: Fitness: C -First two weeks were perfect, slipped up a bit on the third week, and forth week was a failure. Diet: A -had a couple indulgences but overall I really watched what I was snacking on and cut down the snacking portions by more than half! LYUL: A -went from a cigarette every night before bed to 3 or less a week. A couple of hits here and there but overall I felt really good about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Slow. Went rock climbing again Friday. It was great. Didn't do my workout yesterday. :/ but I can't let that get me down. Ate like a monster yesterday too. I need to really tighten it down the rest of the week. Started reading convict conditioning. Planning on starting that next month. Anyone have any advice on that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Week 2Update: FITNESS: Monday and Wednesday was tough. But I figured out what I need to improve on Friday. I decided to go through the workout at a much slower cadence and really feel the workouts. It allowed me to focus more on my breathing as well. I didn't run Tuesday because it was so cold. Which isn't the best excuse. But I got out there Thursday and increased the speed of my walk/run intervals as well as added an extra 5 mins to it. I will continue this for this coming week. DIET: My snacking has gotten much better. I'm not too worried about it anymore. I'm cutting down portions and/or having healthier options. LUYL: I had a total of maybe 2 cigarettes last week. 2/3 of one one night. And only a couple of hits every other day from my wife's. But, I'm hoping I can make it more than 3 days in a row without any this week! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Awesome! Thanks for the advice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. So, I started doing the NF beginner Bodyweight Circuit at the beginning of Feb. I do it 3 days a week, and 2 times through. I tried to bump it up to 3 rounds this week and made it through, but I was so out of breath I thought I was going to pass out. (I'm also doing some light interval training on the treadmill twice a week for 20mins) My new goal is to get my lungs stronger, trim some fat, and then build some muscle. In that order. I read and read and read articles online and they're all giving me different answers and I just do know what to do. So, I'm trying to figure out what workout makes the most sense for me (right now) to start working for effectively towards my goal. I also don't really know what my dieting should look like. I'm eating all whole foods and healthy meals but I don't know if I'm getting enough calories, or too many calories, or if I'm not getting enough protein. I'm 24 years old. Vegetarian (I eat dairy and eggs). 5ft 9in. Currently 176lbs. Any advice would be amazing. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. One of my favorite healthy cookbooks that I own is The Happy Pear cookbook. All veggie and really easy and tasty. They also have excellent YouTube videos. Also, their charisma is over 9000. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Update: This week has been a little bit tougher. It's been cold and snowy in Louisville. I knocked out Monday's workout. Tuesday, didn't get out and run (it was so cold). Wednesday, only got 2 rounds through my workout. I was having issues breathing, my lungs aren't what they use to be. I have a new goal of strengthening my lungs, I feel like I won't be able to achieve my other goals until I can go through my workouts without feeling like I'm going to pass out. That being said, I'm not giving up. I'm just going to have to move at a slower pace than I had originally thought. I haven't had any cigarettes this week! That should help with the ol' lungs. Snacking has gotten a lot better. I have replaced some of my late night staples for what I'd call healthier options. Instead of a pb&j I've had a pappadam with cottage cheese and a little mango chutney (so good). And instead of a big bowl of cereal, a smaller bowl of cereal (I bought Puffins, they seemed like a much better option). So, even though I don't feel as great as I did last week, I working on it. 8. Really nice! I bumped up my workout on Monday to 3 rounds through the circuit. I was definitely feeling it. I've been really busy today so I haven't gotten around to do my intervals but the day isn't over yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I definitely will have to check it out! Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Beep, if you haven't read Wool by Hugh Howie, I highly recommend it. To everyone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. End of Week 1: A quarter of the way through my first challenge and it's going amazingly! I gave myself some wiggle room on my goals for my first challenge so I wouldn't overwhelm myself like i have done in the past. Mon-Wed-Fri I knocked out preformed 2 circuits of the NF beginner Bodyweight workout. Next week I'll be doing 3 circuits! Tues and Thur I did some light interval training for 15 minutes. This coming week I'll be bumping it up to 20 minutes! Saturday I went rock climbing with a buddy for an hour at a bouldering gym and LOVED IT! Definitely going to be going that multiple times a month. And next week I'm going on a long bike ride with another friend of mine! I had a few snack attacks this week but I was able to cut back on portioning and consciously watch what I was eating. And I only had 3 cigarettes! That's loads better than the 10 or so I have a week. I'm staying motivated. I'm feeling empowered. And I don't want to stop. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Haha. I figured. Strength. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. So as of right now I've been doing the NF Beginner Bodyweight Circuit with slight modifications. 20 squats 10 pushups 20 lunges (10 each) 15 dumbbell rows (each arm) 15 sec plank 30 jumping jacks (2x) 3x a week This was my first week. I started off off this way so I wouldn't over do it and get in the habit of working out consistently. Next week my plan was to go through 3 times a session. Is this the best way to progress or/and what is some advice for raising the bar for future sessions? (More reps? Different variants? More passes through the circuit?) Thanks for any advice you may have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. So, my wife and I are looking for more games to play together. We own a PS3 and loving playing RPGs. What are some great co-op RPG games that we can play together? She loves games like Castle Crashers, Skyrim, and Diablo 3. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Perfect! Thank you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Awesome! Thank you for the welcome. Its great to be here. The Assassins Guild definitely seems right up my alley! Also, is there a "walk through" for creating a character sheet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Dancezwithkittehz, Yeah I use to climb when I was a lot younger and then I just stopped. It'll be nice to get up on the wall again! I highly recommend it. It's a good full body exercise. And it's also 50% mental, too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Thanks Toshimi! I'm feeling really positive about this week overall! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Update #2 Fitness: staying on top of my workouts still! -Thursday- 15 mins of light interval training. -Friday/today- 2x through NF body weight circuit. -Going rock climbing tomorrow at a bouldering gym. -Sunday is stretch and rest day. Diet: Last night I had some friends over and I did snack a bit. But went for an apple and a bowl of pop corn. Better than cookies and ice cream! Level Up Your Life: -I had half a cigarette last night. We were sitting around a fire outside and it was too tempting. But only had half which is better than a whole one. Next week I'm going to add another round to the body weight circuit and add 5 more minutes to my interval running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Thanks Revan for checking out the band! It really does mean a lot to me. Yeah, I'm starting really slow. I've burnt out multiple times by just jumping in 100% from the start. Trying to pick back up where I left off, leading to a rather quick failure. My goal is to stay consistent with my training (so far so good) and gradually increase the number of reps or intervals or increasing the amount of time I spend a day working at it. And thanks for the welcome! :] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Update #1 Diet: Starting out strong. -I have only had one weakness for something sweet. (Feb 1st wife brought icecream home. It was mint chip, my favorite.) Haven't had any other snack attacks so far. Feeling really confident! Fitness: I've been staying on top of my workouts. -Monday- 2x NF bodyweight circuit. -Tuesday- 15 mins of light interval training. -Wednesday/today- 2x NF body weight circuit. Planning on doing some more light interval training tomorrow. And friday, going through the Bodyweight circuit 2x -Scheduled to go rock climbing with my friend at a climbing gym this saturday. I'm really looking forward to it, I used to climb all the time when I was a kid. Level Up Your Life: -I've only had one cigarette so far this week (monday). I usually always have one a day before I go to bed. I laid awake in bed for awhile craving one but I powered through!
  24. Thanks Shen! I posted my first challenge. A couple days behind but I went with what I was already working on! As for the nerdy stuff... My first RPG was Breathe of Fire for SNES. I remember loving it so much but could never get past a certain point so I would always just start a new file. Repeat. This started my love for turn based JRPGs. Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon, Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, and the list goes on. I use to play a lot of others like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Skyrim, Fallout 3, the Tales series, Ni no Kuni, Diablo 3. Recently started playing DnD 5e with a could of friends. I'm really enjoying that. The list of sci fi flicks is way longer. I don't even know where to start there. Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. So this is my first challenge! However I did actually get the drop on it February 1st.
