Help with setting up a bodyweight workout routine
Bodyweight Meister replied to ExpectJade's topic in Strength Training!
What are your main goals? Are you looking to master certain exercises or just go for bodyweight training in general like push ups etc. If you want to work your way towards handstand pushups and stuff like that you should train in a different manner. So it is beneficial to set a goal for yourself. -
My current routine, suggestions welcome

That's great, though if you want to lose weight you might want to focus on keeping your strength as much as possible and go a bit less hard on the intensity. If you have an intense workout your hunger increases a lot. But you are not burning that much calories. I recommend walking for optimal results. If you walk for 30-45 minutes you burn like 200-300 additional calories without increasing your hunger. That is what you want. -
Would like advice on current routine.

If you want to gain strength try to focus on harder exercises. Don't go that high in reps. Right now you are focussing on endurance. Like jfreaksho said. Perhaps go to elevated feet push ups. For shoulder move towards the handstand push ups. Check out some more advanced movements and go for about 4-6 reps in the beginning of your training after a good warm up. That way you train strength on a proper manner, 'injury proof' -
Tracking Progress! Tips?

If you want to use an app you can use JeFit. Though I recommend just keep it in your phone. That way you always carry it with you and it's easy to write down and edit it in your notes. -
Hundred is my favourite number.

What's your main goal? To me this is not the smartest thing you could do. If you want to gain strength, you are not training right. If you want to gain muscle mass, you are not training right. If you want to lose fat, you are not training right once again. At least, not the most efficient way by far. Such high repetitions you train endurance/coordination. And next to that because of the high intensity you will significantly increase your hunger, though the calories you burn relative to that are not worth it. -
