  1. It is amazing how January 4 turns into January 14 and you forget to do the little things. Current update. I still don't have my eating under control. I do however have my gym regimen under control. I'm hitting the weights every other day and doing something on the days off. These last few days have been stressful while I prepped for an interview at Netflix today. More on this tomorrow!
  2. January 4th update Got a 5k in on the treadmill tonight. Left my headphones at home so that sucked. Otherwise, the run felt good. I only had 1 coffee today! The entire day! No breakfast as I continue the intermittent fasting. Today was day 3. I might eat breakfast on the weekends. Does anyone else do that? Lunch today consisted of beef, rice, beans, salad and grapes. I had mixed nuts for a snack followed by 4 chocolate almonds. I also had a muscle milk. Not sure if those were the best choices. Dinner tonight was a Chipotle salad bowl. No rice. Beans, peppers, onions, mild salsa, corn and guac. Not bad, right? I also knocked out some more push ups today using the 6 weeks app. I'm enjoying that program so far.
  3. January 3rd update. Remembering to update this is hard. I have to figure something out. I knocked out gym workout 5A tonight. It is my last week on level 5 before I go for the boss battle. No running today. I have that planned for tomorrow night on the treadmill. Eating was solid today. Protein, vegetables and limited carbs. I had two 2 decaf coffees both with milk. In the afternoon, I switched to tea!
  4. January 2nd update. I managed to make it through the morning without breakfast. I had a half of a decaf iced americano. After a while, I just didn't want it anymore because of the taste. Coffee is a huge problem for me. I like it milky and sweet. I ran a 5k on the treadmill after work and crushed some push ups after that. Tomorrow I start my last week of gym level 5 before I fight the boss. If anyone wants to connect on Garmin or follow progress let's do it. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/profile/npmsax I run with a garmin forerunner 235, Jaybird X3's and Asics Gel Nimbus 20's. I also built a fresh set of goals for my epic quest. Check it out. https://www.nerdfitness.com/character/58220
  5. What do you mean a bunch of challenge options?
  6. I'm new to these 4 week challenges. I don't know when the next one starts. I thought I would set one up before the new year. Who wants to join me? LEVEL 1 REBEL CHALLENGE: Diet 64oz of water a day Eat a vegetable with one meal every day Eat 3 servings of protein a day. Substitute one sugary coffee drink per day for black coffee or tea. Fitness Crush BARBELLATRIX THE STRANGE! Begin Gym level 6 Run 3 days a week. Level Up Your Life (Pick One) Put $5 in a jar if I hit the gym 3 days in a week. (Saving for the eventual Jaybird Run 2) Put $5 in a jar if I meet all diet goals in a week. ^^ 10 minutes meditation daily Reduce caffeine consumption by 50%
  7. I just bought a fitbook (https://www.getfitbook.com/products/fitbook). Is anyone using these to keep them organized day-to-day? I'm interesting in see how others have used it.
  8. Hi LL, I actually just ran the NYC Marathon this year. It was my first marathon ever and I'm so glad I did it. I recommend following one of the hal higdon plans. I followed http://www.halhigdon.com/training/51137/Marathon-Novice-1-Training-Program. Now for a few modifications. For starters, I did two a days while training. I was running before work and then weight lifting at night. One thing to keep in mind is that you MUST cross train. Your entire body is going to need it. Also, be VERY congnizant of what you are eating when you train. Just because you run 20 miles, doesn't mean you throw it away with crap. I would not train for 12 weeks personally. The plans call for 16 weeks but I would actually push it to 20 next time. Hope this is helpful. Happy to talk more if you need. Thanks!
  9. Rebels, My name is Noah and I am new to the forums. I have been a member of NF for a month now and have learned a lot. I live in the south bay of San Francisco and am looking to meet people who need to lose weight like I do. Just wanted to say hi and it's nice to meet you all. N
  10. I'm in San Carlos. Are there any meet-ups planned?
