  1. Weekends.. Oh how they offer so much potential yet too much time to get nothing done. Didn't get much done this weekend. Too much rain to get outside too much time too get things done. Basically I kept putting things off and not getting them done. The rain left my son and I locked inside. He loved it because he watch movie after movie and much on some popcorn. I on the other hand was boarded and over ate. But I did set myself up for a good week. Went grouchy shopping and was able to prep lunch and dinner for today and breakfast for tomorrow. I will say the lazy weekend was probably a good thing. between soccer, softball, work, lunch time workouts and the gym I've been pushing it hard and the injuries are starting to mount. So giving my body two days to relax and recover was probably what it needed.
  2. I had a solid first work week for the challenge. I ate smart at lunch each day and even when I went out to lunch with old co-workers I ate smart opting for fish over a burger and a side salad no dressing over fries. I was able to go to the park for out of 5 days for a small workout. Hoping to hit 5 out of 5 next week. I even went today even tho it was raining. Like a true ranger I planned ahead. I brought an old yoga mat and did the workout under the shade cover. I wasn't able to get a chance to play the violin this week but will work on making sure I have time next week. This week I just worked to many hours (I prioritized work over violin) and made sure I hit the gym each night I wasn't playing a sport. But I did get some solid time in on getting my site up and running and should soon be ready to go. I will be picking up my Compound bow tomorrow than heading out for a small hike with my son (if weather lets us), Picked him up a nice small camel-pack so he can drink as he pleases. But I know the true test before me is this weekend. I have my son, weather says lots of rain and not busy with work could lead to a lot of eating because I'm board. Working on a few activities that will keep my son and myself busy and have lots of fun.
  3. Yesterday was a rough day with eating Healthy. DO to getting home after 11 on Monday I didn't prep a dinner or lunch for Tuesday, And it showed in what I ate. But liker any boss fight I will learn. I know now that on Sundays I need to prep food for Monday Tuesday and Wednesday due to getting home late on Mondays and Tuesdays. Good news tho even with the bad snacking and bad diner yesterday, the lunch time workout and soccer are really helping to make sure I don't slide backwards and help keep me on the right track. Can't wait to relax tonight after work with some web design and some really bad Violin
  4. As I reflect on the past couple years I cant help but compare my journey that I am on now to that of my favorite fantasy character Drizzt Do'urden. Right now like Drizzt I have just left the darkness of the Underdark and at the beginning of a life filled with adventure. For this 4 week challenge I am tackling a few challenges. Main Quest Get ready for Though Mudder in Tahoe 6/11 Challenge One To be able to move like Drizzt I need to take better care of myself. I need to eat better. To do this I need to take time each night to prep the next days lunch and if I am going to work late dinner. I also need to keep my snacks healthy and light. I also want to eat an apple a day, Challenge Two Once a week I want to surround myself with nature and go on a hike. If I have my son I nice short hike. If I don't have him I want to challenge myself to beat the time of my last hike on the same trail. Challenge Three With hiking, soccer and softball getting time for cardio is easy but I need to also work on my strength, I want to do a small 30 minute strength training at lunch 4 out of 5 day and 3 times a week at the gym. Challenge Four A couple years ago I had a compound bow and loved it. But I was hit with some hard times and had to sell it. I want to make up my mind this week on compound vs recurve and than go shooting once a week. Challenge Five Last week I took the first steps in learning how to play the violin, I bought a basic starter set and a learn to play book. Now I need to dedicate some time to learning I want to practice 3 days a week for 15 minutes. Challenge Six I want to spend 15 minutes a night working on the domain I bought that I want to use to document my adventures that are ahead of me.
  5. So I have gotten into the routine of doing 2 days body work out and 3 days cardio with the seventh being a lite work out of both. Well one of my cardio days is soccer with my company team. Well Tuesday I got my foot take n out from under me and can't do my normal cardio. Anyone know any solid cardio that can be done on one leg?
  6. Unfortunately I grabbed the book and found the forums more that half way into this months challenge. But I guess this mini quest get me ready for next months quest. Diet Continue to drink water instead of soda Continue to cook dinner each night and prep the next days breakfast and Lunch Fitness Go to the gym on at least once each weekend. Level Up your Life Read at least 3 chapters a day during the week( 1 chapter of Power Shell and 2 chapters of Level up your life)
