  1. It's still last week.......... right?? Well anyways. here's the low down. water - good walking - good kung fu - good strength training - good! I splurged on the TRX program and am doing the pull up module making the rounds - hit and miss meditation - I TOTALLY FORGOT 😨oops additional news. I pulled the trigger on something I've been planning for a while - becoming an officially certified Intuitive Eating coach! I get to work with the creators and everything. Much excite. It's something I really believe in and have been dreaming about doing for awhile. Also I'm... kind of making art again? I haven't had much of a practice in years, but someone passed on some calls for art having to do with quarantine, and, well, I've been making masks like crazy and well, I'm making art about masks I guess? Art masks? Photographs of them in installation? I dunno. In any case it feels good to have a creative outlet that feels like I actually have something to say. Es nice
  2. YAYYY I like seeing it too Despite all the busy-ness it sounds like you're really taking the time to pay attention to your needs and start finding strategies to helping you honor them! Good on you!!
  3. HAHAHA yus do it! That thing looks baddaaaassssss. I love my suspension trainer, but could benefit from having a program to follow I think!
  4. OK, last week was a half win, which I'll take considering the anxiety I was grappling with. Lots of walking, great water, meditation and Kung Fu, all in the bag. Starting to make my rounds on the forums. I'm still missing a good strength routine, though I did do epic amounts of gardening... but it's not the same. I'm thinking about investing a the TRX program - something about paying for stuff makes it that much more accountable amirite?
  5. I totally had a dream that you called me and was like, oh, they don't fit right 😑but I totally totally got my situation under control now. Boundaries, yes, last of the custom orders, done, and I found myself going down yesterday to sew to relax and ended up finishing almost 50 masks for stock! (AND we got Red Pepper Diner last night - basically the closest we have to Thai food!!!!) I even have inspiration for a new art project about our experiences
  6. Hey there! Welcome back welcome back Sounds like you're being super level headed about not over doing out of the gate! That's awesome. Burnout is real. This is 100% the first thing I was going to suggest in response to your mindfulness question. Mindfullness is just another muscle we learn to flex, and nothing does it quite like repetition.... but.... remembering to do it until it becomes habit is tough! I'm a huge fan of notifications, for all different things! Setting a timer, alarm, notification, SOMETHING you will absolutely notice to remind you to do a thing is so useful, even if you don't act on it the first few times, the reminder seeps in there. 10/10 love! Wasn't even going to bring it up, but I'm also a huge fan of journalling. It sounds like you're on a strong path for all the things you've outlined! Considering your concern about falling off in a few weeks, may I suggest a timer? 😂But totes for reals, like, a reminder in two weeks that can help you return to this motivated place?
  7. HAHAHAHA I do this constantly!!! I've been doing "once around the block" lately as well! It started as a low thresh hold - "all you have to do is ONCE around the block"... but it's really quite lovely! I like that it's not a huge time commitment, and wow does it clear my head. I really like Once Around The Block I think it has a lot of value! Those are some serious wins there! KUDOS it me also >.>
  8. LOL I have the same thing. How are you doing your walking? Where do you like to go?
  9. Interesting! Definetly not something I think about, but that makes sense and I'm interested in knowing more! I hope so! It's one of those things that I've had in my pocket for decades, but I dunno, when does it ever come up that someone wants to hit those octaves? 😂but I do hope it helps! What made you want to start? What kind of stuff are you playing?
  10. Mr Red is busy busy today so I did it myself - it's kind of off to the side so you can see, but you can do these just relaxed in front of you. One of my piano teachers had me do these a lot. Just be careful and don't put too much pressure! GL
  11. I have some stretches that one of my piano teachers gave me a million years ago, I've been playing a long time. I don't think it makes sense to try to describe it, so I'll recruit Mr Red to help me shoot a video (since it requires two hands lol) and link you! Very cool you're giving it a go
  12. LOL yeah for sure! Yeah, it's just a residual professional ptsd from my fashion days. I only have a few small local orders left and the rest is going to the etsy - which of course I have to finish setting up before I can direct people to it, but I've pulled the breaks. Anyone that reached out to me since the weekend has been told to hold tight for the etsy page and that's just what it's going to have to be!
  13. How exciting!!! :DDDD Oh ho ho do I know those feels lol
  14. oh, I just mean... our guild lol ALL the rebels would be a tall order indeed!
  15. I have a regular home routine - I was working out of the house in the "before" as well, so it isn't really all that different, except suddenly I'm also running a sewing shop? There's an hour of Stardew Valley (or whatever I'm currently playing) every morning over coffee, then off to the races. I'm doing well to take a lunch breaks with Mr Red assuming neither of us have anything, and to more or less get done in time time make dinner together. More than anything I feel pulled thin by people. I think the biggest issue in the last week is that I put out this casual and general offer to make these masks for friends locally on FB, but now I'm inundated with private messages, trying to get people's preferences and addresses and all this stuff at all hours of the day and night. Last week it was absolute chaos as I didn't have any organization in place, DMing back and forth with people on which details they want, sorry I don't have any more of that fabric, and what's your address?? I was able to recruit Mr Red and we sat down and took it apart from a production POV (I grew up in a clothing company so it's not unfamiliar) and this week has been more manageable and productive, but I still feel like I spend the bulk of my time at the sewing machine and other things are taking a back seat. It's a manic, almost compulsive need to GET IT ALL DONE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, and I know that feeling from working in my parent's company. It's everything I didn't want in my own business. Do TLDR, I'm starting an etsy with pieces already done - so that way I can focus on making them for fun, even some more complicated art pieces, and simply offer what I have rather than the hustle of making custom things on demand. I'm almost done with my current orders, and smart RedStone piggy backed cute things so she would have stock to work from after. Finally - the crew I'm going to call the entrepreneurs. People I do co-works with, giving or getting coaching, or just randoms from some distance part of my life looking for a long phone call to get direction and advise on what to do next. The immediacy of the media makes it hard to ignore, but I'm getting better at punting things into the near future at an appropriate time - like, just because Sue from the old gym wants advise on how to study for her next cert and hits me up on a Sunday afternoon, doesn't mean I have to drop everything and talk her through it then and there. I can make a time with her later in the week and that will just have to do.
  16. HIIIII GUUUUUYS! Well, things escalated quickly but I think they've calmed down some, I hope. TLDR I've been making masks to donate, then I started making masks for friends. Then friends of friends started asking. Then a wedding party wanted something special for their secluded family only in the woods event. It seems I've started a business, I do not think I meant to. I run a business already, it is a lot of work. So that's what's been going on. Let's talk about this week, WATER Monday - no Tuesday - yes MOVEMENT Kung Fu on Tuesday Long walk with hubs on Tuesday (oops I was late for D&D!!!!) MEDITATE Yes on Monday CONNECT Ok ok working on it. _____ Tomorrow I'm going to make sweet potato gnocchi and see if I can maybe get some sage for the sauce I was going to do it today but I messed up the timing and forgot we're doing D&D on Tuesdays and I wouldn't have enjoyed either if I tried to do both. So I'm doing it tomorrow so it will be more fun, and I played D&D tonight and it was more fun. I feel stretched thin with my attention. Co work calls end up being coaching calls. People are coming out of the wood work to get advise, which means time spent, and it's never just 20 minutes. Mr Red demands a lot of my attention, which I'm used to... sort of... but not on this level. I'm tired and feel like my head is spinning a lot. Medtating yesterday really helped and I know better movement practices will help me get out of my head also.
  17. aw man, aight I'm in for this! Any recommendations on how to start learning??
  18. Good on you for taking the time to do what you needed to do. Grief takes many shapes but giving yourself the space to allow for it is so key. My best to you ❤️
  19. Haha hey hey ya'll! It's funny because I've been looking forward to some challenge structure, I'm glad to heave the last round/month of my life behind me. I'm in a much different place than I was and ready to ROCK. And I love zero week. So I kinda dropped the hammer there, but at least it wasn't the 2 hatchets I dropped through the glass patio table when we first moved to the mountains. I replaced it first with wood, and now a nice stone slab I found on the property that happens to be the right size. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
  20. I know those feels lol Glad you found a class! oooo what is this now?
  21. HAHAHA Hey hey!! I totally spaced on the date, I thought we start again next week! WHOOPS! SO GLAD TO SEE YOUUUUUUUUU
  22. Hey all, I'm RedStone, your friendly neighborhood Spiderman Fangirl Rebel GL. I totally spaced on the date this challenge because time is rubber band man, except in Stardew Valley which is basically where I live, like, all the time. Also, I think you're cool.
