  1. Happy to report in that i got my 14:30 mile done today! Super happy about that (Playing tag with a bunch of kids and getting super winded on Saturday was great motivation lol). No progress on my weight training but i think ive realized that it isn't my muscles that can't handle it, its my hands/wrists which is super frustrating wall to have to break through. I ordered some workout gloves with wrist support to hopefully help with that I made White hot chocolate for myself and family for the first time yesterday and it was AWESOME (Not fitness related.....just awesome lol). Going to work to stabilize my 14:30 mile for the rest of the month!
  2. Happy July everyone! This month my primary focus is going to be on my upper body. I've started going to Parkour classes and my body is no where near ready for it so here is my focus: Assisted Chin up - Get to 3x Sets of 15 with 170lbs of support Shoulder Press - 3x Sets of 50lbs Chest Press - 3x Sets of 50lbs I am also going to be striving to get my mile time down to 14:30!
  3. This month went well! I got to a 15 minute mile (way surpassed my goal!) and my Chicken Noodle soup was AWESOME!. I also made a ton of progress on weights! Below are my current numbers! Rotary Calf - 130lbs Seated Biceps Curl - 50lbs Abdominal Crunches - 120lbs Hib Abduction - 150lbs Flat Triceps Extension - 60lbs Chest Press - 50lbs Shoulder Press - 40lbs Back Extension - 190lbs Seated Leg Curl - 70lbs Assisted Dip/Chin - 180lbs assist weight Tricep push Down - 100lbs Leg Extension - 40lbs Lateral Arm Raise - 50lbs Vertical Row - 60lbs Standing Calf Raises - 110lbs Looking forward to pushing forward with this in July!
  4. Late update! Had Monday off which messed with my routine! Bing! Level up! Bicep Curl 50 -> 60 Hip Abduction 150 -> 160 Abdonminal Crunches 100 -> 130 Tricep Push Down 90 -> 100 I also pushed my mile time down to 15:00! I do think i am hitting my hard limits on weights at this point, i expect my progress will be slower from here on out on that front. Looking forward to it! Plan on trying some chicken noodle soup in the slow cooker this week. Also may start making my Pasta Bake again (Not healthy, but damn good and lots of leftovers!)
  5. Well i am a huge fan of beef, no doubts there, but i want more ideas than just Pot Roast. I would be up to trying most things. The only thing i really don't want to use much of is red and green peppers (Not a fan of the flavor). Spicy, Onions, Rich, Stew, Soup, all sound good!
  6. Update Time! First the Bad news BZZZZT! Penalty! Bad Form! Level Down! Vertical Row 80lbs --> 60lbs Now for the good news! BING! Level Up Back Extension 140 --> 170 Triceps Push Down 80lbs --> 90lbs Abdominal Crunches 90lbs --> 100lbs New Skill! Leg Press - 120lbs And for my most exciting news.... I ran a mile today in 15:35! i beat my 17 minute record early and by more than a minute! Super excited about this! Still not eating great but still working on it. Who has some good slow cooker recipes that are fairly easy to throw together in the morning before work?
  7. Update Time! Made some progress this week! According to Memrise i have now mastered over 100 Spanish words (yay!) I also bumped up some of my weight numbers: BING! Level Up! Hip Abduction - 110 -> 150 Tricep Push Down 70 -> 80 Back Extension 130 -> 140 Abdominal Crunches 80 -> 90 Eliptical Trainer average BPM over 20 min - 152 -> 156 Really happy with my progress this week! The Hip Abduction was actually a mistake, i didn't mean to jump up 40lbs but hey, now that i did it ill stick to it lol
  8. Not really, my focus is on feeling healthier overall so my goals primarily revolve around cardio as i feel my lack of cardio fitness keeps me from doing things far more than my strength does. Just mainly adding in weights because it's fun and feels good =p
  9. Hey! I'm starting a new post in a new challenge topic! Look at me, learning and stuff lol Here is my current progress on weights: 80lbs Vertical Row 120lbs Back Extension 40lbs Shoulder Press 60lbs Seated Leg Curl 110lbs Hip Abduction 50lbs Flat Tricep Extension 70lbs Abdonminal Crunches 50lbs Bicep Curl 50lbs Chest Press 110lbs Calf Raises For cardio, i can currently do a mile in about 20 minutes, my goal for June is to try to get to a 17 minute mile. I will also be progressing on wieghts using my standard 15-15-15 system. Also trying many new things in my life and still working on Spanish for 10-20 minutes a day. Looking forward to it!
  10. Another solid week but i was only able to go work out twice last week (Busy Memorial day and work got in the way on Friday). VR games help me keep active on the off days though! Going into June with plenty of confidence and looking forward to it! As of now i am at: 80lbs Vertical Row 120lbs Back Extension 40lbs Shoulder Press 60lbs Seated Leg Curl 110lbs Hip Abduction 50lbs Flat Tricep Extension 70lbs Abdonminal Crunches 50lbs Bicep Curl 50lbs Chest Press 110lbs Calf Raises All at least sets of 15, 10, 7 (Most closers to 15,13,10) I am also able to comfortably do the 20 minutes at 3.6 now, look to keep that up this month!
  11. This will be my last post in this topic since i now realize i should have been creating new posts every month xD. I have done a full 20 minutes at 3.6 on the treadmill, my goal is to be able to jog a full mile by the end of June. Up to 70lbs on my Ab Crunches and 50lbs on my bicep curls. Started doing some bowling on the weekends ($32 for 3 games a day all summer long deal? What?) which is getting me some exercise on my "off" days. Also started playing Holopoint on the HTC vive which is intense. Great Cardio there. Keeping it rolling!
  12. Last week was a bit rough. I did fine up until Thursday but then i got my HTC Vive and well.....that burns some calories! lol I also had to deal with some family drama over the weekend which caused me to stress eat (big problem for me) so overall last week was ok. While i didn't get to the gym Thursday - Saturday i probably spent a solid 8 hours over those days playing VR games which require a good amount of movement so hopefully it ended in a bit of a wash. Still progressing well with my Spanish practice and looking forward to the gym today so here is for continuing to move forward. I also have records of the weights i am doing on my weight training: Seated Row - 55lbs, Set of 15, 10, 7 Chest Press - 55lbs Set of 15, 15, 12 (Almost ready to move up on this one) Standing Calf Raises - 110lbs Set of 15, 10, 7 Seated Leg Curl - 55lbs Set of 15, 10, 7 Abdonminal Crunches - 60lbs Set of 15, 10, 7 Hip Abduction - 100lbs - 3 Sets of 15 (Plan to try 110 today!) Seated Biceps Curl - 40lbs - Set of 15, 10, 7 Seated lat two arm pulldown - 90lbs Set of 15, 10, 7 I also set a new record for myself by maintaining 150 bpm heart rate for 15 minutes on the treadmill. Here is to steady progress.
  13. I went to the gym every weekday last week and am really enjoying it! I have a personal training session on Thursday which killed my thighs so i had to take it easy over the weekend but so far very happy with my progress. At this point i have found the workouts i like, now i am just figuring out my current weight limits on the machines. I have also dropped 7 pounds in the last month!
  14. Tuesday I joined a local gym and convinced my work to let me take 1.5 hour lunches by coming in early. I am now going to the gym daily doing cardio and more varied weight lifting. Definitely liking the new direction my life is taking so far!
  15. Another Check in! This weekend i did and nice 1.5 mile walk and then i tried to do the same thing on Sunday and my legs wouldn't have it (got about .75 miles). Ingress is a nice motivator for walking for me. I quite enjoy it. Meals went well, i went a bit overboard with pizza on Friday but otherwise i am on track. Going well so far!
