  1. @Rookie, thank you! I hope your challenge is starting well too! I'm actually pretty excited for myself. I was able to come home and take my dog and boyfriend for a walk AND take notes and get my discussion posted super early in the week! I think it has been a pretty productive evening and I'm happy. lol
  2. Hi @Rookie! I was a little apprehensive on starting Black Desert but it's pretty fun. I have a few negatives on it like it lacks male/female versions of the different classes, there's no trading system, and there's no dungeons or raiding really. But other than those three things its awesome. It's a beautiful game and a pretty fun playing style. My boyfriend and I have been playing it together having a lot of fun with it. There are a lot of different things to do as well in terms of crafting, cooking, hunting, fishing, farming, etc. I'm not really sure what kind of games you like in particular but it seems to have something for everyone. As for my quests for the challenge, I updated everything in my first post. Nothing is really a daily except for reading because I cannot be trusted to do something everyday. Especially working 2-3 twelve hour shifts amongst my 8 hour shifts and school work on top. I'm a tad overwhelmed if you can't tell. lol Thanks for checking in to my challenge!
  3. So I keep writing these drawn out re-introductions. But I'm not super feeling them this respawn. Hi it's me! Been going through a lot. Working a lot. School work. Life. I need more self-care, time with my doggo, time doing something fun with my boyfriend, and most importantly getting working on this online college thing. So my quests for this challenge are as follows: Do classwork 5 days a week. Bonus points if everything is turned in by Saturdays so Sunday can officially be "the day of rest" Take Rocky for a walk or a car ride 5 days a week. Read recreationally every day. Play Black Desert with Will at least twice a week. Check in on the forums 5 days a week. Current Quest Completion 10/20 0/4 5/20 15/28 1/8 11/20
  4. @ladyofthebog I'm going to school for my RN. I'm currently an LPN. I work at a doctor's office and a nursing home right now.
  5. @ladyofthebog Thank you! This is the first time I've been able to do something so crazy (working 2 jobs and going to school). Thankfully, I'm doing online classes right now which give me some flexibility since I don't need to worry about being in class at a specific time.
  6. @Diadhuit, I definitely agree it is a lot to take on. But, honestly, I can accomplish these reasonably on days where I'm not working 12+ hours. With the college work I'm doing, I'm trying to maintain a good balance of work hours to supplement our savings account. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of respawning right now. I'm mostly consistent with my goals and I'm trying to have more of a presence on here since that seemed to help in the past.
  7. Hey, are you still lurking in the forums? How have things been going for the last couple months? Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. I've recently started to respawn, if you need a buddy.
  8. Thank you. No, I don't have a commute. I live 10 minutes away from work. However, I'm trying to get myself to the library more often. I'm finding it a difficult task when I'm trying to pick up shifts since the local library closes at 8pm. But! College starts next week so the college library will be open. So I'm looking forward to the flexibility of that.
  9. Hey everyone! It is time. It's time that I've revived and respawned. I'm in the midst of two jobs, online schooling, finding a house, and family drama. It's time to get myself on a healthier track again. It's been a while since I've been here but I'm looking forward hanging out with the amazing people that make up the Rebellion. I'm bringing myself in at Level 0. I look forward to working myself back into the Rebellion and transforming myself into the Healing Ranger that lives inside of me. My initial quests are dailies that will last for 20 days. Drink at least 2 liters of water every day. Walk with Rocky at least once a day. Meditate once a day for at least 5 minutes. Spend at least an hour a day on classwork. Read recreationally for at least 15 minutes every day.
  10. Preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse. My boyfriend is insistent that it is an inevitable thing so why not start training for it? Background The past year has been filled with drama, fear, and strife. Nowhere is safe from the stressors of the upcoming apocalypse. Deaths have occurred, vicious beatings have been endured, general tensions have been rising amongst all the family. There has been some good though. New mentors, new jobs, new learning opportunities, new home, new life created. It is now, that I've decided to start keeping this log to chronicle my adventure throughout this seemingly endless hase. Currently I work as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a primary care office and occasionally in a long-term care setting. I am a Certified Dementia Practitioner and a Tobacco Treatment Specialist. With the threat of the Zombie Apocalypse, I can only continue my nursing education as those skills will be highly valuable in the wake of and subsequent aftermath. I am currently continuing my education on to obtain my associates in nursing to become a Registered Nurse. After that is obtained, I will undoubtedly continue to obtain further education and to further my career. My physical training at this moment has been very lax. I have given every excuse I can find. But something is going to have to give soon. I do not sleep well and have been continually unsuccessful in decreasing my fat stores. I am hoping that keeping this account will encourage me to find the time to make my physical training a priority and not something that can be addressed next week, next month, and so on. We have two animal guardians that reside with us. My faithful Irish Setter who will happily sound the alarm to any oncomer and our attack kitten with a tragic backstory. Together, the four of us are about to embark on our next great adventure: acquiring a house. Day 0 Today started much like every other. I woke up to my late set alarm, quickly readied myself, and headed off to work. Today was a constant flow of patient, phone calls, and messaging and did go by fairly quickly. The office is in a bit of a turmoil currently as we lost a schedule/receptionist yesterday and his absence has created drama. I'm sure the initial pettiness will wear off quickly but I am concerned about some long term effects. My doctor is also pushing for me to start treating patients for tobacco cessation. She really could not have picked a worse time to really start pushing since the office is in a bit of turmoil. It'll work out in the end though I'm sure. After work, we finally got to have some time with my grandparents and we went out to dinner. It was nice. I've been so busy with all the hours I've picked up and working on school work, that I have not been able to spend adequate time with them. Discussion post was due tonight for classes and I finished it fairly quickly, which actually kind of concerns me. Usually I'm up extraordinarily late trying to finish it before midnight. But it's done and posted so there is nothing more to accomplish on that front. Duolingo goal was achieved for the day. Presently I am going to try getting some sleep. My sleep has been extremely restless lately and I don't get a lot of it. Let's see how tonight goes.

  12. I feel like I'm always respawning lately. I work at a doctors office now and have been weighing myself semi-frequently. I'm surrounded by health nuts there, who are super keto diet oriented. Its kind of unnerving sometimes being a bigger person. Its also becoming more uncomfortable counseling people on weight-loss and diabetes when I am overweight myself. I feel like they don't always take me seriously. But regardless, I have been watching my weight start to steadily increase over the past couple months and I'm now at the highest weight I have ever been. I'm honestly besides myself. My boyfriend doesn't mind but he also isn't particularly motivated to exercise or eat healthy. I'm always eating worse around him, not that I eat particularly well in general. We are both struggling with depressions currently as well which are not helping the matter. I'm really interested in getting my health back in order. Its seemingly out of reach between multiple jobs, applying to colleges, my family's shenanigans, the dramatics in my boyfriend's life, and just treading water in my own; I feel exhausted and like I have no control a lot of the time. But... TL;DR There is a lot going on in my life somehow. It just keeps getting more and more complex. I'm unhappy with it, currently. So this challenge. I want to make pretty basic. Just to get myself back in the habit of hanging out here again. For this challenge, I will be using Life RPG so I'm going to base things a little on that. Ranger (Charisma, Writing, Stamina, Strength, Dexterity) Journal / Talk Here Daily Walk Rocky (my dog) daily. I also want to get myself back into the forums with all you awesome people. My health has been kind of questionable lately so I'm going to start taking some vitamins. My doctor that I saw for my knee wants me to start the South Beach diet, so I'm going to give that a fair shot. Everything else, is pretty standard for my challenges. I hope to see you guys around! 14. I think you're starting at a great place. Getting through this first challenge, will help motivate you to keep going. I've tried Habitica in the past too, and enjoyed using it. Unfortunately, I always think that I like lists, and still never end up using them. Good luck on your challenge! I look forward to following your challenge!
  15. Great goals! I'm looking forward to following you this challenge.
  16. Welcome! I like your set up for your challenge! And, your accountability is creative. Money is always a good motivator. Good luck!
  17. @Casbin, it's been a hectic couple of months. But, there were definitely a lot of high points. I'm glad to be back on the forums. I can't wait to jump back into challenges. @QuietRiotGrrrl, welcome to my thread! And, thank you! The Tough Mudder was awesome! I'm so glad I did it. Especially since I was seriously considering not attempting it because of my knee. And then at that half way point, was seriously considering going back with the others. But I just wanted to finish it. And, I'm so glad I did. I was such a great experience. And, I can't wait to do another one.

  23. Good morning, fellow Rebels! Neeko's back! I know y'all missed me dearly. A lot has happened since I have last been on the forums. So I feel like I should give a quick recap. The new job I got as a Resident Care Aide is infinitely better than working at a donut shop. It doesn't sap my soul away but it is more difficult work. I also end up working a lot of 16 hour shifts, which are just exhausting. But I'm happy where I'm at for right now. I even just got a mini promotion to Medication Technician (I can pass meds now.). So now I'm doing aide work two days a week and med teching two days. Classes have started up again so working 5 days is just out of the question. But it's doable if I need to go down that road. Over the summer I also moved... twice... I finally got to move out of my cousin's house (not that I didn't love it there, but I wanted a little independence) and moved into a trailer that my mom owns. It's out in the middle of nowhere and there's a ton of land. I thought it would be perfect. But my mom's scumbag boyfriend turned off the water, not even two weeks in, and never turned it back on. Then there was a small electrical fire which solidified the fact that I wouldn't be able to stay there. It was a rough day. And I really had no where to go. I have my dog back, so I didn't really have any options. My grandparents saved the day though. They offered me one of their apartments to rent. They even gave me leeway so I could keep Rocky (my dog). The biggest stipulation was that my sister and niece moved in with me. The apartment is nice. It's tiny though. And dark. It's also a lot further away from my job and college than I would have liked. I'm happy though. I get my space, my dog, and to be able to spend more time with my sister and niece. I also started to develop a candle company over the summer. It hasn't really gone anywhere yet. I'm finding it difficult to juggle my day to day life with it. But I would really like to see it take off. It's called Daybreak Escapes. I linked it! There's nothing on it right now... But I'm planning on putting some things up this weekend! On a different note... My relationship with my boyfriend is pretty rocky right now. It honestly feels like it's essentially done. We had a pretty bad fight. He's broke his hand because he was mad and decided his best option was to hit a wall. He's in a lot of pain and is more depressed than usual. We tried to discuss our problems this past weekend. I thought we both wanted to work through them. I consented to making some changes. But he doesn't want to try. It basically became me making changes but he doesn't want to do anything himself... It's kind of frustrating... Moving on! Classes have started up again. In December I'll be graduating with my LPN! Classes are going okay so far. They sprung this service learning project on us out of nowhere though. And, it's super unorganized. None of us knows what's going on. I also need to think about what I want to do after I get my LPN. Next fall I can start my RN if I choose to. But I really don't want to take a semester off. I've also been considering going into Healthcare Informatics. And finally, I had a scare with my knee. We thought I tore my meniscus but thankfully I only wore away some of my cartilage... Which still really sucks. But I don't need surgery so that's something. This happened just before I ran a Tough Mudder... I also completed said Tough Mudder. Well... the Tough Mudder Half anyway. I was super proud of myself. We started with a group of five of us as you can see. We lost two of them along the way unfortunately. My sister and boyfriend left halfway though with the medics. My two friends and I finished it up and made a couple friends along the way who helped us through the rest of the obstacles. It was an awesome experience. If anyone has the opportunity to do participate in a Tough Mudder, I would definitely recommend it. It was super challenging but a lot of fun with awesome people. And that about wraps up my summer! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone around the forums again!
