  1. Hey! Congrats on doing AWESOME on your last challenges! Requip. Yes. Good. Start when you have time! I often start a day or two late, especially if I've got an exam. I'm glad your ankle is okay! I know the feeling about needing to deal with junk food. That's a frickin hard challenge. WHOA that's a lot of lifting, you're kicking some butt! I don't know the context of a fiver but that sounds like too much for a salad; healthy food is *way* too expensive. I think it's one of the big reasons why obesity is such a problem--junk food is just plain cheaper for people.
  2. I've fallen into the right class completely on accident. Last Airbender is great, although I have serious difficulty picking a bending class. (My sister tells me it's because obviously I'm the avatar, help). CABBAGES.
  3. Hello! @Luciana Valerosa Culming Invited me here a few weeks ago, so now that I am slightly less than a laughable swordswoman I thought I'd pop in to say hi! I've been teaching myself German longsword and I used to fence a little. My favorite Discworld books are Hogfather and Soul Music. Susan is awesome/life goals.
  4. GEEZE no cookies either? that's amazing, go you! I'm really sorry about the depressive episode, but I'm glad you're trying out a different medication. I know those take a while to kick in, so I hope you're doing okay. You've got awesome willpower! Go you!
  5. Hit my target weight!

  6. congrats on the no chocolate! Journaling is always really hard for me to do, I get so busy with other things and writing other things that to write some more just seems tedious.
  7. oh my gosh you're going cold turkey. Wow. You are a brave, brave human. You go dude. That's amazing, and you are an inspiration. Wow.
  8. DARGON AGE!!! Hey there! I love your challenge, I really like the point system, that makes a lot of sense and seems much easier to follow than a grading scale. I'm glad you figured out the diet thing. Supplements are tricky business. I hope that gets you back on track! Your sleep goals sound awesome, and it looks like you're starting out LIKE A BAMF! Go you meeting the goals and doing the thing and actually achieving the literal points! Do you have any plans for getting ready for your presentation at the end of the challenge?
  9. Looks great! What's DOMS?
  10. YOU SAVED A KITTEN!!! I love it that's so wonderful!! totally worth sidetracking a workout for. Congrats! I bet it was a cutie. I hope you enjoy the trip, and I'm glad to hear you'll be coming back for horseback riding! You can do it! you can totally kill it this upcoming week!
  11. Meatloaf with goat cheese? you're mad. You're a mad mad genius. also you have gotta shoot me these smoothies you're whipping up. They sound awesome and healthy and I think I need some. Also if the stretching went any better than the last picture you sent me, I bet it's a wild success. Congrats on getting through week 2 dude!
  12. Looks like you're kicking this thing's BUTT. Congratulations!! haha don't you love it when you find out there's this thing you can no longer eat...and your body doesn't tell you until later. I'm glad the REM sleep is working out for you, that's the most important thing for getting your body to feel better. RAH RAH DO THAT DISSERTATION! I'm glad this is working out for you, and it looks like your diet control is going great. Congrats on getting through week two!
  13. Congrats on finishing week one and getting to the end of week two!! It can be hard to push through when you're hungry, or don't feel happy, or have injuries, I know I refuse to get out when I'm not feeling well. you're awesome for being disciplined to do weight lifting, and it looks like you're doing great on staying hydrated (super important). Halfway done with the month long challenge! You can do it!!
  14. This is an awesome theme! Erza kicks butt (also my favorite fairy tail character). Following Im sorry you've been feeling low, it absolutely does make everything harder; for me, it's just getting out of bed sometimes. A lot of people here struggle with mental health stuff too. Vent if you need to! We are a supportive Guild and are here to help. If you need to talk I would be happy to listen.
  15. I'm drooling here dude. Have some compassion. Looks AWESOME. following, per usual, do the thing achieve the points YOU GOT THIS.
  16. Hey, this looks great! Following along, per usual BE A DRAGON AGE WARDEN. ACHIEVE THE MASS EFFECT GALAXY. DO THE BIOWARE. I also say booo to the hashimoto's "nothing can be done". Bull! There's always something that can be done, except if you're dead on the table and they've stopped doing CPR. Which you are not! So BOOO to that! If I see anything about lifestyle adjustments/living with Hashimoto's/resources for the Kickass FemShep with Thyroid Issues, I'll send them along. I know there's hormone replacement therapy for thyroid hormone (yay synthetics!) but as far as I know there really is no perfect pill for the autoimmune component. But we're covering pathology and therapeutics this year, so maybe I'll have cool resources for you! I know you're from Ontario, but in the US we have the National Institutes of Health that does research on rare diseases. Maybe they have something like that in Beautiful Canada? At the very least you can get more information than what your average endocrinologist can provide; Hashimoto's isn't as common as diabetes. I like the sleep challenge. That's a great challenge. Sleep is awesome. I love sleep. Sleep is amazing, your body does so many good things when you sleep. I don't want to spam your wall (agh), but thank you so much for your post on my last challenge. I made teary cat noises at it for a good twenty minutes. I appreciate all the support and in short, you are the bomb dot com. Thank you for being awesome and sharing all the cool stuff about you; I feel less weird and alone now. It really helped, so thanks I'm also prone to gushing when people are nice and awesome, so I'll shut up now. Also to answer your questions: I play pipe organ, also love bioware (DRAGON AAAAAGEEEE), have an uncanny knack for predicting TV show plots, and also would prefer to be outside hugging rocks than anyplace else. All of my jokes are nerd puns. Nerd puns for days. Cthulhu references everywhere. If there are no dragons I am not interested. GO! Be the FemShep! Save the Galaxy! Fight the Reapers! You got this!
  17. Congrats on finishing the challenge!! Dissertation stuff is hard, and the fact that you got any done is great. And it sounds like you did a lot of good exercise which is awesome! Any improvement is good improvement. I've been having enforced rest days lately too because it's been so hot here. I am really sorry to hear about the Hashimoto's! Also holy hell that is one mega immune response like whoa. As far as I know it sounds like there's good treatment, but it's just one more thing on your plate. How do you plan to deal with the genetic/autoimmune component? Diet changes are really hard, and I know replacing things like dairy can be a challenge. I can't eat much in the way of desserts, but I have been discovering soy and coconut ice creams and those have been life changing. I've got some chocolate peanut butter waiting for me in the freezer. yum yum delicious dessert without causing havoc in my body. Also there are an amazing number of diet blogs that do paleo desserts--they look delicious enough to make me want to try them!! Good luck with the sleeping and your next challenge! sounds like you're taking really good care of yourself and kicking all kinds of butt!
  18. You lost an adipose! Go you! Kick that alien butt! Your progress on the bodyweight workout is pretty inspiring.
  19. "Category 5 Shitstorm" is fantastic. Congrats on getting through week 3!!! one more week to got! Congrats on turning down delicious food, sounds like you have points stacked in willpower. Hope the dinosaurs were awesome--those are my favorite things to look at in museums. I have definitely done sleep goals for challenges, or standardized bedtimes, and I've found those have really worked out for me. There's always more work to do, but it makes getting up a lot easier.
  20. Wow that is some will power, I can't resist pizza to save my life. And good luck with your dissertation! That's amazing, congrats to be working on it! I watched my sister do hers, and it's a ton of effort on your part. Taking some time to take care of the migraine may help dissertation work go better. I know it's a lot of work, but you can do it!!! (
  21. *grabby hands* I WANT TO READ YOUR NOVEL NAAAOOOWW That is all. Have a nice day.
  22. Awesome goals! What kind of novel are you writing, is it taboo of me to ask? Two thumbs up for the water drinking! Hydration is great and helps me balance my appetite.
  23. I'm not annoyed. Fight boredom with awesome posts!
  24. Wow, welcome back! I think your new handle is great (Dragon age 2 yeah?) Good luck! My sister got her PhD and it was holy terror, that's a lot of work but you can do it!! Good luck with the thyroid issues. That sounds like a difficult thing to contend with but it also sounds like you're trying to be responsible and take good care of yourself. I'm rooting for you!
  25. I love your theme! Very inspirational (I've always thought apocalypse training is best motivation). Good luck and kick some butt!!
