  1. I truly discovered NF last week, although I've been following on FB for a while but never really "clicked" with it before then. I'm 33, and extremely overweight. About five years ago I was in the exact same boat, and started doing Weight Watchers, followed by Paleo, and I started running. I did lots of 5Ks, half marathons, and completed two full marathons. But as time went by, I got too comfortable and stopped running after completing my last full marathon (which was absolute murder...hills=death). I had lost about 110 lb. when I was at my thinnest, and now I'm really ashamed to say that I'm only about 5 lb. less than I was at my starting weight five years ago. But like Steve says, just start where you are and don't let it be an excuse for not starting...to very loosely paraphrase. Right? So, I'm starting today. My husband and I really want to have a baby, but I know how important it is to get as healthy as I can before we conceive, in order to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby at the end. My main motivation in wanting to get stronger and healthier is for my future babies...I want so badly to be a mom and to be a good example for my future babies, and I know that I need to start NOW and stop putting it off out of sheer laziness. So, this is me committing to "join the rebellion"...I prepped lunches for the week last night, and my husband and I went for a four mile walk to kick things off. We're going to eat Paleo about 80/20, and I'm going to start the beginner body weight workout tonight and do it every other day. On my off days, I will do yoga and/or go walking. I usually steer clear of community message boards, but want to hold myself accountable and I know how helpful the community aspect can be. Here we go!
