  1. I like how you organize your Challenge, keep up the good work bro
  2. Wow, I'm glad you're okay Lol Love people who can keep their sense of humor, I'm going to keep cheering so you can keep the good work even with this inconvenience.
  3. please do, and maybe I'll follow your example and do it too I did my last exam today, next one is only in about 2 months... Now I'm going to focus on deciding the theme and researching articles for my monograph..
  4. My last exam was today, I think I did well in almost all of them. The one I'm unsure the teacher focuses in talking about politics in the middle of the class, and he doesn't know how to discuss, always thinks only he knows the truth about everything... So it's hard to study the actual material if he himself doesn't teach properly... and it's the kind of class that isn't based on scientific research, so demotivating... Now I'm going to focus on choosing the theme of my monograph (there is one theme that I'm really interested in, but I'll study more each one so I can be sure of the best way to go) Gamification is helping me to organize better, plan my future and be productive, but I'm lacking the motivation to start exercising... I'm going to start small as soon as I deem fit, since I'm helping out my family I'm allowing myself to lack at least in this area. (the only exercise I'm motivated to do is going jogging, my friend can't go yet because of some medical issues, but as soon as he start I'll go with him so we can support each other) Oh, and good luck on your test! I don't know how it works for you, but independently of how much I study, it always help to arrive a little early and study with my colleagues before the test. I always get new perspectives and see what the others prioritized on their study, it always help in at least a question or two.
  5. Well, My monday started well, I progressed a lot in the decision of the theme for my monograph, I'm almost sure I'll take on gamification(I'm only leaving a bit of doubt so I can read the articles of the other themes to really be sure of my decision). I've talked with 2 professors who made me see more clearly my future, and one of them sugested to orient me with the help of a third professor, because she saw my ambition and motivation about it. At night I found my home empty and discovered my gran was hospitalized because of a pulmonar infection (she is sick for some time now, but she was getting better and was staying with me and my parents so we could better take care of her) So I left aside any fitness goal for this week(maybe even the month). My current focus is on taking care of my family (my gran is sick, and my family needs to support each other to better take care of the situation), then study (a lot of tests this week), then if there is time left do some workout (highly doubt it, but maybe I'll go running with my friend who is at the finals stages of knee rehab)
  6. I use Habitica to keep myself in check. Not only I lose HP if I don't do the bare minimum (it's called a Daily in the site/app), but my party also loses if we're currently in a quest, so... Social pressure
  7. I used memrise to start learning japanese Kanji, It's nice to learn some things, but learning Kanji itself was demotivating for me. As for duolingo, I love it, I used to start learning German, French and Italian. It has some flaws (Since I speak Portuguese and English, I took Portuguese course and English course to see how well they are built), there are some pronunciation flaws, and its repetitive, but it's the best I used up until now. your can track your success records of any word, and test out only the things you have difficulty, so you focus on your weak words, instead of seeing everything again just to learn better some verbs. By the way, I didn't finish these languages, I only speak Portuguese, english and know some words in other languages
  8. I hope I can get to see you thrive, that's a nice list of Goals!
  9. Anyone else from Brazil?
  10. Just the willingness to help already goes a long way. Welcome aboard mate
  11. A good way to begin, at least it's being good for me, is habit changing. I'm little by little trying to change my alimentary habits(even though I won't commit to the "paleo diet", I'm reducing carbs, sugar and liquid calories, and step by step I'm deciding what I'm comfortable to change next, like adding more vegetables, or trying a few minutes of exercise) http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2010/10/04/the-beginners-guide-to-the-paleo-diet/
  12. I use Habitica as well. I'm currently a lvl 26 mage and already have a party, 3 friends I convinced to start playing. I'm still spending money on the equips, but soon I'll start making some rewards to stay motivated. It's nice to see others using habitica as well, It helped me improve my diligence a lot, I'm a lot more responsible and organized, being able to see my own progress as well is awesome. And thanks for the tips, the daily without a day and the hashtag ones were amazing
  13. I'm Brazilian, so I speak Brazilian Portuguese. I'm going to try breaking down the elements if I decide the gamification theme, I'm currently studying for tests and reading a few articles about each theme. I'm starting to read one about gamification that I think that shows perfectly what I want for my Monograph (Since I want to be a Researcher or work with Organizational Psychology, it's a good mix) "Casual Social Games as Serious Games: The Psychology of Gamification in Undergraduate Education and Employee Training", but I can't choose just because of one article... It's good that I started early, so I can have these doubts without the pressure If I choose gamification I want to focus on Employee training, Habit building or Education. I want to work with Organizational Psychology, or be a researcher at another country. It's almost a sin to be a researcher on private money here, and the most researches on public money are about Social Psychology(focusing on the poor) or Mental Health. Both are important, but neither are of my interests. If you know of any good books or articles on the subject to share, I would be thankful. The One I'm reading about this subject right now is the "Serious Games and Edutainment Applications".
  14. Intro I developed Social Phobia during School and struggle with it since then. I've trained and got a lot better, got into some long lasting relationships since then, made some fine friends, but the anxiety builds up from time to time, even though no one notices my struggles nowadays and even use me as example of being a social person... My priority is my Graduation in Psychology, but in my free time from study I want to better myself Socially, become Healthier and be a little more optimistic (I don't want to exaggerate, I think it's good to prepare for the worst, while being realistic, I really just want to be less pessimistic). Since my focus is my study, I'm mostly using Habitica to keep track of my appointments and create good habits (mostly social, study related or productivity related) and now using the Nerdfitness forum to improve my general health, and english writing skills. 16. Hello! I'm in A little introduction I'm doing psychology college and have to produce a written monograph due on June of 2017 (I've been thinking about what theme I want since I've entered college), and a lot of tests and academic works until then. I'm thinking about what theme to pick, I have three in mind: Social Skills, Body Language and Gamification. The first 2 I have some material in my language, but it's been hard, I can't think of the specific goals of the project, and one of them have a lot of Common sense Material (I need some real material, done by real researchers, by scientific method), the last one only have articles in english, it's a theme not seen in any way in my country... but I can clearly see some specific goals... I just need to study more each theme to really be sure that I choose the best theme for me at the moment. Since my focus is my study, I'm mostly using Habitica to keep track of my appointments and create good habits (mostly social, study related or productivity related) and now using the Nerdfitness forum to improve my general health. I hope we can all help each other  See y'all
