  1. Mithryl here, I've been here before, a few years ago but now I am back. The people in my life are terrible accountability buddies so I came back here. I will be starting over completely, rereading the material and going through the 12-week quests again. I am here to get my "big why" knocked out. It's pretty basic: I'm sick of not having the energy to do anything and I am sick of being uncomfortable in my own skin. I am terribly self-conscious and I want to change that. Back when I originally started this and lost some weight I felt damn good, had more energy and my posture was also better. I have less anxiety now because I am graduating, I am also working for a good company that really encourages a healthy lifestyle so I should have a better time of it now. PLUS I want to stand a chance during the zombie apocalypse and as it stands I would rate my odds very low
  2. Its called Total Control Academy, its on Lakeshore in Timberlake. A little family owned place, everyone is great and the womens self-defense is on wednesday nights and only $20/month.
  3. I am east side, Eastlake specifically. Haven't been too active, restarting zombies run 5k (both the dog and I have had injuries this year and had a lot of down time) and I take wednesday night womens self defence at an awesome local jiu jitsu place.
  4. Update: Week 2; 1) Cook at least 2 meals per week - 100% 2) Stretch at least 5 mins daily - 100% 3) Put away 10% of each pay check - 100% 4) Walk the dog atleast 5x per week. -100% The few days after my fiances birthday was horrible for my eating habits, I ate like garbage (even though I gave a lot of food away, there was a lot left) and it was all my favorites (mostly potato salad and coleslaw). I very much regretted it though, but I've gotten back on track (Punjabi chicken last night and I made the NF fajitas last week). Tonight was the first night I haven't walked the dog but I was busy all day and was exhausted, still did my stretches and attempted a pull up on the hang board so not all bad. Manarelle, I don't get on here much so pardon my late response, I don't take her to the local dog park, every dog I know that goes there always comes back with fleas or ticks and a lot of people there don't watch their animals. I don't stop for pokemon as much but she also hasn't been dragging me as much either so it's been easier to catch them. However, with the heat shes been struggling to keep up and panting horribly when we get home (even the mornings have been hot) so our walks have been pretty easy lately.
  5. Okay, its been awhile, I normally post in the FB group. So I did get the membership, I am starting the week 4 quests today (I put the program on hold for two weeks while I had some family issues). I have posted my first challenge here ->
  6. Week 1 Update: 1) Cook at least 2 meals per week - 100% -> Though my fiance turned 30 this week and we had a big party (Saturday) so I've gotloads of typical cookout food which is going to murder my healthy eating for this week... 2) Stretch at least 5 mins daily - 100% 3) Put away 10% of each pay check - Only get paid the 15 and 30, so I haven't had a pay yet. 4) Walk the dog atleast 5x per week. -100% -> Walked her six days this week, though I think shes sick of stopping for pokemon...
  7. So, first challenge here, a bit late, I've been meaning to post all week but things have been hectic. Posting via mobile so I'll make it short and sweet. 1) Cook atleast 2 meals per week - to save money and also to try to get the fiance to eat healthier. 2) Stretch at least 5 mins daily - my lower body flexibility is terrible, always has been. I've been trying to stretch regularly and it's helping but I want to make sure I continue. 3) Put away 10% of each pay check - need to work on that savings account. 4) Walk the dog atleast 5x per week. As I said life has been hectic currently so I am trying to keep it somewhat simple for now so that I actually stick with it.
  8. Im about 20 mins East of Cleveland.
  9. Apparently because I had been working out during the summer and then stopped all together for the winter I sort of "crashed" from being lazy? I got winded real easy and had tightness in my chest. I still have to go for a stress test and talk to a cardiologist but all my x-ray and echos came back good so who knows. I don't run often, I was trying to follow the 5k trainer and "run" 3x/ week but it's not much running. The first week has you run for 10 sec intervals and steps it up every week with exercises in between. I have never been good at cardio.
  10. Hello, I don't know how I never heard of this before yesterday (via a Facebook ad)! This is exactly what I need in my life, some motivation to be active! I quit smoking over a year ago and put on weight from that and just never lost it, plus between work and school I've become very lazy. When I get home all I want to do is turn on some games and be lazy, bad habits. Many years ago I used to rock climb and it's so depressing that I can't even manage a pull up anymore, so that really needs to change. My biggest concern is my health, the doctor thinks I went through some deconditioning so it's going to be even harder to get back into it. I have the zombie run app which I like, as well as their 5k trainer, but I always end up sore, which makes me think I'm doing something wrong. Anyway! About me, I am in school for biotechnology and I currently work as a lab tech in a cryogenic lab. I enjoy reading and gaming, archery, off-roading, shooting and disappearing into the woods with my dog, Ruger. I would like to climb again and am hoping to build some walls in my garage, there is a gym near me but I am not a social person and it's kinda expensive. Aside from my dog, I also have started into the saltwater aquarium money pit, I currently have a 40 gallon and am working on setting up a 25 cube as well. This site is really overwhelming and has so much information, I still have a lot to go over but I plan on purchasing the academy membership later in the week. Side note- does anyone know of any teens that use the academy? I have a brother who lives and breathes anything involving video games but really needs to get active, I was hoping this might spike his interest.
