  1. Much better week Diet - 2 days of pretty solid paleo fitness - hit my goals body weight at home and back to my kickboxing class. Also finished my local fitness challenge! Here is a copy of my Facebook post from the NF men's group.... Wanted to share a personal accomplishment today. Before reading Level up Your Life and finding Nerd Fitness, My wife and I signed up for a 9week community fitness program/competition. I'm happy to say that today ended that program and I met all my goals! 1. Completed the program 2. Took at least 7 different types of fitness classes 3. Found a class that I wanted to commit to after the program 4. Loose 15 lbs in the 9 weeks Every one completed and to boot I won an award for the most inches lost in the men's category (can't remember the body total off the top of my head but I lost 4.25" at my chest and 3" at my waist) also came in 2nd for men's most weight lost loosing 15.8 lbs. I had worked these goals into my Level Up goals and rewarding myself with singing up for a membership to gym where I have gotten hooked on kickboxing and going to purchase my own gloves. Glad I have found this community to help me continue my journey!
  2. Check in time. I'm flat out failing the paleo goal I have fixed a few recipes that were specifically paleo that I did enjoy but haven't made it through a whole day on strict paleo diet. But honestly my diet this week was nothing to be proud of in general, I need to re-calibrate. Fitness was ok kind of an off kilter week couldn't make it to my regular kick boxing class so did water aerobics instead and it worked out well. Also missed a day of body weight training but did do a 5 mile hike in the Smokey Mountains. Lets see what next week brings...

    Round 2 START!

Wow great progress! That is tough trying to regulate your diet when having to transition to a new living situation, I'm guessing it means more eating out not to mention the additional stress of house hunting. Keep up the good work and best of luck on the house!!
  4. Way to go! I'm fairly new to this also but I thought you got some great goals here stick with it! You can do this and you will thank yourself for it. Just take it a step at a time.
  5. two weeks in - progress report fitness: holding to my challenge pretty good not perfect but not too shabby... diet: more of a struggle here, not doing bad diet wise, still loosing weight, but paleo is tough and I have a lot of room for improvement here misc: I need to channels myself to stay on target more, spend more time on forums and read more in the website basically just be moe engaged so I stay on target
  6. Jothra I am going to start out with the Nerd Fitness body weight circuit. It seemed obtainable and good starting point.
  7. So here goes with my first 4 week challenge - You have to start somewhere! I have signed up for and been participating in a local fitness challenge that I have completed the first half of, almost done with 5 weeks of a 10 week program. My goal is to stay committed to and finish this program with the focus on loosing weight and developing some good (regular) exercise habits and identifying what it is that I enjoy doing and will keep me engaged. One of my big hurtles is that I injured my sciatic nerve several months ago and it has been causing frequent pain and slowing me down. I need to stay committed but do so in a conscious way and slowly build my strength in my lower back and core. Exercise Challenge 1. Get up early and complete stretching routine each morning as suggested by chiropractor 2. Complete Yoga stretching for the lower back routine each evening 3. complete at least one fitness class each week 4. complete basic body weight training circuit 3 days a week Diet Challenge 1. record food intake each day 2. base the majority of my meals on a paleo diet - attempt a strict paleo diet at least 3 days out of the week
