  1. That sounds tasty, actually. I like to fix sweet potatoes when I do pork chops, and I always have cinnamon on those so I obviously think it's a good combo.
  2. Sounds like a good idea. I hope you get things figured out.
  3. Sounds like a good plan to me! For your system, what didn't you like about your previous attempts? Maybe that would give you an idea of things to start looking at. I tried Sparkpeople for a while--they've got food, fitness, and measurement tracking, and you can have your own blog page. I eventually gave up though because I hate recording calories. I tend to obsess over numbers when I do stuff like that. I also did a month of just writing down what I ate in a notebook, and that seemed to help. I have separate notebooks for my workouts and measurements. Good luck with everything!
  4. Cutting back on sugar is my next goal! Good luck! I'm cheering for you!
  5. Nice job so far! Have you tried adding cinnamon and ginger to your cooking routines? Both are supposed to help with blood sugar control. I like to put cinnamon in my oatmeal, and I use ginger when I bake fish. I think it goes well with pork too. It might be the placebo effect, but I really noticed a difference when I started using them. Keep up the good work!
  6. Woohoo! Genealogy! Librarian here...let me know if you need any help/tips to get started with your search. Good luck!
  7. Good luck with the veggies! I like to buy the frozen stir fry bagged veggies and lightly stir fry them (though my method is more like steaming...). I find them to be pretty tasty when warm, but still crisp. And I like to toss them rice or quinoa this way too. Let us know if you come across any recipes/prep methods you like!
  8. Nice job! I just wanted to pop by and say hi. I found your thread while wandering through the forum--our goals are really similar, though I'd be way overreaching if I aimed for five minutes of meditation! :-) I hope things go well for you!
